Barbara Walters doesn't have any Myspace friends…

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Barbara Walters

Barbara Walters is now on Myspace but as of now she doesn’t have any friends besides Tom and Chris DeWolf who both work for Myspace. She really wants some friends and said it will be depressing if none of the hundred some million Myspacers reach out to her. Her exact words….

I am now on MySpace,” the broadcast veteran, 78, told her View co-producer Bill Geddie on Barbara Live, her weekly Sirius radio show.

What would bother me is if nobody got in touch with me,” she admited. “What ifnobody wanted to be my friend. I would be very depressed.”

Checking the computer to see just how many friends she actually does have on her MySpace page, Geddie was forced to inform Walters she has only two: MySpace founders Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson.

Nobody else wanted to be my friend?” said a disappointed Walters. “Nobody I went to high school with? … Nobody wanted to get in touch with me?

Her sorrowful response prompted Geddie to offer a plea to listeners.

“If you’re out there on MySpace, become a friend with Barbara Walters because it’s so depressing to look at this,” he said. “Really – just go on, say you love her or something, I watch The View all the time – something like that.”

Said Walters, with tongue planted firmly in cheek , “And that’s for real that nobody wants to be my friend? What have I done?

3 men detained for questioning in Sean Taylor murder…

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Via AJC:

Police have detained at least three people in the Fort Myers area for questioning in the death of Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor.

A law enforcement official in Lee County confirmed the men from the Fort Myers area were in custody, but requested anonymity because the investigation is being handled by Miami-Dade County police.

The Miami Herald, which first reported the development on its Web site, said investigators believe three suspects learned of Taylor’s house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about his wealth. The suspects include two teenagers and a man in his 20s, all from the Fort Myers area, the paper reported.

A telephone message left at the Florida City Police Department for Taylor’s father, Chief Pedro Taylor, was not immediately returned.

Richard Sharpstein, a former Taylor lawyer and family friend, said: “It looks like the police are pursuing extremely good leads. It appears that the burglary was exactly as I’ve always stated, not random, that Sean’s house was targeted.”

Evidence at Taylor’s home indicated one or more intruders barged into the house early Monday in an attempted burglary, Miami-Dade police director Robert Parker said Wednesday. After a confrontation inside the home, Taylor was shot once in the upper leg and died early Tuesday after losing a tremendous amount of blood.

Taylor’s family has scheduled a funeral service for 11 a.m. Monday at Pharmed Arena at Florida International University in Miami.

Two of Vick's boys get prison time.

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Michael Vick

The judge who will decide how long Michael Vick stays in prison sentenced two of the fallen NFL star’s dogfighting parnters to prison on Friday.

Purnell Peace, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Quanis Phillips, of Atlanta, Georgia, was sentenced to 21 months.

Federal sentencing guidelines suggested a year to 18 months. Vick faces the same potential prison time.

U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson, who has presided over the dogfighting case, is not bound by the guidelines. Vick will be sentenced December 10. Tony Taylor of Hampton, Virginia, who was the first to plead guilty, will be sentenced on December 14.

Peace, Phillips and Taylor pleaded guilty last summer and agreed to testify against Vick, prompting the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback to enter his own plea agreement a few days later.

“You may have thought this was sporting, but it was very callous and cruel,” U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson told Phillips.

Sentencing guidelines called for punishments of 12 to 18 months for Peace and 18 to 24 months for Phillips, who has a more extensive criminal record.

Prosecutors recommended sentences at the low end of the range because of the co-defendants’ cooperation. But Hudson said he felt sentences on the high end of the range were appropriate because of the nature of the crime.

All four men also face state charges. Vick’s attorneys this week requested a jury trial, which is set to begin in April.

Is Jay Z's drug dealing past greatly exaggerated???

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Jay Z

Jay’s ex buddy De-Haven is at it again, claiming that the one thing that Hov has built his entire image and legendary status around which is the claim that he sold drugs heavy while young and then jumped out of the underworld into this rap ish is full of lies and pretty exaggerations. De-Haven says that Jay was an innocent bystander and sideline reporter for the drug world that he (De-Haven) was deep into. Here’s what De-Haven had to say in a recent interview with NyMag

In the video for his new hit single “Roc Boys (And the Winner Is),” Jay talks about a crew of Marcy hustlers called the Roc Boys. Were you a Roc Boy?
I have no idea what a Roc Boy is, actually. I guess that’s something new that they’re coming up with now. There was no crew back in ’88; it was just me and him, so I don’t know how he got “Roc Boys.”

How did you and Jay meet?
We lived in the same building, on the same floor in the Marcy projects, and we went to [elementary] school together. He was a year ahead of me.

What was he like back then?
He was hanging with some “school”guys. Nerds! We didn’t get together actually until after the fifth grade, in intermediary school. We played baseball and basketball. He wasn’t tough on the court at all. He didn’t like physical ball. He was the same type of guy then as he is now, just a cool guy. He wasn’t no bully, he didn’t start no trouble.

Did you and Jay sell drugs together?
No, he ain’t do much selling drugs. I did all that work. He was just a good dude to be around. He was one of my best friends. I taught him some things, but I mainly kept him from being out on the street a lot. Whatever was mine was his. So, we shared clothes, we shared a whole bunch of stuff. We had sex with the same women plenty of times. We both got burnt! We had the drip. My mom took him to the clinic. My mom also got him out of jail.

Does Jay exaggerate his drug-dealing in his songs?
I’m telling you he overexaggerates. He was there to see things, but doing some big-time Frank Lucas–type thing? No. He nickled and dimed, but nothing on a major scale. He definitely didn’t sell nothin’ in Marcy. Spanish Jose, who he mentions a lot [in his songs], was a friend of mine. Jay didn’t have no affiliation to Spanish Jose.

You’re saying Jay appropriated your story?
He says it himself. He’s been talking about me since day one, on a lot of his albums. He mentioned me on The Black Album, and I hadn’t seen him in years.

After Marcy, the two of you headed to Trenton.
Yeah. I wasn’t going to school. My basketball coach in high school recommended me to go to Trenton High, which had a great basketball program. I moved to Trenton in ’88, and it was just like an open drug market out there. I couldn’t even focus on the basketball when I saw that market. So I got settled in there. I went back to New York and talked to Jay. He wasn’t doing nothing, he didn’t have no money in his pocket, he wasn’t feeling school, neither, so I asked if he wanted to come live with me. We moved in with my aunt, who accepted him as my best friend. In Trenton he started dipping into his music with Jaz-O, so he wasn’t much around, because he had to get back and forth to the studio, which I was funding. I was supporting [his career] with everything I could do. When he needed more people in the crowd, I provided more people in the crowd. When he needed security, I provided security. I supported my dude!

When did the two of you have a falling-out?
We never really had a falling-out, that’s the problem. This is why I’m so confused. There was no argument, there was none of that. I don’t want an apology [from him], I want a reason. What happened? When my case [a federal drug-conspiracy charge] came in 1998, I never seen him again too much anymore. The case had nothing to do with him, his name never came up, so I’d like to ask him, “What happened?” Where did his departure come from?

When he talks about you on “No Hook,” is he accusing you of snitching?
I think he’s talking about the way I went about this YouTube project [and not about snitching]. But he’s into subliminal messages, so [I think] he’s trying to get me hurt. That goes beyond disrespect. He’s getting my safety involved. I can’t believe my own daughter’s godfather is trying to get me hurt. But it won’t work. Being that I’ve been in prison a lot of times, a lot of people know my credibility. They know I went all the way to trial with my federal case, and I won.

Do you want money from Jay?
Not now! We went beyond that. I was hoping from the first YouTube that we could sit down and discuss this like men. But he didn’t go that route.

Have you seen any financial benefits from this project so far?
No, but I’m looking to see that off of this DVD and this book. They’re about a lot of things that we’re talking about. A lot of people come forward, verifying what I’m saying. In the book I go into full detail about [my] case, about, when I did see Jay, what we talked about. It’s full of details.

Will they be self-released?
Right now, everything is still in the works. I have two major companies which are doing a little bidding war. I might just do something independently if they don’t come up with the proper numbers.

Foxy cried the entire day on thanksgiving…

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Foxy Brown

Here’s what Foxy had to say to Metro New York regarding her Thanksgiving behind bars…

“I probably cried the entire Thanksgiving. I spoke to my entire family, but I was boo-hooing like a baby. We were served what would be considered sweet potatoes, collared greens and turkey, but it wasn’t anything like my mother’s cooking. I was really, really depressed all day. It’s been very hard, but I believe God uses circumstances to develop your character. I know coming out of this I’m going to be a much stronger person. I’m much smarter now.”

Ghostface has a few words for Tony Yayo…

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Ghost

G-Unit’s Tony Yayo recently accused Ghost of having a ghost writer for his album. Here’s what Ghost had to say to Rhapsody…

In a recent interview Tony Yayo said Superb had written Supreme Clientele.Yeah, I was in Europe when I heard that. That’s just nonsense. I still put mad sh*t out. ‘Perb was ‘Perb, Ghost was Ghost. ‘Perb is Rae’s man. He been in the studio a few times while we’re doing sh*t. He ain’t write sh*t. All ‘Perb contributed was a couple of lines that you could put in the air. When we write, we all do that. “Say this one right here” or “Put this one right here.” We all catch lines with each other ‘cause you in the studio. You got n*gg*s around you that write. Even if he did write a verse, he could never make an album of mine. He couldn’t make an album, you feel me? I made Supreme Clientele what it is. Those are my stories, based around whatever they’re based upon. It’s me. I can’t see what songs ‘Perb wrote. He ain’t write “Mighty Healthy” or “One” or “Apollo Kids” or “Cherchez LaGhost” or “Saturday Nite” or “Malcolm.” But, Yayo can suck a fat d*ck. Tell him I said that.

Choreographer says Diddy has an ego problem.

Posted by Media Outrage on 30th November 2007

Laurie Gibson

Here’s what choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson who worked with Diddy on Making The Band had to say about him…

You and P. Diddy had a very public falling-out on Making the Band, in which he allegedly threw a chair at you because he thought you hadn’t done a good job. Do you think you’ll ever go back to the show?
I’m done dealing with him. The problem was definitely P. Diddy and working with his ego. It was really him that gave me trouble because he couldn’t really understand that at certain points [the process] was difficult and hostile. I mean, the girls were amazing and the boys were not the problem. They were hard workers, and the show was definitely edited at times. It’s debatable, but a lot of people know that’s what it takes as a dancer.
