We found this interesting interview with Chris Rock on AHotMess and Lefsetz
Chris Rock: Music kind of sucks. Nobody’s into being a musician. Everybody’s getting their mogul on. You’ve been so infiltrated by this corporate mentality that all the time you’d spend getting great songs together, you’re busy doing nine other things that have nothing to do with art. You know how shitty Stevie Wonder’s songs would have been if he had to run a fuckin’ clothing company and a cologne line?
RollingStone: Plenty of rappers say, “I’m not a rapper, I’m a businessman.”
Chris Rock: That’s why rap sucks, for the most part. Not all rap, but as an art form it’s just not at its best moment. Sammy the Bull would have made a shitty album. And I don’t really have a desire to hear Warren Buffett’s album – or the new CD by Paul Allen. That’s what everybody’s aspiring to be.
We live in a weird time. No one knows who’s smart – we just know who makes money. “Hey, somebody invented Viagra! We don’t know their name, but we know Pfizer, because they make the money.” That guy made a pill that keeps your dick hard, and nobody knows who the fuck he is. The pharmaceutical companies are like fuckin’ record companies. There’s literally the Bo Diddley of medicine walking around, not getting his royalties. He signed all his fucking pill publishing away.

His words…
“I thought that i was cool enough in the black world to be able to use that word as a brother to a brother…I’m not. I didn’t really know until 3 or 4 days ago what that (word) meant to black people. Of course I know the story, and I know America’s story but I never realized that that’s like stabbing a black person in the heart. I would never do that to any kind of person. I have always taken pride to the white guy that can talk to the black people, that can refer to them truly as a brother from a different mother.”
Now let’s watch his interview.

In a bid to get his criminal tax evasion trial transferred from Florida to New York, Wesley Snipes claims that prosecutors “deliberately chose the most racially discriminatory venue available,” an area that the actor claims is a “hotbed of Klan activity” and where “substantial pockets of prejudice exist.”
In a venue change motion filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Ocala, Snipes claims that government lawyers are angling to get an “all-white Southern jury” to hear its case against the 45-year-old performer. According to the November 5 Snipes motion, the Ocala area features statues honoring the KKK founder, and the hate group “adopted highways to commemorate the Klan.”
Additionally, he adds, “the Confederate Flag flies over government property.” To support the claim that he faces a possible judicial lynching, Snipes commissioned a public opinion poll comparing racial attitudes in the Ocala area and his preferred judicial jurisdiction, the Southern District of New York (which includes Manhattan, The Bronx, and a few outlying counties).
The opinion poll includes New York-Florida comparisons on topics like interracial marriage, race-based hiring preferences, and whether the Confederate flag is a symbol of pride, not prejudice. Oh, and when asked whether burning a cross on someone’s lawn should be a federal crime, the Snipes poll found that 23.8 percent of Ocala residents replied “No.” That’s compared to 13.2 percent of New Yorkers polled. Though a previous Snipes venue change bid was rejected, a federal judge recently allowed the refiling of motions after the actor fired his entire legal team for what he claims is incompetence.

I’m telling you soon they are going to find evidence of other intelligent life that looks just like us out there! lol This universe is huge and they keep discovering stuff.
Scientists announced today the discovery of a fifth planet in a distant star system that now looks like a “cousin” to our own.
Known as 55 Cancri, the sun-like star harbors the most number of planets ever discovered outside our solar system.
“We now know that our sun and its family of planets is not unusual,” study team member Geoffrey Marcy of the University of California, Berkeley told reporters in a teleconference.
Four of the planets had been previously detected, but the existence of the fifth planet took 18 years to confirm. It is about 45 times more massive than Earth and might be similar to Saturn in its composition and appearance. Read the rest of this entry »

Rumor has it that Shaq has finally sold his Star Island Mansion in Miami to none other than Baseball great Alex Rodriguez. Shaq purchased the property for $18.8 million in 2004 but we guess he has no need for the huge crib anymore being that he and Shaunie are getting a divorce. Shaq has sold the mansion for in between $25 million and $27 million. And we know A-Rod can afford to cop the property given the huge amount of money he is seeking in his new contract.

Desperate Housewives star James Denton tells Arizona radio station Kiss FM Phoenix that one of his costars—sounds like he’s referring to Eva Longoria—might have been a bit too blasé about the Hollywood writers’ strike until he brought up one little detail she’d overlooked . . .
“I felt the need to point out to her that it was going to cost her $26,000 a day,” says Denton, whose costar failed to realize that no writers will eventually mean a total work stoppage, meaning no one on the show would get paid.”
