Nelly makes a lot of sense!!!

Here’s what Nelly had to say to Sohh about the double standard that exist where actors can simulate super sexual love scenes and parade around naked but rappers who are entertainers also can’t.
“You look at Essence magazine, and they wouldn’t put a rapper on the cover,” he told SOHH. “They wouldn’t put Nelly on the cover of Essence. Why? I don’t know. Would I like to do it? Of course I would. Why not?“
“You wouldn’t put me on the cover because of the ‘Tip Drill’ video … that’s probably your main focus,” he added. “But yet still, you put HalleBerry on the cover. She’s had a 15-minute sex scene with some white guy in front of a couch … I mean you can’t tell me that ‘Tip Drill’ was worse than watching that sex scene between Billy Bob (Thornton) and Halle Berry. You can’t tell me that. That was longer than four or five minutes. You feel what I’m sayin‘?”
Yup Nelly we understand what you are saying. And you are totally correct. Movies portray gun violence all of the time but because a rapper says gun….”Federal Investigation!!!!” Chris Rock said something similar. It is what it is. Double standards. We love you Oprah but you need to let one of these successful inspiring rappers on your show. They have a lot of positive things to say.

Nelly is a racist. Why is it bad for an black women to have sex with a “white guy”. If a white person said the same thing about how its bad for Billy Bob to have sex with Halle Berry, we would be up in arms and he would lose his job. Once again we are using the double standard.

Banks that’s not what Nelly was saying. He did not say it is bad that she is having a sex scene with a white guy. He was using her sex scene with billy bob thornton who happens to be white, as an example of the double standard that rappers face when they display certain scenes in their own music videos. Or when they make certain references in their music. If Halle Berry would have conducted that sex scene with Denzel Washington he would have used that same example. It was just a very graphic scene in which she was not criticized for it but rappers are.
