Republican Assemblyman says blacks should thank GOD for being slaves

Posted by Media Outrage on January 4, 2008

Michael Patrick Carroll

This week New Jersey has begun considering becoming the first US northern state to apologize to African Americans for the institution of slavery and here is what Republican Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll had to say about it….

But, on a current note, if slavery was the price that a modern American’s ancestors had to pay in order to make one an American, one should get down on one’s knees every single day and thank the Lord that such price was paid,”

All we can say is that is one of the most racist statements made this year and last year and he has a lot to compete with. He is still an Assemblyman??? Somebody remove this racist clown from office please.

Does this mean Assemblyman Patrick is not inclined to vote for such a statute?
Or did he mean that we modern blacks should thank God for our ancestors’ oppression and suffering?
The NJ Assembly should put this bozo on front street and make him apologize personally for saying such stupid s**t!!

haha. this is ridiculous. America isn’t that great, not for that price. I mean I’m glad to be here and proud to be here. but If I had to choose, well I can’t say I would tell the slave master to take me to the mythical land of Oz. I would have just stayed in africa. and where does new jersey get off apologizing unless it’s gonna come with college scholarships they can keep it.
