After 17 years on the air Montel Williams show was canceled last week and we are wondering if this video is the reason. He was on Fox News and they wanted to talk about the death of actor Heath Ledger and Montel expressed his regret about the sudden death of the actor but said that the media’s non stop coverage of it repulsed him when there have been 28 US soldiers killed in Iraq since January 1st. He said that gets no coverage so he didn’t want to discuss Heath Ledger. So was his show canceled because of this?

Well what he said is true. The news is so caught up in all the crap that goes on in Hollywood, when there are stories like this about soldiers dying everyday in Iraq. I feel that he has a right to his opinion and what he wants to talk about. He expressed his regret about Heath’s passing and that’s all he wanted to say. Why does he “have” to go into a detailed discussion about it. If this is the reason they cancelled his show, they should be shot. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have been watching Montel Williams the entire time he has been on the air. I love Montel’s show!I AM VERY UPSET THAT HIS WONDERFUL SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!!!!!!!!!! He has done many informative shows and helped many people change their lives. He has the God-given, right (especially as an American) to express his opinions without some out-of-touch, anal retentive executives at CBS overreacting and depriving the public of a beloved show which serves the public’s interest.
I intend to urge everyone I know to boycott CBS shows in protest of this wrong. They have wronged more than just Montel – they have injured all of his viewers. DOWN WITH CBS!!!!!!!
I am a Registered Nurse and I will tell EVERYONE I have contact with to protest and punish CBS in any way they can for this dastardly attack on free speech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed about this. I have been watching his show for years. And quite frankly, he was spot on. I don’t even watch the news or listen to it anymore because all it seems to be lately is exploitation of grief or celebrities that I honestly don’t care about. He always kept it real and he’s going out keeping it real. Bravo, Montel and you will be missed. Your candor and search for the truth made your show most enjoyable.

i can’t believe CBS IS SO SHALLOW AS TO DO SUCH A THING ESPECIALLY A SHOW THAT HAS HELPED SO MANY PEOPLE you have just messed up your ratings. Keep standing up Montel. You are within your rights .we are fighting a war that we never should have entered. all for a little oil for Bush.

I am so sad about this show being cancelled! Out of all the crap that is on T.V this is the last show I would ever expect to have been cancelled! Some of the other shows that I have watched that have been cancelled are Reba. Why would they cancel the shows that have true meanings! The Reba show was all about true family instances! T.V sucks anymore! All you see is reality shows! How many of these shows do we really need! This makes me sick to my stomach! Well Montel I wish you all the happiness in the world thanks for all the Great shows! Thanks for caring! Thanks for making a difference! And if the real reason they choose to not continue your show is what you said! I couldn’t agree with you more! What about all thoes men and women who have been injured and or killed in this war! It really makes me sick how people can sit back and think that all we want to hear about is Paris Hilton,Brittany Spears ect. Well I am here to say we don’t!!!! Again I hope someone else picks up your show on a different channel and cbs goes under! That isn’t a nice thing to say but, what they have done isn’t a nice thing either! I hope you keep up your health and enjoy your journey where ever it may lead you! Ang

It does really stink that Montel got cancelled. I didn’t watch all the time, but I watched occasionally (especially when Sylvia Brown was on). Don’t get me wrong, I love Montel and I admire him. But I just want to know one thing. He felt compelled to chastise the media for wanting to talk about Heath Ledger instead of the war in Iraq. How often can the media talk about the war? Every day I hear something about Iraq. There is other news out there, folks. And by the way, Nancy Grace ends EVERY episode of her show honoring one of the fallen, given the name, a bit about the person, etc. AND she shows how many people have tragically died during this fiasco. If Montel is so passionate about our fallen troops, why doesn’t he do the same thing?

I was just looking to see if any of the networks picked up Moonlight and found out that the Montel Williams show has also been canceled. What are the TV networks thinking. With Montel gone I now have NO reason to watch TV until 5:00 OH, unless Dr. Phil was canceled too. The networks don’t care at all what the viewers want to see. Moonlight won the Peoples Choice award for 2008, Favorite new TV Drama, and they were still canceled. It must be nice to get paid to screw up all the time.

He was a self righteous pompous ass and his show was boring. That’s why he gone. Now he has all the time in the world to use his millions and figure out ways to make marijuana legal so he can smoke it with a guilt free conscience.

Thank you for your comment. Montel used People to get his money, married a white stripper, cheated on his wife, pushed media garbage in his early tv days and after he piled up his money he wants to do the right thing and hollywood said get the f otta here. I went on his show when it was a pilot and he paid all the white folk, but not the black folk and her brother said to me us blacks got to use each other. I see this all the time but I am not down with that theory. I see black folk pay everybody but another black, they will want you to do things for free, like a fool I did the show, never again, that was a long time ago and I am no long naive like that.

I live in the uk and dont usually watch montel williams although I have watched him in the past,Iwas decorating my hallway and the tv was on in the background in the living room,I was listening when he was talking to some kids from foster care, then he went on to anounce that “alleged” medical testing was being done on kids in foster care mostly on black and hispanic children,it was obviously a rerun but I dont know from when.I was horrified and want to find out more,I cant find anything on the net, does anyone know what the outcome was? Its stupid because it doesn’t actually affect me but its keeping me awake at night.Does anyone remember it?
