Terrell Owens suing porn site

Terrell Owens was recently in Miami and walked into the middle of a porn photo shoot outside and they captured his picture and then put it on their website insinuating that Owens loves porn and is thinking about pursuing a career in the industry.
So in response to that Owens’ lawyer has issued the web site a cease-and-desist letter. “All this was designed to bring embarrassment to him in his professional and personal capacity, and subject him to ridicule,” reads the angry two-page missive from lawyer Allen Lerner. The clear meaning and innuendo is that Mr. Owens was actively and consensually participating in a porn site – a lie.” The beaming Owens was unaware when the snapshot was taken that it would appear on the Web or link him to the adult entertainment industry, Lerner wrote. The porn site kept the picture up despite the cease-and-desist letter.
Mediaoutrage- That is wrong though to use his image without his consent to promote the consumption of more porn. They don’t even need to do that, porn is the #1 industry in this country and it didn’t earn that spot by having athletes and other celebrities run endorsement commercials. They don’t need it, that 18 yr old boy is going to disappear to the back of the video store regardless and then walk out with like two bukk naked videos and go over to the regular movie section and grab Men In Black, Menace II Society and Pretty Woman to mix the bukk naked videos in so no one behind him in line can just see Karina Does Kansas.

I dont’ blame TO. He need to clear his name. He has had enough bad press and doesn’t need this. The folk ought to be ashamed because like you said its not like they need celebrities endorsing their products. It does what it does all on its on.

So I just read this article and your claim that TO is “considering a career in [porn]” got me intrigued. In the 10 mins I’ve spent googling I was able to disprove most of your story.
It was a gossip site (thedirty.com) that took the photo from an adult site, watermarked it with their own information, identified Mr. Owens (when he had previously not been identified) and wrote that “TO loves porn”. Even that website never claimed he was “pursuing a career in [porn]“, which is just ridiculous for you to editorialize and then submit as fact. Next anyone with eyes can see that TO’s legal team sent a demand letter to the gossip site not a lawsuit. Finally, there are numerous articles about how the porn site has not kept the photo up. It’s the gossip site that has kept the photo up and has, in fact, written a new article in response to the cease and desist which is possibly even dumber than this article.
I know you’re a gossip site, but come on… Don’t just make stuff up.

I don’t watch football much. But how come the Eagles just waive Terrell Owens? Especially after he lead the Eagles into the Superbowl. Couldn’t they get something for him? How come they couldn’t tade him? I know he was being an ass and everything but so was Ron Artest in the NBA. And at least the Pacers got Peja for him. Why does the NFL just waive? Sorry, I don’t watch the NFL much.
