Remember when TV was good???
Posted by Media Outrage on May 7, 2008
The Academy of Television, Arts, & Sciences presented a Mother’s Day salute to TV moms yesterday in Hollywood. Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert from A Different World), Diahann Carroll (Whitley Gilbert’s mom on A Different World) Tichina Arnold ( Pam from Martin, and mom on Everybody Hates Chris), Charlotte Rae (Ms. Garrett on Different Strokes), Erin Moran (Joan on Happy Days), and Marion Ross (Mary Anne on Happy Days) all attended the event. Those were some good shows. Dag where was our girl Phylicia Rashad who was the best TV mom ever as Claire Huxtable? It’s definitely time for a reunion for a lot of the old good shows such as, What’s Happening, The Jeffersons, Different Strokes, The Dukes of Hazzard, and the list just goes on. Let us know what your favorite shows of all time are. We want to know.

Man oh man those were the good ole days. I can remember sitting in front of the tv for hours watching those shows. Lawd I remember Mrs. Garrett, but I loved her on The Facts of Life. I got fond memories from all of these shows.BET has been showing A Different World at night. That is the only time I turn on that ignorant station.
My favorite show of all time is A Different World. It was because of this show that I chose an HBCU to attend. The Cosby Show and The Facts of Life rank 2nd together. I sooo wanted to be Tootie. I could go on and on.

I remember the good days of television. I barely watch tv anymore because of the grotesque display it has become. I loved the days of The Cosby Show, A Different World, Dif’rent Strokes, Facts of Life, Gimme A Break, San & Son, The Jefferson, I Love Lucy, The Fred and Ethel Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, etc. Granted most of these shows I have seen in syndication because I am under 30 years old but I miss the days of family sitcoms. The “reality show” fad that has taken over the television programming just doesn’t cut it for me.
