Ok folks we want to hear from you on this one. In your opinion who is the bigger movie star as in who’s more famous Denzel or Will Smith??? Not who’s the better actor well you can voice that opinion also but who is the bigger star?

Goodmorning everyone! I would have to say that Will Smith is a bigger star than Denzel in my opinion based off of the fact that the movies he has played in have mostly been huge blockbusters. Im just willing to bet that more people around the world know who Will Smith is compared to Denzel. Now Denzel is by far the better actor in my opinion.

Denzel is the bigger star Lai’Lani. He has been in the business far longer than Will Smith. Denzel has more power in Hollywood than Will does.A longer movie catalogue.I think they are equal in acting ability but Denzel is the bigger star

I think it would depend solely on your definition of “Star”. If we are talking about popularity and just known factor it would have to be Will Smith. If we are talking about time in the business and power factor it would have to be Denzel. I think Will is trying to move into the arena that Denzel is in when it comes to business and power and being able to have folk begging him to act and direct (think Harvey Weinstein or Spike Lee). When you look at Denzel’s filmography and then look at Will’s there is just no comparison.

I must say hello to everyone. I read this site usually everyday i get a chance but not everyday because my job doesn’t allow us to peruse the internet all the time only when work is slow. But W2m, Sweetthang, B.Price, and Kristina make the most intelligent comments all the time without cursing or just debasing the celebs that mediaoutrage post about. W2m that was well spoken. very well spoken. And that is a toughie right there. Hmm I’m going to say w2m said it best, Will has this popularity factor that spans over different generations. He has fans that grew up on his music/show and people now that catch the Fresh Prince repeats at night. Now they’re going to see his movies, his fan base is growing. But no one can deny Denzel keep churning out good movies and making aunties sweat so they’re really both up there. It’s really hard to compare those two!

But for now I would say Will Smith is only bigger because he can bring in a younger audience. Denzel is a better method actor, but Will has more of a commercial draw.

Both are big stars in my book..the only thing that separates them is an Oscar. But Will smith is following the footstep of Denzel…just like Denzel Followed in the steps of Sidney Poitier. It’s just sad that I can’t think of other big black actors like them. Help me out people.

I pretty much can co-sign with most everything that’s been said, especially with DT. I think that pretty much sums it up, Denzel is a very passionate method actor. Will is coming into his own so far as that is concerned and I think this was most evident in his role as Muhammad Ali some years back when he owned that role.
Will also has a greater appeal to a younger generation the grew up listening to his music, and watching his show, so again will has that to his credit and “star power” where as Denzel has made a name for himself in some of the quintessential movies of our time. So there’s a pretty big gap between the type of actors they are. Will is moving slowly into Denzel’s shoes though, it’s only a matter of time before that mantel is passed.
