Assassinated for telling the truth

Posted by Media Outrage on May 14, 2008

A few months ago Foxnews decided to play snippets of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s sermons that seemed to depict him preaching hate and anti patriotism. At first it was only Foxnews and some of their racist people inundating unsuspecting viewers with sound bites of messages that when heard led millions to assume Rev. Jeremiah Wright was an angry, racist, anti-American, hate spewing preacher, who just happened (Just happened) to be Sen. Barack Obama’s Pastor. Foxnews new very well what they were doing, which was attempting to assassinate Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s character, thus, hurting Barack Obama (since they haven’t been able to find anything on him yet) in the public eye.

It was sort of surprising to see how the media ran with this weak story and never once played his full sermons for the people to actually hear what he was really saying. Any statements taken out of context can easily be painted as malicious or nefarious. Rev. Wright was attacked for saying that the U.S. Government launched terrorist attacks on other countries, and that 9/11 was possibly the result of the spiritual law (that does exist folks) “GOD is not mock, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” That simply means that you get back what you put out. He was also attacked for saying that the Government could have possibly created the AIDS virus and injected it into peoples of color, and he supported his theory with the FACT that the US Government during the Tuskegee Experiement in which black men were injected with certain STDs. And why does this surprise anyone possessing the knowledge of the racist history of this country? Some people probably find it unbelievable when they read about how African Americans were treated in this country since the inhumane institution of Slavery but that doesn’t make it untrue. Well anyway here is something interesting to read that the U.S. Government has done to people concerning injections of drugs. Read here. We’re not done about Rev. Wright

Let’s take a journey down memory lane and think about a few men that have spoken blatant truth and been assassinated for it. First person that comes to mind is JESUS. We all know that his death had a purpose and was pre ordained but it still had a lot to do with the fact that he spoke the truth. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke the truth to this openly racist government as he led blacks out of the Jim Crow era of bigotry, hatred, and violence. Dr. King spoke out against the Vietnam War and not too long after this man of peace and love was assassinated, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Rev. Jeremiah Wright is having his character assassinated by the same racist media that claims to promote and deliver truth.

We understand as does Rev. Wright, why Barack Obama has distanced himself from Wright. He is running for the highest elected office in the land and cannot afford to have masses of “ignorant” people start jumping ship because of an association with a man who speaks the “truth”. But please be our guest and listen to some of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s messages for yourself if you have the time and can stomach a little truth. You be the judge.

    There were so many clips, but i will say this, Rev. Wright speaks the truth. I just wish he would wait until after the general election.

  3. Yeah he hurts Obama deeply….But he speaks the truth and I dont want to offend any more whites like I did in the other posts…(much love to W2M and sweetthang & La!)

    Well said MO! I’ve always thought the whole Rev Wright thing was a load of bull for the simple fact is that most of what he was saying was the truth. Hilary would NOT know anything about a racist America because um…well we know the obvious. There were a ton of facts he was spittin that was hard to disagree with.

    The only thing i didn’t like about this situation is the fact that the good Rev needed to step back into the spotlight and address the media. There was no need for that, and I thought (and still believe) it was in bad taste. As well as stepped out of his purpose and reached out for his five minutes of fame….i’m pretty sure he could’ve been doing something more productive or what God’s plan is for him now that he’s retired rather then be draw into that circus.

    Hey B. Price i disagree. Foxnews attacked this man a few months ago when they ran snippets of sermons of his from 2001 and 2002 so they started killing this dude without cause and he kept his mouth shut even when Barack (the sellout yes i said the dude is a sell out for jumping ship on his pastor just cause the white media put pressure on him can anyone say house negroe?) denounced him. Rev. Wright never said anything and then they invited him to clear some things up so i say it is human nature to want to defend yourself. HE didn’t nor is he hurting Barack, every media outlet in the USA even this site is saying that Hillary can’t win so how is dude hurting Barack? Like he said Barack makes decisions based on trying to get elected into office. Rev. Wright said he is a pastor every day and has to do GOD’s will. So nah i disagree the timeing was perfect cause Barack sure didnt defend him which is a shame man.

    @Debonair Boy: I never said he was hurting Barack. I only said that I don’t feel as though he needed to do that, he should have (IMO) taken the higher route and let God deal with those media clowns. He fell right into the trap, the media WANTED to draw him out and have him make that spectacle on TV that he did. As a leader you’ve got to be aware and have clear understanding that people are going to attack you, your character, and the things that you say. There’s a time to speak and defend yourself, and then there’s a time to step back and let those idiots that are trying to destroy you wear themselves out and let your character speak for itself.

    You don’t lower yourself down to their level, you keep your character and reputation in tact to the people that it matters most, not to the mainstream. What did the good Rev. Wright accomplish in addressing the media? How did he bring more people to Christ? What kind of example did he set as being a leader in the church (representation of Christ) and a man of God to THE WORLD mind you.

    I see what you’re saying. Well i sort of agree with that. But i think if Barack weren’t running for President and Rev. Wright would have spoken out and explained his sermons, that people wouldn’t have said that he was shucking and jiving. I just think it has a lot to do with the fact that he was aligned with Obama.

    @B.Price, Preach Preacha. I concur.
