The art of avoidance

Posted by Media Outrage on May 17, 2008

Akon spoke to MTV News about the report that the SmokingGun released a few weeks ago claiming that the locked up past he sings about was false. Akon claimed that he ran a car thieving ring for years and that he did four and a half years in prison for it. The Smokinggun says not so. They say reports claim he stole one car and only did a few months in lockup. Here’s what he had to say to MTV news concerning the SmokingGun pulling his cards.

Via MTV:

“It’s an article,” he said. “Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions and views. At the end of the day, the Konvict movement is keeping me out of jail. It’s nothing I want to glorify or go back to. Honestly, I’m glad something like that came out, because it opens the minds of other people who’re thinking positive.

“We’re doing so many positive things,” ‘Kon continued. “To go back and focus and put energy on negative things like that, to try to discredit an artist, it makes no sense to me. If there was a motive for it, it would be worth entertaining. I’d rather keep it the way it is and leave the article out there. It only helps me. It’s not something I was trying to glorify or turn back to. It was something I was trying to forget. Actually, it worked out for me in a positive way.”

Mediaoutrage- We know he was probably squirming like a muthaf*cka while giving this interview. That’s what happens when you lie about your life and then promote that lie to millions. And notice the coy way that he tried to spin it as if the SmokingGun’s report that exposed his ass was a good thing. LOL Come on just come out and admit it. No he can’t do that because then he’d be telling all of his fans “look my sh*t is fake yall, straight up, but I’m still a talented cat yall…come on don’t do that, don’t stop buying my sh*t please cause I really don’t have a block to go back to, oh by the way my real name is Wayne Jivvers and I really grew up in Beverly Hill….sh*t!” What we just witnessed was the art of avoidance.
