Nas changes album title

Posted by Media Outrage on May 19, 2008

Looks like Nassir Jones has folded like under the pressure like warm sheets. It is being reported that Nas’s upcoming album that he had named “N*gger” has been changed.

Via Hollywoodinsider:

A representative for Def Jam has confirmed to EW.com that hip-hop artist Nas has made an eleventh-hour decision to change the title of his new album from N—– to simply Nas.

Everybody is trying to stop the title…. Record stores are gonna have a problem in this day and time selling a record with that title. Who knows what’s gonna turn out and be on that title? Who knows what that title will be?” The politically-charged Nas is due in stores July 1.

Mediaoutrage- Well so much for him being a rebel. That sh*t lasted for a few good months and he milked all of the positive and negative publicity from it but now it’s time to really prove to people what ya music is made of. Another publicity stunt down the drain. Now the sh*t is just gonna be called Nas geeez how disappointing, what a let down lol.

Also, Weather changing it back to just “Nas” or nigger wont help his record sales cause the company might balk on promoting it……

I agree that he shouldn’t have called it that, but I would’ve respected him more as a man if he had carried out what he intended to do. He shouldn’t have allowed other people to dictate what he was going to call is album. Lost some street credit for that IMHO.
