Alicia Keys was looking flawless over the weekend as she performed at the MGM. We’re definitely feeling her lipstick color and the way it blends in with her facial makeup. We want to know from you music experts Who do you feel is a better singer vocally wise without the music or studio touchups…who has the better voice Alicia Keys or Yasmine T’s girl Beyonce???

Morning everyone!! Sorry, but Beyonce is better vocally in my opinion, her range, her projection, her tone, everything, I only care for Beyonce as an artist, not as a person, but her voice is killer. Alicia Keys is just okay to me, she can play the hell out of that piano, but her voice is a bit too scratchy, I liked her old stuff better than the new, but she is just ok to me

Sweetthang i dont know who you are but sista you hit more than the nail on the head. you hit the whole f*ckin piece of Ply-Wood! Alicia is an ok singer. Her songs are killa they all make sense and have meaning and her music sounds great and soulful but her voice is just ok to me and i have heard her live like 3 times and she is just ok. I have never heard Bey live but just from listening BEe clearly has the better voice.

I agree with Sweetthang. Even though Alicia is classically trained her voice seems harsh/scratchy at times. Like she has been screaming and is about to lose her voice. She has a beautiful voice and I like her music, but I have to say I can listen to Beyonce all day long and not get tired of her voice. I do feel that they are different types of artist though too.
When I think of soulful, I think of old time church. Beyonce definitely sings like that. Alicia…not so much, but everybody got their take on this.

@ Udamnright, LOL at the piece of plywood!! I’m a musician and have been for about 18 years so I’m tough on other artists and musicians, musically alicia keys is great, but not singing wise, sorry, she just don’t cut it. I’ve heard Alicia Keys sing several times live and it sounds like she strains in her vocal cords which I understand why she’s been having problems, if you are a professional singer, you must sing from your diaphram and not your throat, singers like Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, and the list goes on and on, actually sing the proper way, so you get a full and rich TONE, TONE is the key word, and Alicia does not have TONE in her voice. Ok sorry, that’s my music lesson for the day!

Hey W2m, morning girl! Alicia has only had classical piano training, not classical vocal training. There is a big difference between vocal training and “classical” training. You know what I think, when record label executives found her, they were like, she’s gorgeous and she can play that piano like no other, but can she sing? so she probably sung a little and they felt they could work with her since she was so talented in other areas, or that’s just how my vivid imagination works, LOL it probably didn’t even go down like that!

Girl don’t you get me started. Back in the day I had a singing group that that I also managed. We were all plus-size and this was in the day when SWV was just coming out. He had the whole demo package (professional I might add) and met folk like Brian McKnight, Boys II Men, Teddy Riley, R. Kelly, but because of our look, we weren’t given the time of day. Its all about image and if they can sell it. The image of the day and most any day when it comes to the entertainment industry is “Sex”.
