Axel Foley’s on his way back

Eddie Murphy is bringing his character Axel Foley back in Beverly Hills part 4.

On the heels of the successful revival of the “Indiana Jones” franchise, Paramount has set in motion a fourth installment of “Beverly Hills Cop.”
Eddie Murphy is attached to reprise his role as Detroit detective Axel Foley, and Brett Ratner is negotiating to direct.
Studio is aiming for a 2009 production start and a summer 2010 release.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original “Beverly Hills Cop” trilogy with late partner Don Simpson, won’t be actively involved in the new film.Murphy approached the studio about reviving the franchise that cemented his status as a B.O. mega-star. Par brass were eager to land another picture with Murphy after he finished the Karey Kilpatrick-directed “Nowhereland,” which Paramount releases in June 2009.
Released in 1984, the original “Beverly Hills Cop” grossed $316 million worldwide and spawned two sequels. All told, the three pics grossed $712.9 million worldwide. The last was released in 1994.
Mediaoutrage- Part 3 had wack juice all over it so hopefully they can get this thing poppin for real this time and pick up where part 2 left off with the hilarious danger and action. What yall think?

I didn’t see Beverly Hills Cop 3. I thought 2 was good, but when I saw the clips of 3 it wasn’t something I wanted to see. I don’t see this as something that will do well in the theaters. Paramount is wasting their money.

I am so sick of all these pt II, III and IV’s. Please leave it alone, if I and II were hits then just leave it alone. I don’t think I even saw Beverly Hills Cop III (cause II was weak)!
Eddie, needs to write a check for Spice Girl for child support or something! Stop trying to revive your acting career…it’s OVA!
And the new Indiana Jones movie was so predictable and a waste of money!
