$4 Billion Venture?

We know we know lol lol lol you’re ready to Roll On The Floor And Laugh While Doing The Harlem Shake. Us too. Well anyway Damon Dash and wife/designer Rachel Roy are launching a clothing venture that they say will be worth $4 billion. We’re not doubting their entrepreneurial prowess, it just sounds funny to hear. Oh well anyway to the news….

Now Roy, who is married to Dame and the mother of his daughter, is following Dash’s lead with the mega clothing venture just announced today between her, Dame, Jones Apparel Group and TSM Capital LLC. The venture is half owned by Jones Apparel, and the other half is split between Roy, Dash and TSM.
“Both Rachel and her clothing appeal to many audiences around the world, making her a widely renowned design talent.”
Dame said. “Through this partnership, we will be able to explore new opportunities for Rachel Roy, the brand.”
The line is currently available in luxury department stores and select specialty stores including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks, as well as internationally.
Mediaoutrage- Ladies do you own any of the Rachel Roy line? And if so do you feel it? We already know how a lot of you feel about House of Dereon. SMH.

No, I don’t own any of it, not rich yet, but her clothing line is very hot, I’ve seen many celebs where it, it’s very very classy with a touch of couture, but not over doing it. She’s got A-list celebs white and black wearing her clothes so she’s doing something right, you don’t see Julia Roberts rocking Dereon, it’s whack. If you’re gonna design clothes, do it right

I’d rather wear a House of Dereon thong on backwards then wear that expensive garbage Rachel Roy designs. I don’t know about no A list celebs wearing her stuff, in fact I’ve never seen anyone other than herself wear it but that’s cool. As long as they don’t really believe that they’re going to act make 4 bill off that mess then do ya thang.

Well good luck to them !!!! Ralph lauren was establish in 1965 (i think). Today the company is worth $2.3 billions. Took Mr. Lauren 43 years to accomplish that. so it might take those two 80 years to accomplish the same. The company will be worth $4 billions aright, but they and their kids will be looooooooooooooooooong dead !!! GOOD LUCK

I don’t see any clothing line being worth billions at this point and time unless it has been out before the recession. I am sure they made a great deal though, but not 4 billion dollars worth (with the Dash’s getting 500 Million)
Looks like Dame and Jay are still doing their thing, albeit separately. Not sure what “Biggs” is doing (the 3rd person of the Roc Team)

In what lifetime is she going to to have that type of deal. It takes business years and years and even more years to establish that type of worth. I gotta see this on paper to believe it.
