Solange was captured spending quality time with her son Daniel at the Essence Music Festival where she performed. We hope Solange’s musical quest is a success just like her older sister’s. Will any of you be copping her album when it drops? Solange seems to enjoy motherhood which is cool.

People often throw around the word LOVE not realizing that it is an ACTION WORD, and not simply a warm goody goody emotion. This is one of the best articles we have read recently. We know we pump jokes about celebrities all day but sometimes its just good to throw some substance out there that might actually have an effect on readers. To read something of substance and gain a better understanding of a display of real LOVE click here. You might want to ask yourself do you EVER go out of your way for your fellow man? Hold a door, smile and say good morning, observe a need that you are within your means to meet and meet it without expecting it to be ran on the evening news, do good to those that pass you by that you might impact someone’s life in a positive way?

The 2008 Essence Music Festival has kicked off down in New Orleans at the Super Dome a few days ago. Rihanna performed on the 4th. Solange and her Daddy seemed to be enjoying their selves. Keishia Knight Pulliam is still looking right. Just check out all the photos cause there’s a bunch of them.

Tyler Perry and Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey were spotted vacationing like real cake a holics do, down in Portofino, Italy. Just in case you forgot Oprah earned $275million last year alone as she topped the celebrities famous and powerful list once again. Tyler didn’t do too bad himself, he rolled in $125million. Eva Mendes was recently interviewed by Interview Magazine about her stint in rehab and substance abuse. The individual conducting the interview stepped a little out of pocket in her opinion and she called him on it.
Interview’s David Colman: Now let’s talk about substance abuse. My favorite topic.
Eva Mendes: Great.
DC: First of all, what is it with actors and substance abuse?
EM: I don’t know. I’m not a spokesperson for any kind of substance-abuse organization.
DC: They’re going to have to change the name of it to “Alcoholics Unanimous.”
EM: [silence]
DC: I’m sorry, that’s a bad joke.
EM: I’m not making jokes, because people die from this stuff. So, honestly, I think it’s a bit tacky that you made a joke. I’ve got to be honest.
DC: You’re angry. Listen . . .
EM: I’m not angry. People have died, and I’ve lost friends too–even recently. So I can be a little
sensitive on the subject.

According to reports by the Nydailynews, Usher seems to be in quiet talks with his mother Jonetta Patton about her possible return as his manager and career guide. You might ask what would lead to such a move? His latest album Here I Stand sold 433,000 copies in its first week, which was disappointing to Usher especially after watching Lil’ Wayne make it rain with more than 1million sales in its first week. Usher’s current manager is Benny Medina, the man who directed the careers of Mariah Carey and J-Lo. It’s also rumored that Usher was concerned about the 5.8million viewers that tuned into watch the BET Awards which he headlined compared to the 6.3million that salivated when Beyonce headlined last year. Momma knows best.
