Tyler Perry and Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey were spotted vacationing like real cake a holics do, down in Portofino, Italy. Just in case you forgot Oprah earned $275million last year alone as she topped the celebrities famous and powerful list once again. Tyler didn’t do too bad himself, he rolled in $125million. Rocksee, I definitely agree that O is about to take Tyler to the next level. I’m thinking its film, but who knows at this point. Because she is such a visionary and he is also in his own right, I think the sky’s the limit with either of them.
I’m leaning toward film myself but I agree it probably won’t be for another year or two before we hear about it. I can see her executive producing something he might do. Again who knows, but I think there is definitly something in the wind.
I would sell a limb to get to work with either of them to be honest.

I hope she can put Tyler on with some writing and story skills because 75% of his material im not feeling…I know I come off raunchy telling a good story and being funny is important. He’s making money and Im not mad at that but his material is wack…..

I loved his plays and movies. I think he has struggled with his television show mainly because of the medium and the disconnect between the audience and the writing. You can’t write for television like you write for stage.
All and all though he deserves kudos for doing what very few black folk have been able to do and thats put a show on television and have complete control.
Now what I’m waiting on is the Fall season so I can watch “The Game”.

Yeah, his comedy is rather dry…I have never been a Madea fan. I’ve never really cared for it, most of it I just don’t get.

NE WHO! Yeah Tyler Perry just needs some help with the writing because the concept of the show and the storylines are great but the dialogue and the humor is reeeeaaaalllll wack!

I get his brand of comedy but it’s from the 70’s and 80’s like from the Jefferson’s and Good Times. His plays are straight chitlin circuit and put us back 50 years. He’s ok but not great like Chris Rock Or Dave Chappelle. He a great businessman though.

I think you are right about the dialogue and the humor. It looses something between the script and the actual taping. Don’t know what it is.

DT i have to disagree with you honey, i love Tyler Perry’s writing material. All of his plays are spectacular and well written and he selects the absolute best actors and actresses for them. His movies are pretty good also but lets not forget he is not working with the level of hollywood budgets that other white directors and film makers are. He did this from the ground up. Now his show is terrible and i will admit that. But his stuff is hot.
