Young actress Jurnee Smollett attended the Cinema Society and Glamour Screening of “Elegy” at the Tribeca Grand Screening Room last night in NY. Jurnee hit the floor running in her breakout role in The Great Debaters. How do you feel her acting skills?

I have one of her first movies, “Eve’s Bayou” with Samuel Jackson and Lynn Whitfield…if you ask me that was her break out performance! Although she was extremely young when she did that film her acting was superior then and it remains the same today!

i love her. remember she use to be on family matters as one of michelles friends. and remember she has like a whole lot of brothers and sisters and they had a show. but i agree that eve’s bayou was her breakout. i love that movie. i still watch it on hbo.
