Thats a great thing! A pair of $300 sneaks are ridiculous to those who cannot afford them but necessities to those who can. That’s the beauty of America you can forge out on your own and create a business worth hundreds of millions there by making anything affordable.

@Jasper..even if I could afford to spend a $1M on something…a bottle of WINE would be the furthest thing from my mind..you might as well burn your money!! I certainly wouldn’t consider wine as a ‘necessity’.

Hey Random, their are so many things in this country (USA) that we use on a daily that we consider necessities that others living in 3rd world countries view as luxuries, so as with most things it is based on perception and lifestyle. I personally do not consider wine a necessity either but have buddies that can’t live without it socially.

@Jasper I hear you..I just find it ridiculous that anyone would even consider throwing away so much money on a bottle of wine..rather than investing that money or hell even donating it to charity..but I guess if you can afford it…you can do whatever the hell you want with it.

Yes exactly think about how much money a person who earns $700 a week waste on useless things without donating a single dime to charity. So it is the same thing just on another level. Trust and believe if you had the net worth of some of these billionaires you wouldn’t think twice about spending a million on anything for that matter because it’s within your means to do so.

Having large amounts of money changes ones outlook on life just a tad.

Even if i were worth $100million I’m with Random i would not throw a million away on wine. And i love wine but still would be very mindful in wasting that kind of money. But Jasper your points are noted.

Jasper you are so right man! I know people i work with that spend $300-$400 on a pair of jeans and thats nothing to them.Its what they’re accustomed to because that’s what they like and can afford.
$200 sneaks, $400 jackets, but he can afford all of that but to someone not on that level would say that’s wasteful.
$1million is pocket change to a Jay-Z, Oprah, or Will Smith.

Jasper and Kimm..I do understand both of your points…However, you can’t really compare $300-$400 dollars to $1M..a Person can do so much more with a Million bucks than they can with say a couple hundred or even thousand..I just don’t see how anyone in their right mind would even think of spending so much money on a BOTTLE OF WINE…aa couple hundred on a special occasion maybe..but a million..seriously now..

Hi Random, I just found this site today a bud of mine emailed the link to me and I’m already intrigued by the open dialogs that take place.
While some of us might view the purchase of a $1million bottle of wine as wasteful, i really believe that is due to the tax bracket that we might belong to lol.
If we speak on billionaires such as a Michael Dell (Dell Computers) or a Warren Buffet (Berkshire Hathaway) whose net worths are upwards of $13billion one must ask what is $1million to such an individual?
The same as in this country where we spend $150 for a pair of Jordans but in a 3rd world country that is unfathomable and asinine to them. It’s all about class and what you have that forms your opinions on what is deemed wasteful and ridiculous.

I thought the economy was jacked up. The Economy is just fine, its just that most of the money is distrubuted to about 15 different people. And anybody who can buy a 1 million dollar bottle of brandy or a Billion dollar house is one of those 15 people. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that they all sold their soul.
