Oprah.. hands down is the most powerful woman in the world and generations know her. In the next decade (2010-2020) Madonna will be like what Cher is today. OLD! Oprah transcends generations and has more staying power.

Madonna cant be the bigger celebrity these teens dont know her. Nor will my 9 year old or 6 year old. She was more famous but Oprah is on every day and Madonna isnt slinging records anymore…….

I still say Madonna…Oprah may be on everyday…and she may have many viewers in the US..but WORLDWIDE..Madonna’s a legend…like Michael Jackson…they don’t necessarily have to put anything out (as far as new music)…they’re very well known by the older as well as younger generation..just my opinion though!!

Oprah is most definitely without a doubt the bigger celebrity. The woman comes on TV everyday in over 130 countries. Has been the highest rated talk show for the past 19 or 20 years. Anything she touches or even mentions goes through the stratosphere…yep Oprah

I have to say Oprah Winfrey is the bigger celebrity. Not only does she rule television ratings, hollywood pay checks, but just think how every star desires to be a guest on her show. Her show alone is bigger than Madonna. It helps Madonna out more by being a guest than it does Oprah. That right there.

Alright so before I could actually answer this question, I had to get educated. I looked up the word “Celebrity” in Webster’s Dictionary. Bare with me for a minute.
The word “celebrity” comes from the word “celebrated”; which means: widely known and often referred to.
So with that, my opinion would have to rest with Oprah.

I really dont give a rats ass , but if you put a gun to my head I would say Oprah. Madonna’s star power was built primarily on contraversial issues and its easy to get exposure that way because America loves smut, dirt and scandals but to do it positivley is much much harder.
