The fact that these schools are considered the best does not mean that they have smarter or more talented students. These schools are ranked by their dropout rate or lack there of. The kids that can afford to go these schools dont have to worry about having to drop out due to the inability to pay tuition which is the primary reason that most students dropout. Another thing that keeps these school on top are the fact that as soon as a student starts to show signs of having difficulty they are assigned a tutor by the university. This ensures that the ivy leage schools maintain the lowest dropout rates. Their dropout rate stands at 3 percent. So the moral of this story is, make a lot of money so that you can buy a degree for you kids because white people have been buying their kids degree for a long time.

Sounds like another hater that can’t or couldn’t afford to attend any of these prestigious universities that have contributed the core talent to this country. Just say it some people are not smart enough to learn on the level with the intellectually elite. Enough said.

Why does it matter what color this person is? Hell I’m blue! So based on that, u can anticipate every comment I’m going to make? GTFOH! Oh yea, BTW, just because someone’s opinion does NOT mirror your own does NOT make them a hater. It makes them the same as you, just a person with an opinion. I know from experience you can attend the best school in your state and still receive a poor education…it all depends on your experience! I discovered that smaller campuses and educational facilities were appropriate for ME..not the location or the cost of the school!!

Like Smurfette:I also want to wish every one of my MO family a good weekend. And to that person calling themselves the truth, I never wanted to attend an Ivy league school because when I was in the process of choosing a school to attend one of the most important things to me was attend a school that had students that shared my same interests and beliefs, So an Ivy league school didnt fit that mold. So I honestly say, I have no regrets about attending a HBC. I never had Ivy league asperations, I would have been uncomfortable at those schools.
And to all my people here on MO, I know that we are all strong in the struggle so knowing that its you all that Im in the fox hole with is the best thing in the world.

You then proceed to insult the facilitators of this site (not that they care) as well as the readers by lobbing words such as self-righteous, god-forsaken and snarky. In which I might ask the famed question: Why are you here?
Facts are facts. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, 62.4% of all black students are likely to drop out of college due to financial difficulties. This is true of only 48.3% of all white students. The dropout rate is 20% higher for blacks than for whites. It is not untrue that a lot of schools pad their retention rates to look as they do, especially the Ivy League schools. Truth is money talks. How do I know, I work for a institution of higher learning where we have 32% more whites than blacks and the retention rates among blacks are going up, but nowhere near high or what was reported. Now none of this even brings into question the chances of a black person getting into Yale versus a white person, research for yourself, then you do the math.
And if we are talking about the intellectually elite then you might want to question why Yale gave George Bush any kind of paper resembling a certificate of degree, judging from the state this country is in.

I may joke around,however on a serious note,a lot of the black universities turn out graduates that match those from so called best colleges. Becasue you pay more and the name is well known does not make it the top college in the USA. With that being said, i think Hampton University is a very good Historical Black College. I am open to who you all think is another Historical very good Black College and it really does not have to be a Black College.

This idiot is mad because not only do we have fun here on MO but we also share our knowledge with eachother. The fact that we share makes some people scared because the sharing of knowledge is power.
