Sen. Barack Obama Accepts Democratic Nomination!
Posted by Media Outrage on August 29, 2008
Yes last night history was made in this country, exactly 45 years after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s historical “I Have A Dream” speech, which he delivered in Washington D.C.. Senator Barack Obama became the first African American or minority for that matter, to accept the nomination from the Democratic party. Many people are probably experiencing all kinds of emotions right now seeing how far we have come as a people in this country, both black and white. It was and still is a very proud day! Congrats to Sen. Barack Obama and his family! And congrats to all of the people out there Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, and every other, that have contributed to change in this country! Dr. King would be so proud. You can peep Part 2 and Part 3 of his speech by clicking here and here.

It was indeed a historic and extraordinary event. I was so proud of him. We are posed as a country to make history and take our country back.

2020VIZN, I agree that there is something about sharing a birthdate with someone great. President Obama gives us so much hope as a race….Human that I could do nothing last night but beam. The night before when Hillary suspended the vote tears just rolled down my face. Now the real work begins. Lets get folk registered and get out the vote.

I am so happy for Barak Obama and his family. Our country has come a long way. I am so happy that so many people in this country are realizing the change that this country has to make in order to move forward. It ALMOST made me shed a tear yesterday! EVERYBODY needs to get out and vote…we can NOT have another 4 years of “Bush” and his STUPID policies.
Obama had me cracking up when he was talking about McCain and comparing their polices!

I was truly inspired last nite. I will never forget that speech! Such a great time for African Americans as well as all Americans but to see the change after 45 years is amazing! Obama ‘08
