@ Yea I Said It: No thnk you. If you will allow me to tell you a line fro the movie hustle and flow that explains the way I view you. “I got love for you, not like a man loves a woman. I got love for you because tou gat balls, big ole gorilla balls” I think you should look into a public servent, not necessarily a politician, but an activist or something like that because you are a leader. @2020, Now I know somebody else understands… Thank you, Someone said to me not everything is about race, in my world it is, not because I make it so but when you live and breathe issues with race everyday it becomes a wall put up to keep ignorance out.I look at Sen Obama and often wonder how many times he has to deal with the color of his skin when he would rather deal with the issues that affect us all.It becomes hard to keep up on a daily base, and not become the people I despise, which would make me no better than them. When i read where somebody gets what i am saying and understand its all good. So I thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

@ Yea I Said It: My situation isnt exactly like yours but to make a long story short. My mother and father are black but my father Married a white woman when I was 12 years old, I lived with him for two years after he married her. It was hell because the difference in race was always an issue for some reason. Her parents were not fond of blacks and people on my mother’s side of the family wanted to know why wasnt a black woman good enough for him to marry. I know that there are good people on both sides of the rainbow but people still dont like to accept you for who you are without judging you by looks and stereotypes and that is sad. But Thank you for sharing with me because I have the same frustrations and feelings that you have. But I know you are a strong woman and there is no need to tell you to keep on pushing because I know that you will and so will I. Im strong in the struggle with you ma!

Everyone’s vote counts. We have got to stop this backwards thought process that 1 vote dosent matter. One less vote for Obama is 1 more for McCaine. This niggarific slavery mentality prevented voters in Miss, Ala. And GA in the earlier part of the 20th Century and it’s still going on. Damn wake the hell up people!!!!!

(yes, i made up a word called “niggarific” because that’s what we are when we dont vote!)

Here’s something to think about: You say that your vote doesn’t count and won’t make or break the outcome of this very important election. Think about how many other young black men and women are thinking the same thing and then subtract them from the voting booths on November 4th, and you have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of intelligent able bodied voices that won’t speak. Trust and believe there are thousands of people thinking the same exact thoughts that you have expressed on this site. So in reality your vote does count.

Thank you Yasmine for your comments and you make a lot of sense.

Believe me I don’t give up when I think there is a chance to change injustice.

Trust me when I say I wish with ALL my heart for this man to be elected President and continues TO STAY IN OFFICE and make effective the policies he holds dear to his heart to make significant changes for all, but there is a “hold back” feeling in my heart and I am going to follow that. I just have a bad feeling about this.

There are not a lot of people who feel this way, that is why I say my vote is not going to make or break who wins this election.

Thank you for your concern and I hope my reluctance concerning this matter turns out to be false. I really do.

Hi Yvonne,

I want to say that every vote does count. As MO keeps stating our fore fathers had dogs sicked on them, were lynched, spit on, brutally attacked, and killed for you and I to have the opportunity to vote in any ELECTION. I won’t come at you but will say that it is almost like YOU spitting in their faces when you refuse to take part and express your voice. Yes we are all aware that it takes more than the President to change the country, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible.

As far as his life; I pray for the man every chance I get, and I know I’m not alone. He has millions of people praying for the safety of he and his family everyday. I trust GOD period and point blank. When our people were enslaved it didn’t look like we’d ever be free, but that didn’t stop our brave ancestors from continuing to FIGHT FOR OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO BE FREE AND EQUAL. Back then we faced way more opposition than we do now. When they finally signed that bull sh*t Emancipation Proclamation that Lincoln didn’t really want to sign with his racist ass, we still weren’t really free, but that didn’t stop our ancestors from fighting to achieve complete EQUALITY. So why should we stop FIGHTING NOW? It’s an insult to ALL WHO CAME BEFORE US AND SUFFERED FOR THIS IF WE STOP NOW.
