Profound Comments

Posted by Media Outrage on October 6, 2008

An M.O. reader left a very profound comment today that we felt deserved to be posted. So many of your comments keep us in stitches every single day. This one was left in response to another loyal reader who said that they won’t be voting. Here is what reader Positive Thought had to say about that:

Here’s something to think about: You say that your vote doesn’t count and won’t make or break the outcome of this very important election. Think about how many other young black men and women are thinking the same thing and then subtract them from the voting booths on November 4th, and you have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of intelligent able bodied voices that won’t speak. Trust and believe there are thousands of people thinking the same exact thoughts that you have expressed on this site. So in reality your vote does count.

One more thing before I go; it’s thinking like that which enabled George W. Bush to steal the last 2 elections.

Mediaoutrage- Positive Thought thanks for the input! Very profound. Listen everyone this is a place that you can share and exchange information thoughts and ideas. We can’t stress enough how important it is for EVERYONE who is ELIGIBLE to get out and VOTE come NOVEMBER 4TH.

Hey MediaOutrage or M.O. as everyone else refers to you, Thanks a lot for putting a brother on blast LOL. Nah, I appreciate your staff taking notice and getting the message out. One of my friends actually registered to vote while reading your site. They clicked the voteforchange.com link and registered so that is a good look on your part. Dt thanks. I read the site all of the time but rarely leave comments. But voting is important.

Right on! This will be only my second time voting in my life, because I used to have that same attitude! “My vote don’t count!” but I vote now because I need change. I vote because I need to voice how I feel. I vote to teach my daughter how to have a say in America. I vote because a lot of my people got they ass whooped for the right to vote. I vote because my great great grandmother on my dads side was a slave and was punished just for tryin to read. And last but not least, I vote because I CAN.

    Vote or die!

I’ve heard so many people say that their vote doesn’t count. Nice way to put that way of thinking in perspective as it relates to the outcome of the election. Kudos!

All I can say is we got to pray..that there is no cheating in this election..our country’s is a MESS!

Unemployment rate is 6%, Wall Street is a disaster, the U.S. owes billions of dollars to Japan and other countries, DOD and other government agencies waste billions of dollars on weapons and other resources that are not even used, etc. etc.

I don’t have anything profound to say, but, why wouldn’t you want to utilize your right to vote?

I agree Udamnright, I voted at 18 just because they said I could.. If you give it to me I am going to use it.
