This is so disgusting!!!
Posted by Media Outrage on October 7th, 2008
While perusing through our inbox this morning we came across this email from a LOYAL M.O. reader who lives in Chesapeak Virgina. They had a rather unusual experience at a McDonalds in Chesapeak on Battlefield Blvd. We’re sharing this email because you might want to start checking your drinks and food before pulling off from the drive through from now on!
Her email:
Mediaoutrage I had to tell you what just happened to me so you could possibly post it for other readers! I live in Chesapeak, VA and stopped at the McDonalds on Battlefield Blvd, in the drive through this morning to get some breakfast. Well anyway after I pulled off I ate my food and got home and opened my drink and saw 7 ANTS IN MY DRINK!! I almost threw up! I called the McDonalds and spoke to the manager and she apologized but tried to act as if they didn’t know where the ANTS CAME FROM. IM STILL LIKE WTF?!?!?! She asked did I want more food? I was like HELL NO! I don’t know what to do, but just wanted to let you know so you can let your readers know to check their food from now on.
Mediaoutrage- This is definitely some sick sh*t and she should go head and get a lawyer because it’s just sick. That’s just not supposed to happen.

She was not harmed physically or psychologically to the point of being incapacitated. Why would she need a lawyer??? This is not lawsuit material. I understand her disgust. But to even suggest that she file a frivolous lawsuit is amusing.

That’s so nasty. She might want to consult a lawyer because that’s just trifling.

I agree jules. Not lawsuit material unless you want to say you were cause stress because of this incident or something. Or you are allergic to ants and accidentally ingested one due to their negligence and had an allergic reaction. But you have to be hurt in some way, like the old lady wit the hot ass coffee that sued. But this reader can call their local ambulance chaser and if a lawsuit is filed mcdonalds may throw the reader $5000 to shut up. Its worth a try!

LOYAL MO READER –
Contact an attorney…understand your rights first, before you listen to less than judicially trained people. Let the attorney tell you whether or not you have a case…that’s what they do.
Do you still have the evidence or photos?
McDonald’s has a legal fund that is prepped and ready when events like this occur. Who knows? Hush money can come in various forms. You may be entitled to something covered by the human rights act. You won’t know until you ask.
At the very least, your story will enlighten and motivate the others to tighten it up!!
So sorry for your fright!!

@ Rocksee- I totally agree with you. Reader do consult an attorney! Report it to your local news! That is totally unacceptable.

Rocksee took the words out of my mouth, No one can say what is law suit material, its all about the way you present the case. You can sue for just about anything. I have heard of people not thinking that they had no case only to find out that people have gotten PAID for less. Even if the suit does nothing more that make these food joints more accountable. Shit people consume this stuff and they should be made to be more careful of how they treat people’s food. But these fast food joints are disgusting.

I agree with Jules, because it is one of the subject matters of my criminal justice class,if the person did not suffer physical injury, there is no lawsuit. Her only recourse is to report this Mcdonalds to her local health department. In this country of sue sue sue. finding an insect in a drink, or even being someone who is allergic to fish and visit a restaurant that cook all their food in the same grease, if you visit the hospital for an allergic reaction, you cannot sue the restaurant for cooking the food in the same grease, all the restaurant is responsible for is the medical bills, and thats it. I challenge all of you that disagree to research and let me know if myself or Jules is wrong. I welcome the debate. Until than as 2020 says Good Evening!

This is some nasty ish…that’s why I stopped eating there ever since I found someone’s hair in my egg mcmuffin sandwich! I’ve always examined my food carefully (even when I dine at nice restaurants) because everyone is not looking out for you when you eat out!

Personally, I don’t believe she’s got a case…I mean how many times have we found “foreign objects” in our food..especially at these fast food places..If everyone were able to just sue left and right they would’ve been out of business years ago…Now, I’m no lawyer or anything but I just don’t think she stands a chance..she might get some coupons or even free food but I doubt anything else will come out of this..Nonetheless, it’s very disturbing to find ants in your drink but it’s not sue-worthy (in my opinion).

I agree with you Random..I once retrieved a molded apple pie out of a vent machine at a local university…gross!! But taking it through the justice system is merely a waste and by the time the case goes to court (in about 6 or 7 years) then the lawyer will drain whatever check that the plantiff receives…an utter waste!

Ew that is pretty gross@Ms.E..and I completely agree!! Just the other day I found a dead fly in my tuna sandwhich from Whole Foods..I was so disgusted I threw everything out..even my drink!! Now, I could’ve gone back and bitched about it and probably could’ve gotten back my $6.99 but I just thought it was a waste of time..I sure as hell won’t be going back there again!!
