I love Colin Powell… I am a Democrat and always have been, but I have always had the utmost respect for Colin Powell.

This isn’t a decision he came to lightly, and if it was at all possible, I grew to respect him even more after hearing him this morning on Meet the Press.

He has walked away from his party, his colleagues and his friends to stand in support of Barack Obama.

Doing so showed his true character- he stood up for what’s right- even when it wasn’t the easy thing to do.

POWELL LIED TO US ABOUT IRAQ! POWELL HAS BEEN FOOLED IN THE PAST! It was Powell, who stood before us and showed AMERICA – AND THE ENTIRE WORLD – with great clarity and passion that there were Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq in 2003!! He RESIGNED as Sec. of State in 2006 over that COMPLETE ERROR OF JUDGMENT!

On ‘Meet The Press’ TODAY, OCT. 17, 2008 – Powell tells us that he has known John McCain for 26 years!! – and has gotten to know Obama over the past 2 years!! He tells us that he has watched Obama for the past 7 WEEKS! and on the basis of how Obama has behaved for the past 7 WEEKS! Powell is throwing his support behind him! I HAVE NO ABSOLUTELY RESPECT FOR COLIN POWELL!

@ Benefield: I read during Powells time with the Bush admin, he was really not in the so called “inner circle” alot of what he told the american public was based on twisted intellgence. He was put before the american public to make the case to go into Iraq, because he was more repected and the public would believe him, this from the white house point of view. He also bumped heads with Rumsfeld over the issues of the war, soon after he was not on a need to know base. I to believe this was not a decision he came to easily, but one he considered for a while after watching the two candicates and hearing their different view on how to govern this country. Who ever becomes president better hit the ground running, cause he wil inherited one hell of bank for problems….. I may be a democrat, but don’t think for one minute i would’nt have voted Republican. If McCain had spoke to my issues and concerns I would be voting for him, I don’t care which party he belongs to….

Has anyone else seen the way the GOP is closing ranks and hatin’ on Powell now that he’s endorsed Obama?

Obviously no one expected them to be supportive of his decision… but geez… they’re hangin’ his ass out to dry.

George Will is claiming Powell’s only voting for Obama because they’re both black, while some attorney from Maine named Billings is accusing Powell of being a racist. He claims, had Obama been a white guy, Powell never would have endorsed him.

Personally, and I said as much in my own post today, I think Powell would have endorsed a blow-up doll over McCain… McCain is just that useless.

Unfortunately, Powell was one of the few assets the Republicans had left.

Now that he’s no longer shuckin’ and jivin’ on their behalf, he’s lost his house negro priviledges.

    Sigh.

I’m afraid it’s back to the cotton field for Mr. Powell…

  13. Dan Says:

I admire Colin Powell’s eloquence — just as I admire Obama’s, but the questions that confront us are not those that can be solved with men gifted with gilded speech.

The questions most important in this election really concern the values we believe in. Do we as Americans really value our fellow man with all his creative potential? Or, do we feel that government should serve as god in our society and say, “Freedom! Sure, just don’t make too much money, because if you do, that will be unfair to the less ambitious, and less gifted, and we will have to take more of your money in taxes and give it to those who do not want to work hard or to take risks, or who have learned the new beautitude: “it is more blessed (and easier) to receive than to give.”

Obama will not be the ‘great unifier’ just the ‘great equalizer… that is, since equal means more equally poor’ So much for plurality and freedom. The fact remains, men are essentially equal by God’s design, and we don’t need government to MAKE us equal. Further, some people will continue to excel and rise above their state, and find ways seek prosperity and happiness. This comes from within, not because the goverment takes more of your taxes and gives them to someone else. I pity the fool who is “happy” because the goverment is the source of his happiness.

Regarding Powell’s comment “Obama has always been a Christian” we know that that is not true.

A PHOTO of Obama’s school register lists Obama as: “Barry Soetoro” a MUSLIM and an INDONESIAN. Go to this link:
    http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/13056.htm

Regarding the question of “and if he was a Muslim — what difference would that make?”

This is outrageous! How can Powell ask such a question?

First, we have a right as citizens of this country to know the background of a person. There should be no covering up of such a character-essential issue as one’s religion.

Second, if Obama is a Muslim, he should not be our president!

It was a group Muslims who attacked the U.S. — not Christians. Yes, they were “terrorists” but they were also Muslims. These are facts. They are unconfortable, but true. Islam has an inherent world view to create a theocratic state, which by default implies the overthrow, or destruction of other religions such as Christianity, Judaism, — and secular humanism and atheism as well.

Does anyone know any Christian terrorists plotting to overthrow the government and religions of other countries? Which wars are raging around this globe at the present that involve the so-called Christian terrorist?

The truth is, Obama has not revealed any more of his true character than we already knew. Obama still holds extreme views when it comes to abortion, and support of the gay movement. Without a teleprompter, Obama is no more eloquent than the next politician half-way familiar with his material.

The truth is 7 weeks has not revealed anything new to Colin Powell. What a lie! He is using his oratory skills to manipulate, and persuade — not to defend the truth.

The real goal is the Supreme Court! Obama is the man! It is not because he can talk or not. Nor is it because of Obama’s lack of understanding of economic policy and lack of administrative experience or practical belief in individual freedom through limited taxation. It’s because if we get Obama, we are sure to get 2 or perhaps 3 of the most liberal judges the Supreme Court has ever had.

I’ve lived abroad for many years. I have seen what it’s like to have freedom restricted, to pay taxes whether your business makes a profit or not — just for moving money from one account to another. Everything was taxed and everyone cheated on their taxes. And everyone was poor. When people don’t have freedom to be rewarded economically for their efforts, or to be protected from government intrusion in ones beliefs, there is no freedom.

If Obama can not say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ with regards to whether life begins at conception or not, that it is “above his pay grade” then he can not tell us the truth. He will not tell us the truth. At that point you will know the truth about Obama, and that truth… will not set you free.

When change comes, you will believe it — because you won’t have any choice. Change will come, but not the kind you expected or the kind you wanted to believe in.

@ Dan I don’t think someones regligions should be a factor in whether he/she can govern this country. Being a muslim should’nt be a disqualifier based on anyones point of view of the definition of Muslim. Was not Timothy Mcvay a christian and U.S citizen? For that fact Bill Ayers is a U.S citizen and supposely christian. I can say the same for McCain he has not revealed his true character. If the truth is told he is not the war hero put before us. He has sat on the board of an extreme right wing organazation. He is friends with Gordon Libby, a person involued with the water-gate break ins and a domestic terrorist himself. Dan-

    Seriously.

Are we back on this “Obama is a Muslim” b.s. again?

First of all, as Colin Powell said, so what if he were? More importantly though, HE ISN’T. He’s Christian. Always has been, always will be. I wonder… in light of the Rev. Wright scandal why Republicans can’t be a little more consistent with their smears. I mean which is he? A radical muslim or a radical Christian? Surely he can’t be both- definitely not simultaneously.

Second, using your own argument, every single Christian in this country should be disqualified as president. If all Muslims are terrorists, then all Christians are KKK.

The KKK is an organization based on Christianity- a bastardized version of Christianity, but Christianity none the less. Al Quaeda is an organization based on the Nation of Islam- a bastardized version.

Certainly I don’t need to remind you that the KKK is a small, radical group of so-called Christians- a group that most definitely does not represent the rest of us.

It’s the same thing with these terrorists.

As a bi-racial woman, I can list thousands of incidents in which Christians have tried to kill Americans- does the Jim Crow era ring a bell? What about those right-wing loony abortion doctor/clinic bombers?

So yes, there are terrorists- Christians, no less- that want to kill Americans. Simply because you, personally, may not be a target of theirs doesn’t make them any less terrorists.

what it boils down to is fear- your fear of a man with brown skin and a unique name.

Stop making excuses for it, and at least be honest about your personal bigotry.

I promise- whatever Barack Obama is, he isn’t nearly as scary as ignorant, closed minded people such as yourself.

I’d take my chances with Obama any day of the week. Unlike his candidate, he speaks of tolerance, and of giving equal opportunities to all people- not just some narrow offshoot of the white elite.

McCain friendship with Gordon Libby:During the same period that Bill Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground, Gordon Liddy was making plans to firebomb a Washington think tank, assassinate a prominent journalist, undertake the Watergate burglary, break into the office of Daniel Ellsberg’s psychiatrist, and kidnap anti-war protesters at the 1972 Republican convention.

McCains link to a right wing organization::In the 1980s, McCain served on the advisory board to the U.S. chapter of an international group linked to ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America.

The U.S. Council for World Freedom aided rebels trying to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua. That landed the group in the middle of the Iran-Contra affair and in legal trouble with the Internal Revenue Service, which revoked the charitable organization’s tax exemption.

The council created by retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub was the U.S. chapter of the World Anti-Communist League, an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. After setting up the U.S. council,
Singlaub served as the international league’s chairman.

Christian Terrorist, What does the word Christian really mean? What does it stand for::::Christian terrorism is religious terrorism by those whose motivations are rooted in their interpretations of Christianity. From the viewpoint of the terrorist, Christian scripture and theology provide justification for violent political activities.[1]

    Anti-abortion terrorists

Abortion clinics have been frequent targets of violence. Christian anti-abortion terrorists and terrorist organizations include the Army of God, The Lambs of Christ, Clayton Waagner, Mike Bray, James Kopp, Paul Jennings Hill and Eric Robert Rudolph.

    Christian Identity

Christian Identity is a loosely affiliated global group of churches and individuals devoted to a racialized theology that asserts North European whites are the direct descendants of the lost tribes of Israel, God’s chosen people.[2][3] Christian Identity includes such Christian terrorist groups as The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord (CSA), Phineas Priesthood and the Oklahoma Constitutional Militia, also known as the Universal Church of God. Christian Identity is also related to other groups such as Aryan Nations, Aryan Republican Army (ARA) and the Patriots Council.[citation needed]

Christian Identity has been associated with terrorist Eric Robert Rudolph, who carried out a series of bombings across the southern United States, which killed three people and injured at least 150 others, because he violently opposed abortion and homosexuality as contrary to Christian doctrine. His mother spent time with Nord Davis, a Christian Identity ideologue who wrote propaganda claiming that the world was controlled by Jews, and which advocated killing gays and those who engaged in mixed-race relationships.[2] Rudolph’s sister-in-law claimed that he was a member of the sect, but Rudolph himself claims to have only been a member of a Christian Identity church for six months because he was dating the daughter of Identity Pastor Dan Gayman, and wrote “I was born a Catholic, and with forgiveness I hope to die one.”[4] Idaho State University sociology professor James A. Aho said, “I would prefer to say that Rudolph is a religiously inspired terrorist, because most mainstream Christians consider Christian Identity to be a heresy.”[3]

Christian Identity has been associated with Peter Kevin McGregor Langan and Richard “Wild Bill” Guthrie, founders of the Aryan Republican Army (ARA), a paramilitary gang which has been connected to hate fueled terrorist attacks involving train derailments, assassinations, bombings and a string of professionally executed armed bank robberies planned to finance an overthrow of the US Federal government.[5][3] Similar social, cultural, and personal motivations have linked the ARA to a loose network of extreme radical right paramilitary cells including the White Supremacy movement and Christian Identity.[5]

South African branches of Christian Identity have been accused of involvement in terrorist activity, including the 2002 Soweto bombings.[6]

Everyone has a different view point about all of this, non of us can judge a person or group based on their religion and assume they will follow suite in its beliefs.

Did John McCain really serve his country well? Is he a “war hero”?…

Why Dont former POW’s that served with McCain, Support Him?
I wish I could support John McCain as a fellow returned POW. I have found I am expected to support him, but I cannot.

If I cannot support him, then the next best thing I find is that I am expected to remain mute and say nothing. As I have proven in a terrible jungle prison, I have the ability to remain mute in the face of those who wished to trade me my very life for just a few words. My remaining mute then, is the driving factor behind my feeling compelled to speak out now.

When John was blown from the sky over that lake in Hanoi, did the enemy already know whose son he was? No, they did not until John told them. He was seriously hurt in his ejection and he needed medical attention. In exchange for what the rest of us would call “First Class” care, he talked. He not only told them who his father, the Admiral was, but he expounded in detail on the Chain of Command and then built himself up by describing himself as one of the “very best pilots”. You will not find this form of “resistance” in the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) or in the Code of Conduct. As a matter of fact, it is expressly forbidden. Now, if the US Navy wants to give John a pass on this, it is all right with me, but that free Pass negated John’s pointing fingers at others, or at least it should have.

@ Dan we can go back and forward all day. At the end of the day Colin Powell can endorse anyone he wants based on what he thinks and believe on this day. Not on what he though when he served the present president and not on where the republicans think his loyalties should lie. It is understood by Colin Powell, republicans would be angry and say anything to discredit his support of Obama. He has not been promised anything by the Obama camp nor is he trying to gain any cabinet seat. He simply does not like the direction the McCain campaign is going, starting with his VP pick.

    [Reply]

  21. Dan Says:

First of all, I said “if” Obama is a Muslim. My statement is in reference to the claim that he has “always been” a Christian. Somewhere during Obama’s life he may have become a Christian, though I don’t recall hearing anything about his conversion from Islam to following Christ.

One opinion is that Obama “converted” when he decided to run for political office. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080105170313AAzN2Jk

And this Time cover story also refers Obama having been a Muslim in the past:
    http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=18325

“Classmate Rony Amir describes a young Barry Soetoro as enjoying playing football and marbles and of being a very devout Muslim.

“Barry was previously quite religious in Islam. His birth father, Barack Hussein Obama was a Muslim economist from Kenya. Before marrying Ann Dunham, Hussein Obama was married to a woman from Kenya who had seven children. All the relatives of Barry’s father were very devout Muslims””
You can read more about that if you like, and see a photo of the school where Obama studied. http://laotze.blogspot.com/2007/01/tracking-down-obama-in-indonesia-part-3.html

The fact that Obama has been a Muslim in the past proves that Colin Powell’s statement is false.

Secondly, if Obama turns out to be a Muslim (which I really don’t expect) this would be very serious. He would then be a great liar and everything that he has said so far would come into question.

Now, for all you folks that think there’s nothing wrong with having a Muslim president that’s fine. You can vote for one, should the opportunity arise. I have every right to say I don’t want a Muslim for a U.S. president. Please do not ignore our own nation’s history, nor forget the undeniable overarching implications of Islam’s long history.

Islam is the only religion in the world that has a world-view and stated aim of creating theocratic state.

It is a great question to ask, “What is a Christian?”

A Christian is one who believes that Jesus was the Messiah, the one sent from God for man’s spiritual restoration so that man can know God and serve Him through the forgiveness of sin. No one is a Christian because he is simply born into a Christian home. It is an individual response to the reality of the truth of who Jesus is. The Gospel of John is a great place to find out what Jesus Himself said, what He claimed, and what He did. A real Christian should desire to follow Christ and to imitate Christ’s own example by humbly serving God and his fellow man.

Now, can we are honest about it? How many of the people who fit the above definition are “Christian terrorists”?

Simply because a person says he is a Christian, this does not make him one. Several names have been pointed to in order to say that there are “Christian terrorists” too. Please, let’s not swerve away from the facts. At the very least Islamic terrorism is a religious faction within Islam, if not the outcome of devout Islam carried to its “logical” conclusion.
There may be individuals with the Christian label, and even a few groups, but who are not followers of Christ who have committed horrible crimes like McVeigh. But no one can point to anything that even closely resembles the mindset or the military activities behind the bloodshed and wars resulting from the international religious-political movement of radical Islam.

Yes, for that reason alone, no Muslim should become president of the United States… that is of course, unless everyone who is left gives up and converts to Islam, at which point there will be no need for elections or a president.

  28. Dan Says:

Regarding white slavery as well as Arabic slavery:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_and_slavery

I do not think it is wise or truthful to broadbrush “whites” as the source of slavery — especially since history bears out the fact that slavery in the U.S. did not begin with whites per se. Slavery finds it roots stretching back to the Roman Empire, Arabia, Asia, and Africa. There were a number of key players in the struggle to end slavery in the U.S. who were both white and Christian, men such as, Wilberforce, Colonel Robert Shaw, President Lincoln, and many others.

Slavery exists today in Africa, China and in other countries, though the precise form of slavery and its abuses vary. My point is simply that slavery is not a white versus black issue, and it certainly has nothing to do with the question of Colin Powell backing Obama.

None of this has to do with the real questions concerning Obama.

The recent “election victories” of men like “Lula” Ignacia da Silva of Brazil, and Hugo Chavez shows the dangers of populist movements. It seems to me we have a populist strategy taking place here. As Hitler commented on pages 94-95 of the text (.txt) version of Mein Kampf, he stated (I’m summarizing here) that every great political movement is the result of an appeal to the masses through the use of rhetoric. He emphasized the power of the spoken word – the style and appeal to the masses.

We have lost our objectivity. We toss in distracting issues to defend our blind insistence that “we need change” at any cost. But we refuse to ask the questions:

What does Barack Obama really believe?
What has Barack Obama really done to prove himself to the American People?
Is it possible that we are being led astray, that we are being manipulated by the Media that has its own agenda?

Remember — we did not set these two candidates up. I don’t know many people who wanted McCain in the first place, but it was a media-driven effort to eliminate stronger candidates. We have been set up with a guy that makes it very easy for Obama to say constantly that McCain is just a repeat of Bush policies. (Which of course, is not true either, but it is very easy to say.)

“If you don’t want more of George Bush, vote for me!” Every debate has been about that.

But no one talks about how Barack Obama “legally,” but improperly gained his senate seat by getting the democratic opponents’ names off the ballots.

“With ACORN’s rampant signature collection fraud so much in the news, we should pause to remember that not only did Obama get elected to his first political office thanks to them, but he ran unopposed because of getting his opponents taken off the ballot — because of phony signatures.”

You can read more about how Obama’s main “accomplishment” – his being elected to the senate, was done:
    http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama-got-elected-throwing-out-names

My point still is: What we do know about Barack Obama should cause us to not want him for president. What we don’t know about his background, his ideology, what he really stands for — these are the things that we elect a person for.

And Barack Obama will not tell us.

No one has responded to my specific points regarding Barack Obama’s Islamic, and possibly foreign citizenry.

    Why?

Why would anyone vote for someone they don’t know?

Specifically what has Barack Obama done to win our trust? What accomplishments can be listed to prove to the American people that he is, right now, a leader — the right leader — in the face of some of the most complex issues this country has ever faced?

    Give me one accomplishment.

Why have you not answered this yet? I was not talking about the history of slavery. I know history pretty well. I was speaking of the enslavement of black people by white people in this country that called themselves CHRISTIANS. What’s your answer for this? Oh and by the way Lincoln did not want to end slavery, I wish people would stop telling that lie. Let’s keep it all the way real. After he signed the emancipation proclamation he then wanted to deport all blacks out of this country. I don’t care about McCain.

    I just don’t — and won’t drink the Kool-Aid being served.

    Hovy — are you serious?

How can you equate Islamic terrorism with McVeigh?

    McVeigh is dead.
Slavery in the U.S. has been abolished for over 140 years.
The mass genocide of the Indians — also a dead issue, as well as unrelated.

Most of the examples you made in comparison to PRESENT-DAY Islamic terrorism are not the same kind of threat, either in terms of scope or intention.

Your other comments have nothing to do with the present CHOICE based on the track-record, the Senate voting record, and the ideology (from what we can tell — and I suspect much has not been revealed) of your dear candidate.

Convince me. Or at least try to be convincing.
Why are YOU voting for Obama? You already know my positions and reasons why I can not support Obama.

What are your intelligent, thoughtful reasons? Please express them in a way that demonstrates your belief in man’s equality, freedom to choose or to reject a candidate based on his qualifications.

    Yea,

The fact remains that Barack Obama holds a unique position in senatorial history. He beat his DEMOCRAT opponents using a technicality to get them off the ballot.

Whether you believe he used ACORN or not, I don’t care. The facts speak for themselves.

Barack Obama would not even be a candidate for the presidency if he had won his senate seat fairly.

Why don’t you ask Alice Palmer the former Democratic State Senator from Illinois what she thinks about Obama’s “winning” that election?

Dr. Palmer was the incumbant, black civil rights leader, the founding executive director of Chicago Cities in Schools and creator and founding director of the Chicago Metropolitan YMCA Youth and Government Program. She was an admired, qualified candidate — and senator.

    Obama was not.

She would have won… except for the ACORN connection, and the insider’s knowledge that some of the signatures on the candidates filing for candicay were likely invalid, and certainly “challengable.”

Yea, what do you think about that?

  33. Sarah Says:

Suddenly because Powell is endorsing obama he is not as evil as he used to be? Yet, Powell was the one encouraging the Iraq war claiming they had WMD. Anyone with intelligence knows that Powell is endorsing based on race.

98% of black people are voting for obama just because he is black. White people are split between obama, nadar, and McCain. Think about it.

The truth is this is a race campaign. The Democrats control the senate and congress and have the lowest approval rating in US history. The Democrats couldn’t even beat Bush in the elections thus why they are going after the black vote in the US, about 45 million blacks. Thus, why obama voted present over 130 times, avoided the tough issues, and never challenged his party leaders on senate to preserve his political career. Only 143 days on state senate when he decided to run for office.

The Democrats lost because the US is not a socialist/communist system. Americans fought against Nazi Germany, their socialist party, and communist USSR for decades, just to name a few.

Again, Clinton supported deregulation and introduced FTAs like NAFTA. That is why the US economy was strong during his administration. McCain also supports deregulation and fights for FTAs like NAFTA. These initiatives will help our economy. Our economy is very important, McCain is better for our economy. I hope people get educated before they vote.

US businesses create US jobs. obama wants to limit the growth of US businesses, which is limiting the growth of US jobs. If you increase tax on US businesses they will either just relocate to a lower tax country taking American jobs with them, pass the added tax cost to consumers or go bankrupt. GM and Ford can barely compete globally and obama wants to tax them more. The smaller businesses that are reliant on GM and Ford will also be greatly affected, destroying more US jobs.

The US is the land of opportunity not the land of equal outcome. Why should government take your money and give it to people who are already on welfare to spread the wealth?

    Sarah,

Unfortunately, your link at the bottom of your post has been made “unavailable” at Youtube. I have no reason as to why. Comments related to the video were left as recently as one hour ago.

Nevertheless, you brought up an excellent point. Whenever the goverment takes on the role of a redistribution center of wealth — someone is going to pay for it.

There are millions of those “someones” and millions of them think that they are going to be on the receiving end because they’ve been convinced that they’re poor. Well, guess what? As our middle class shrinks, the poor class expands. The definition of “wealthy” becomes poorer, and the tax burden will be placed on folks with less and less income — and certainly less true purchasing power.

Obama in the minds of millions is today’s Robin Hood. (And some even think he is the Savior ;) ). He wants to “steal from the rich and give to the poor.” His message stimulates a sense of thinking that “we are poor” and “we need the government to help us.” “We need change!”

The mortgage crisis is a prime example of the result of this kind of attitude transformed into policy.

WE CAN GIVE A BIG THANKS TO ACORN AND THEIR FAVORED-STATUS POLITICIANS!

    STAN LIEBOWITZ writes:

“PERHAPS the greatest scandal of the mortgage crisis is that it is a direct result of an intentional loosening of underwriting standards – done in the name of ending discrimination, despite warnings that it could lead to wide-scale defaults.

At the crisis’ core are loans that were made with virtually nonexistent underwriting standards – no verification of income or assets; little consideration of the applicant’s ability to make payments; no down payment.”

It’s funny how now that their is a black candidate only days from being elected to the White House that all of a sudden black people are only voting for him because of his skin complexion? SMH. Oh well white people have for centuries excluded “blacks” out of the political process. That’s an ignorant statement that can’t be proven. Speak the facts.

    Cyndy,

Some of the numbers from the independent polling organization, Rasmussen Reports:

Here are some recent numbers from Rasmussen regarding the overall numbers of the black vote:
“While 88% of blacks said their family, friends and co-workers are willing to vote for an African-American, only 58% of whites agree.”
    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/78_would_vote_for_black_candidate_less_sure_of_friends

“86% of black voters have a favorable opinion of Mrs. Obama, who would become the first African-American first lady, only 42% of white respondents agree. Forty-eight percent (48%) of white voters register an unfavorable opinion of Mrs. Obama, as opposed to a 5% of black voters.”
    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/61_say_obama_mccain_wives_influence_vote

And another article which, explains Obama’s numbers in the South Carolina primary. It made the comparison of Jesse Jackson’s “capture of 92% of the vote.” The difference here being that Hillary was still a factor at that time.
    http://time-blog.com/real_clear_politics/2007/12/obama_the_black_vote.html

Cyndy — what do you think of those numbers? Those are backed up by historical and current statistic. I think between 88% and 92% is accurate and not far from Sarah’s general impression of “98%.”

But as I have said all along the real issues are what does Barack Obama stand for?

What has he done to deserve our vote?

Anybody? What has Barack Obama accomplished? Numbers, facts, references please!

Im no Political expert but this comes down to common sense

I have observed, but have not posted on this thread because I wanted to stand outside of the forrest and view the trees. I have to say that political jargon is impressive because it makes people seem real smart. I also saw someone quote Hitler, I thought the quote was a compliment to Obama, because it said “any GREAT political movement” (I see the word great, do you?) The charicteristics that Mr. Obama displays are the same ones that Kennedy and Clinton displayed in the past…minus the womanizing and I know the people that are part of the Anti-Obama movement will argue that but who cares, its my opinion and no one can take that away from me. But, MO and its readers must somehow be making waves in the 08 election because people keep coming here trying to convince MO that they are wrong for excercising it’s choice to support a specific Presidential Candidate, the one that so many are “scared” of. I have a little advice for the Anti-Os. MO has a small group of devoted bloggers that have excercised their right to support Obama, I repeat small group. We are a group of maybe 50, that have been asked to point out Obama’s accomplishments and inform you of them. Well you missed the opporatunity to enhance the chance of getting the answer that you want because it seems that you dont like the answers that you have been given. Over the weekend between Kansas City and St. Louis You could have asked 177,000 people the same questions that you are asking here and I am willing to bet that you could have found an answer that was more to your liking, and Im sure you could have gained a few people to join your movement. But hey, we all learn how to better use and direct our energy when we dont capatalize on opporatunities. But if you just want to shake some trees and see what happens then I guess you are in the right place. By the way all of these links that have these accusations are hearsay, I mean come on man we can come up with some more concrete stuff than this.

I have heard that the media is pushing to get him elected, well at the same time the media is also trying to bury him. Just watch, Sean Hannity or Bill Oreilly any day of the week and you will see that 80 percent of their show is devoted discrediting Obama and anyone who supports him. Oreilly is a disrespectful evil bastard. I saw this bitch say that Robert Kardashian and Johnny Cochran were both dead and that it could somehow be Karma for them representing and getting O.J. off in his first trial. How sick is that?? while One of Obamas biggest supporters is Keith Olberman. I have watched both and it seems that the format of these shows play out pretty consistantly with the same way that American voters opinions have come to light. Olberman has facts to back his support of Obama or discredit his opposers and FOX runs on personal opinion, personal feelings, fear and just plain old hearsay. just take look at the Republicans last weapon (Joe the Plumber), everything that they use is coming back to bite them in the ass. But as far as him being a Muslim this Is America where upstanding responsible ADULTS have the right to choose, and yes that includes the freedom to choose a religion, eventhough no one has proven that Obama is a Muslim. I put emphasis on ADULT because it seems that people are saying that as a child he was Muslim. Well, when you are a child you dont have the luxuary of choosing what religion you are But I doubt the Grandparents that raised him were Muslim. When I was 10 years old I remember being three diferent religions in the same month. I went to Protestant Service one week when I spent the night at a friends house, the week after that I spent the weekend at Grandmas and I went to Baptist service that Sunday and the next week I went to a family reunion in the Bahamas and guess what, I was Catholic that week. A week after that I went to my mother and told her that I wanted to be Catholic and she asked me why and I said that Catholics seem more kind and friendly and I too wanted be friendly to people. That was a pile of Bullshit because I wanted to be catholic because that was the only time I had been to Church and the service lasted 30 minutes, as a Baptist I never spent less than 2hrs in Church. See how it works in America, Children dont choose their religion adults do. And as far as I know, as an adult he has been Christian.

And anyone can see that Sarah Palin is a liability. She has made her biggest blunders as an adult and a politician, and she has diarreah of the mouth, she says all kinds of outlandish bullshit, she calls people on things that she has done 10Xs worse Will you just stop for a minute and take a look at the Republican ticket, just look at it.

And why all of a sudden are people so concerned with voting fraud and unauthorized voters and cheating. None of this mattered between in 2000 and 2004, when it was extremely obvious. If America had been this proactive, we might not be in the bind that we are in now.

Im on my way back to observing this game from the stands or if I was in Kenya I would be watching from the Bushes.

Can anyone tell me the names of McCain’s other considerations for V.P. and did he offer them the gig? and did the say hell Fuck no?!? At this point Im not trying to sell Obama to anyone because if he does get into the White House, he will have to kill himself to get this Country turned in the right direction. As a black man, part of me dosnt even want him to have to deal with the problems ahead of him, I dont want him to have to deal with the the ridicule, accusations, lies and sabotage that await for him. I mean come on people take the gloves off for a minute and ask yourself, who the fuck really wants that stinking job.

I have been reading the posts about Mr. Obama and there seem to be some Political minds that know what is going on with politics, Im sure anyone with as much knowledge of politics as some of the people here surely can come up with some answers to our current problems. I mean shit, If the answers to the problems lie somewhere and you know what they are then please tell us and help the world out. At this point all of the political and religious bickering lead us nowhere. These two men are running for President because they say they have the answer. If you disagree and think that they are full of Shit and have the answers, again I beg you to come foward and help us by giving us what is in your head and serving the public. sitting back and looking at this post has made me realize one thing. And that is, I have an opinion and so does everyone else. I support Obama because the things that he has said make more sense and I can relate to them the way he delivers his points. But just because I support Obama does not mean that I am doing any good by saying that McCain is a fucked up individual and start saying things about him that I have no proof of. I have to put my trust in one of these men and if I dont want to trust one of these dudes I can take my future in my own hands and put myself in a position to run for President. If I dont chose to do that then I have the choice of voting for one of the two dudes that are running and shutting my mouth. But at this point I see that Republicans and Democrats can argue for a million years and neither party will gain any ground. At the end of the day no matter who is sitting on the throne we have problems. But some of yall really need to look into politics. Stop bitching and make a fucking difference.

    2020VIZN,

Your foul language does not make your argument more persuasive.

    Greetings everyone else!

I don’t mean to be stubborn, but other than the whining and complaining, and the criticisms of Senator McCain, Governor Palin, some of the conservative radio commentators — where is the substance?

Folks what are your thought-out, heart-felt reasons?

Look, I don’t even think one ‘great’ accomplishment is enough to qualify a man to be President. To be President of the United States is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve this great country. This job demands, and the nation deserves a person who has demonstrated a life-time of accomplishments and commitment.

They say a man’s actions speak louder than his words. But why do we say this — it is because one’s actions are the result of one’s efforts based on principles and decisions that come from within one’s mind and heart. What a person does during his career and past moments to serve are based on decisions that are rooted in one’s character and beliefs.

Some actions may be viewed as ‘accomplishments,’ but the public has the right to judge those actions.

That is why I insist on knowing — what has Obama done?
What has he accomplished that earns my vote?

The way Barack Obama stole the election from Dr. Alice Palmer was shameful. That’s just one event — one issue. There are other issues, and actions taken by Obama that disqualify him. I thought Democrats wanted a man that could win on his merits, and did not play dirty politics.

Why does the media block out this story? How honorable has the media been in its coverage?

Now, I’m still waiting for that list of reasons, or, a list of accomplishments of the great Messiah, Obama.

    Look, just one great accomplishment.

    [Reply]

  41. Yea I Said It Says:

Dan instead of looking for the bad where Sen Obama is concerned, why are you not trying to find out yourself what is the one accomplishment he is responsible for?

We can ask you the same about McCain, what accomplishments is attached to his name?

I saw the same Cnn documentary on the Illinois election, and Sen Obama did not steal anything. If you are basing all your info on reported information rather than true stone hard facts,it becomes your opinion and what you chose to believe.

His time as a community organizer, and what he did for some of the people in those communities should serve a great accomplishment, however you won’t research that cause thats too much like having an open mind.

My question to you is this… What do you hope to gain from your questions? Are you really trying to decide whom to vote for? Are you concern about our support of Sen Obama? Or are you hoping to change our views of the man?

While we don’t claim he is the Messiah ( the news media claims that) and we don’t claim he is perfect. I heard him in the first debate and what did for me, is his willingness first to sit down with other countries that might not be in agreement with the US and try to iron out our difference and co-exist in peace. Second his willingness to pull the troops out of Iraq. I do have a very close love one that served in Iraq and stands the chance of returning. Third I believe in his policy on health care, right now I am a college student who works on the weekend flying for American Airlines, while I have health insurance, I now have to pay more out of pocket than I make just to maintain coverage. Fourth,he is no difference than any other past president going into the white house, not knowing everything and with minimal experience at the most.

Former president Clinton said he did had no experience and it was said about him….. did he run this country into the ground durng his term?
Did he not leave with a surplus?
Why is it any different for Sen Obama? He will surround himself with the best experience possible and I for one am very proud of his VP pick.
He demostrates his readiness everyday. Look at how well his campaign is running after 20 months, and the people he has surrounded hisself with to run it.
Sen Obama has excersiced good judgment since the start of his campaign. The bottom line is you can come up with as many negative so called facts as you like, and it amounts to the same thing, just your opinion…… Dan your turn.

  43. Dan Says:

    Yea,

Thank you for giving it a fair shot.

From what I could glean from your answer is that you don’t see any problem with the way he won his Senate seat by having the names of his fellow Democrats removed from the ballot. So at least you don’t think that should be charactarized as a “bad” accomplishment.

Okay, I’ll give you that. For the purpose of argument, let’s say it was not a “bad” thing — but — it was not a great accomplishment. The seat had already been held by a Democrat in a strong Democrat district. So his becoming a Senator is not such a miracle. If Barack Obama had not run, had not by stealth removed Dr. Palmer’s name from the ballot, SHE would have won, and not Obama.

Maybe Dr. Palmer could have run as the first black, and the first woman for president!!

Now for Barack Obama’s accomplishements, it seems that all we as the voting population have to go on is that he was a community organizer. I’m sorry, but that is not a big deal. With all respect to Obama. Maybe he could get a job as a fund-raiser, or some other ‘community’ level work.

    National work needs national experience.
The presidency needs men that are qualified. Obama doesn’t even have international leadership experience. Travelling doesn’t count and possibly being born in Kenya, living in Indonesia, having studied at an Islamic school doesn’t count either.

He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991 and was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review. That’s an accomplishment.

But is that enough? I don’t think so. He deserves a good job somewhere, but based on his overall background, he could not get clearance with the State Department to work for the government.

The more I look to find Obama’s accomplishments, the more frustrating it becomes. There is so little to go on. I have found lot of sites that describe his connections with ACORN, and Resko, and Ayers, past drug use etc. (confirmed reasons why Barack Obama could not normally be hired by the U.S. Department of State)

I have not brought up any of those things (other than the ACORN connection), though they are valid questions as part of the background check of a person seeking such high office.

Don’t YOU and others who are supporting Barack Obama so blindly think it is a good idea to have some intelligent reason to vote FOR him?

I would love to be persuaded.
Give me a list. How about a “Top Ten Accomplishments” to justify hiring this man for the Top Job in the U.S.?

Warm regards to you for the dialogue,

    Dan

I think you want to imply McCain would be the better choice, And he is not, I can bring up his past and the people he associated with, but that would not be fair to him. We all know people in our past that have baggage. By the way Sen Obama is a US citizen.

I do not believe you are looking at all for any good where Sen Obama is concerned. There are a lot of closed minded people that just want to have their point of view read and forget the rest.

Well you know what Dan… I don’t care if he was a carpet bagger, I would vote for him before i voted for John McCain and if not him I would vote for Ralph Nader before I voted for John McCain.
John McCain slaps you in the face by assuming we are all so dumb we would believe if god forbid something happens to him, his VP Sara Palin would be able to pick up and run this country.

Forget the Obama associations. I don’t want to talk about them, nor do you.

Forget his citizenship. You can’t prove whether he is a citizen and neither can I. Only Obama himself can do that and the question is, “Why hasn’t he?” I have read the court papers filed by Philip Berg — Have you? They are quite convincing — for one simple reason — Obama has refused to produce incontrovertible proof that he knows, and can prove he knows where he was born.

Forget Senator Palin. She’s not running for president.

I already said I don’t care about McCain. Frankly, he was never my choice from the beginning. The media made him the straw man so Obama could get elected.

My main question has been all along as to the real reasons why anyone — especially why Colin Powell would support Obama.

As attorney, and writer Tommy DeSeno
    pointed out in his column:

“Four out of five Secretaries of State surveyed recommend John McCain to those who will vote.

That’s right. Henry Kissenger, James Baker, Lawrence Eagleburger and Alexander Haig have all endorsed the Republican nominee. But like the one dentist out of five who recommends sugary gum, Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama.”

Something to think about… Four out of five of the men who have had the most experience with foreign policy and who have worked with U.S. presidents in good times and in bad for the last 40 – 50 years, would not vote for Obama.

    Why?

What has Obama done to deserve such scorn from these leaders?

What has he done to deserve your support?

OK — how about a list of “Top Five”?

You said forget Sara Palin, you can’t cause she may be the next president if anything happens. How can she become a non factor now?
Part of the reason for a lot of additional support for Sen Obama is his running mate.

    Yea,

That “dog” just happens to be the subject of the blog. Colin Powell endorsed Sen Obama. Yep! that’s right! He can do whatever he wants to.

He was Secretary of State. He has more knowledge than most. His “reasons” as I listened to were just as empty as many folks. Eloquently made, but they sounded like he was endorsing the author of a book.

    How about ONE Presidential-worthy accomplishment?

My friend, I really really was asking for reasons why Obama is so lovely in the eyes of so many. I really do want to hear them. There are lots of intelligent, Harvard grads, who have experience in the community. How many are running for president?

I am glad that you don’t agree with many of points. We are supposed to question. It has been said that it is patriotic to disagree. I am asking questions and I disagree with the direction the sheep are going.

For that matter I don’t want anyone to believe me just because I raise some questions. For example, the citizenship issue. If anyone want to they can see for themselves what is behind Philip Berg’s lawsuit regarding Obama’s alleged U.S. citizenship:

I wonder who Madeliyn Albright endorses. Phillip Habib was the other secratary of State who served under a Democratic President in recent years and that was Jimmy Carter but Habib Is dead, we need their input for that to be a fair question. And as far as accomplishments, I have seen a rash of Senators coming out saying that Mr. McCain Has been taking credit for initiatives that he didnt take part in the push for and in come cases, initiatives that he flat out oppossed. But those Senators are probably on Obamas pay role. Like I said before, Im no Politician but at the same time Im no idiot. All I can say to this is some people are fair and dont hold biased unrealistic opinions and (1 point for Jan). But Im beginning to think that Obama did something personal to Dan.

A little bit of Info on those Secrataries of State

Henry Kissenger: In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed Kissinger to chair a committee to investigate the events of the September 11 attacks. This led to criticism from Congressional Democrats who accused Kissinger of being secretive and not supportive of the public’s right to know. Leading Democrats insisted that Kissinger file financial disclosures to reveal any conflicts of interest. Both Bush and Kissinger claimed that Kissinger did not need to file such forms, since he would not be receiving a salary. However, following continual Democratic pressure, Kissinger stepped down as chairman on December 13, 2002.In 2006, it was reported in the book State of Denial by Bob Woodward that Kissinger was meeting regularly with President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney to offer advice on the War in Iraq.[43] Kissinger confirmed in recorded interviews with Woodward[44] that the advice was the same as he had given in an August 12, 2005 column in The Washington Post: “Victory over the insurgency is the only meaningful exit strategy.”[45]

In a November 19, 2006 BBC Sunday AM interview, when asked whether there is any hope left for a clear military victory in Iraq, Kissinger said, “If you mean by ‘military victory’ an Iraqi Government that can be established and whose write runs across the whole country, that gets the civil war under control and sectarian violence under control in a time period that the political processes of the democracies will support, I don’t believe that is possible… I think we have to redefine the course. But I don’t believe that the alternative is between military victory as it had been defined previously, or total withdrawal. (Flip Plopper and Inside Republican No Credibility)

Specifically — what smear was made against the “Untouchable One’s” birthplace?

Did any of you go to any of the links? Not one comment has been made to “smear” anyone through a distortion of fact. Fact have been presented.

Regarding McCain’s birth eligibility there were also questions raised:

“Prof. Gabriel J. Chin, focused on a 1937 law that has been largely overlooked in the debate over Mr. McCain’s eligibility to be president. The law conferred citizenship on children of American parents born in the Canal Zone after 1904, and it made John McCain a citizen just before his first birthday. But the law came too late, Professor Chin argued, to make Mr. McCain a natural-born citizen.”
(New York Times ADAM LIPTAK July 11, 2008)

McCain’s team and the RNC immediately addressed the issue and provided hard-copy documents of everything that was needed. The media tried to make an issue of it briefly, but since there was no basis and all documents ruled out the possibility of McCain’s ineligibility, it was a dead issue.

With EVERY candidate complete background checks are done Republican or Democrat or Independant. It’s just that there is a lot of whining taking place — and outright refusal to provide answers to many valid questions on the part of the Untouchable One.

There is secrecy regarding specifics of Obama’s college days, which normally would be something one is proud to speak of an usually unavoidable in terms of its importance in getting a job.

We are not allowed to know His grades, know who He hung out with or to have access to His thesis. None of this was kept from public’s sight when GBush was elected.

One write points out how easy it is to get Michele Obama’s thesis (which I downloaded months ago), but not the Untouchable One’s:

    “Why Can’t I find Obama’s Master’s Thesis?

Go ahead, give it a shot. Google “Barack Obama Thesis.” You’ll get plenty of hits on Michelle Obama’s thesis or Michelle LaVaughn Robinson , but very little on Barack’s thesis. By the way, you should check out Michelle’s piece of work. Princeton won’t officially release the document until after the election, but you can easily obtain a copy online by clicking here.
What is known about Baracks masters thesis from Columbia University is the title “Soviet Nuclear Disarmament” and that Columbia will not release it and doesn’t plan to in the future. What else is known? Barrack was attending communist rallies and involved in Marxist ideals around the time he was writing his thesis.”

Reiterating that there are alternatives in Iraq for the United States other than the “stay-the-course” policy of the Bush administration. (he said the samething that Obama and all of us on MO believes. We want to know why stay the course.

Lawrence Sidney Eagleburge: After serving in the Foreign Service for 27 years, Eagleburger retains an interest in foreign policy and is a familiar figure on current events talk shows. He has caused some discussion with public comments about President George W. Bush’s foreign policy. In August 2002, Eagleburger questioned the timing of possible military action in Iraq, saying, “I am not at all convinced now that this is something we have to do this very moment.”[4] He did indicate he believed that Iraqi regime change could be a legitimate US endeavor at some point, but that at that time he did not believe the administration was fully prepared for such a conflict.[5] In April 2003, following warnings by the Bush administration to the government of Syria, Eagleburger condemned the possibility of military action in Syria or Iran, saying that public opinion would not support such a move and that “If President Bush were to try it now, even I would feel he should be skinned alive.

Unfortunately, winning the primary is what it is — a primary election, after which the voters have more time to weigh and analyze the merits of the final two. But a primary win alone is not the kind of presidential-qualifying achievement “We the people” should be looking for.

What was the basis for his win? What was his track-record? What was his platform other than “Change” and “NOT four more years”? Again, what has Obama done to have earned this adoration?

Further, the context of this last primary election, (which is part of history) was the media-induced fervor, the Obama-mania and the Hillary-hatred that gave him that victory.

Normally, Democrats skeptical of big money and big business, would be alarmed by such efforts to buy an election. But this time, the virtues of living and winning by principle seems to be less important than winning at any cost.

Obama has raised more that $605 million overall since he launched his campaign at the beginning of 2007! G.W. Bush spent $375 million for the entire campaign cycle in 2004. At this rate Obama will outspend by double the most expensive campaign in history, which supposedly had been won thanks to the filthy lucre of Republican dollars! Obama was able, however, to successfully challenge enough signatures to disqualify not only the incumbent but the other three candidates for the Democratic nomination as well, which he won unopposed.

I thought you would rush to defend a black woman representative of those who have been deprived of hope and fairness. 2020 — Where is your sense of justice? I’m disappointed…

Most of all, this is nothing to rejoice about my friend. It only shows who Barack Obama and Alice Palmer are. As they say in Brazil they are “farinha do mesmo saco!” “flour from the same bag” i.e. they’re both corrupt politicians.

You are right though and I apologize that I over-stated her value as a politician! She’s not the shining star her bio page (and other pages) make her out to be. I also found out they were a lot alike with their pro-Soviet stance in the 90′s

Having said that, Palmer’s mistake does not change one thing with regards to the facts surrounding Obama’s conniving means by which he got into the senate.

Yet Obama says that he thinks she was a “good public servant.”

Here’s how one site details Obama’s knifing Palmer in the back politically:

But in November 1995, Jesse Jackson, Jr. defeated Palmer in a special election for Reynolds’ empty congressional seat. At that point, Palmer filed to retain the Democratic nomination for the state senate seat she had encouraged Obama to pursue; that seat would be up for grabs in the November 1996 elections. She asked Obama to politely withdraw from the race and offered to help him find an alternative position elsewhere.

But Obama refused to withdraw, so Palmer resolved to run against him (and two other opponents who also had declared their candidacy) in the 1996 Democratic primary. To get her name placed on the ballot, Palmer hastily gathered the minimum number of signatures required. Obama promptly challenged the legitimacy of those signatures and charged Palmer with fraud. A subsequent investigation found that a number of the names on Palmer’s petition were invalid, thus she was knocked off the ballot. (Names could be eliminated from a candidate’s petition for a variety of reasons. For example, if a name was printed rather than written in cursive script, it was considered invalid. Or if the person collecting the signatures was not registered to perform that task, any signatures that he or she had collected likewise were nullified.)

Obama also successfully challenged the signatures gathered by his other two opponents, and both of them were disqualified as well. Consequently, Obama ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and won by default.

“I liked Alice Palmer a lot,” Obama would later reflect. “I thought she was a good public servant. It [the process by which Obama had gotten Palmer's name removed from the ballot] was very awkward. That part of it I wish had played out entirely differently.”

Some of the commentors are so ignorant it’s funny! How are you (Sarah) going to say 98% of blacks are voting with a racist incentive? You are making a moronic blanket statement. To be frank you’re calling most black people uninformed. You think blacks lack the knowledge of the eminent issues at hand, and are not concerned about the candidate’s potlitical or moral stance. You couldn’t be more wrong. Yes, there are blacks who are supporting PRESIDENT OBAMA because he is African American. But there is an incalculable portion who are supporting him based on the fact that they identitfy with his message and plan of change. They’ve been struggling with social economic, health, race, gender, and sexual orientation issues. So if 98% of blacks are supporting him based from a racist position, then why are other races supporting him? Is it because they better (than blacks) understand the issues at hand? Anyone who believes this stupid rumor that basically all blacks are supporting from a racist point of view is STUPID! Dan you “appear” to be informed, but your facts are dubious my brotha. You really should pay attention to the lesson Hovy’s Home is trying to teach you. His statement concerning the white conquest of the Native Americans was related to the discussion. Terrorism is the use of force and threats to frighten people and governments into cooperating. That’s exactly what happened to the natives of this country. Just to add to Hovy’s argument Lincoln also stated that if he could save the union without freeing the slaves he would. Dan have you ever heard of the crusades? I’m pretty sure you have, but for those who have not heard the crusades were a series of military campaigns by Christians against Muslims, pagan Jews, Russian & Greek Orthodox Christians, Mongols, and any political enemy of the popes. My point is just as others have stated that there are extremists in any religion. Even peaceful Buddhist Monks set themselves ablaze in protest of the Vietnam War. Dan I am an African American devout Christian who supports PRESIDENT OBAMA. I too believe that a woman has the right to decide concerning issues that will effect her body and life. Especially in cases where her health is at stake. He has my support because I can relate to his message of relief for the middle class. No I haven’t heard of him prior to the race for office, but there are many candidates who are not widely known prior to the elections. Most govenors are only known by the people in the states they govern and they win the favor of the masses by campaigning. I did not know who President Bill Clinton was before he ran for office, but look at what he accomplished concerning the economy and America’s perception to the rest of the world. I’m giving PRESIDENT OBAMA a chance just like many have given George W. Bush a chance to send this country to he!!. Many believe that one man can not reverse the condition we are in, but I beg the differ. If one man dismantled so much in 8 years then why can’t one man reverse the evil done? He can set this country back on the path to recovery and hopefully another George Bush or no one like minded will be elected to office after PRESIDENT OBAMA serves 8 years.

I got a laugh out of that — but at the same time it’s so pathetic.

    Terrance,

Thank you for pointing out just one of the reasons a person with a conscience before God can’t vote for Obama, which is his Anti-Pro-life position. He supports the concept of late-term abortion, and he has stated that a doctor is justified in allowing a baby born alive (from a failed) abortion. This is an unbiblical and un-Christian viewpoint.

While the question of life is “above” Barack Hussein Obama’s “pay grade,” King David of the Old Testament put it this way:
    13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

    14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
    were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
    (Psalm 139:13-16, New International Version)

And in the call of Jeremiah the prophet:
4 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
    (Jeremiah 1:4-6, New International Version)
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Here are OBAMA’S OWN WORDS as argued against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypDwNpgIUQc

Then when Obama was confronted clearly about it, he said that “I’m sorry but those people lied” and he went on to elaborate using one of his common diversionary phrases, like: “I was against the language of the bill.”

“…the language of the bill…” This is so deceitful. It presumes the lack of knowledge of the public. We are the ignorant ones.

That includes all of us Terrance. The Obamessiah talks down to both you and me when he makes statements like this. Here is another video where Obama’s lie is exposed and the true wording of the bill is explained on CNN:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlBj9mzqOIU&feature=related

I hope truth matters to you brother Terrance, because one day each of will stand before God not because we voted for or against a mere man, but because we either accepted the truth of God’s Word or we rejected it. It is not where we stand for the president of the United States, but where we stand with Jesus Christ, the Savior.

I, by the way was born very early. I could have been a late-term abortion.
I was born alive, “by accident” weighing 3 pounds, 11 oz.

And I’m alive and well and will stand before God with thanksgiving. With all my frailties, faults, and sins forgiven, I know that I have Eternal Peace because of what the True Messiah had done for me.

Am I serious? I’m totally serious. Why do you think I spend hours researching and writing so that I can intelligently defend my views – as well as to discover the views of others? I want to find out what people think and why.

Specifically, which fact or point do you dispute? Come on, use your skills of logic and argumentation. Stick to the issue.

Barrack made the statement — not Sarah Palin – though she would make a great president — but she is NOT the issue.

Barrack Hussein Obama is the one running for president. He said some things I don’t like, and I don’t believe. We have a right to question that. Look, if a person doesn’t like to be called out for the statements they make — fine, those people should be silent.

Or maybe they should not run for office. I obviously don’t mind people calling me out. If I’m a liar, prove it. If I’m mistaken, I’m willing to be pointed to the truth.

I’m not afraid of information, or the correct presentation and interpretation of facts. Bring it on.

On the other hand, Obama made a statement that has been disproven. Plain and simple. You can’t say you are for a bill in front of the camera, when you have said — AND VOTED — against it in the Senate.

Which part of this is not true? Back it up with facts please!

    When I hear people say,
“Oh Please! I can’t take it!”
“Please stop with all this garbage!”

This is the new fascism folks! Instead of fighting with logic and facts it immediately turns to an effort to silence opposition.

Do your homework, then come to the table with evidence! Listen carefully to Obama’s words — He said “I would have” supported the bill. Notice also, he immediately accused the other side of lying (a very easy statement to make when one is never held accountable for their words), which was yet another lie! He carefully — cunningly said that he would not support the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

To illustrate (not to prove that all Obama supporters are like this), but only to show how folks don’t listen, please check out Howard Stern’s interviews of Obama supporters on the streets of Harlem.

LOL. DAN YOU’RE WASTING YOUR FINGER ENERGY, BECAUSE THE READERS OF THIS SITE ARE OBAMA FOR LIFE. NOW I DISAGREE WITH THE THOUGHT THAT BLACK PEOPLE ARE VOTING FOR HIM JUST BECAUSE HE’S BLACK. I JUST WANTED MEDIAOUTRAGE TO TELL BOTH SIDES OF THE STORY. DAN YOU HAVE PROVIDED SOME OF THE INFO I SENT TO MEDIAOUTRAGE VIA EMAIL.

@Terrence I so love your knowledge, talk to me all day.

@ Dan why you do not think Sara Palin is a big part of McCains service in Washington is beyond me, same as Joe Biden. It is very important who succeeds the president should something happen to him, her views are just as dangerous as you make Sen Obamas out to be.
Not one time have you answered any questions put to you, all you want to do is have a one sided show and tell. Take your blinders off where Obama is concerned and produce a bigger picture where both candidates are concerned, why not include their running mates and ask yourself the same you ask us that support Sen Obama. What qualifies McCain? What is his character? Whar are his religious views? Why did he pick his vp? based on what? Is he guility by association of the people in his pass? What will you stand to gain Dan, with the policies McCain wants to implement should he become president? and the most important one that has been asked of us, Are you not voting for Sen Obama because he is black?

RV, I’ve listed reasons why I support PRESIDENT OBAMA and the reasons why I feel he’s qualified. I don’t worship him or any man for that matter. Your approach is all wrong. By the way, I’m glad to see your back at it. I knew you couldn’t get enough of these “MEDIAOUTRAGE OBAMA WORSHIPERS”. What I don’t understand about your argument is you know that this site endorses PRESIDENT OBAMA yet you continue to moan in agony over the fact that they refuse to showcase the info you provided. Now tell me RV what sense does that make? The owners of this site want PRESIDENT OBAMA to take his rightful place in office, so why would they do anything to jeopardize that? That’s like the Palin supporters complaining about Oprah refusing to allow Palin time on her show. That’s completely brainless. Oprah supports PRESIDENT OBAMA and she has the right to allow or deny anyone she chooses because it’s her show, just like the owners of this site. If you are unhappy with that sour fact then I suggest you build a site of your own and accumulate millions of viewers and endorse who and what ever you desire. Now amuse me, can you give me “one 1 won” reason why Bush I mean McCain is qualified? First of all, you should be praying that McCain isn’t elected to office because he has Palin as his sidekick. This woman has been filmed saying some of the most hair brained things ever recorded on camera. If she’s qualified to be VP then Diddy should run for office next election because they both have about the same insight on foreign policy. That alone should force you to vote for PRESIDENT OBAMA. OK little homie get at me!

OPRAH DIDN’T LEND HER COUCH TO SARAH PALIN, OR HILLARY CLINTON WHICH IS FINE. OPRAH ALSO HAS NOT USED HER STAGE TO THROW DIRT ON THE OTHER SIDE LIKE MEDIAOUTRAGE HAS. THIS ELECTION IS VERY SERIOUS. I’M ASSUMING THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF YOUNG IMPRESSIONABLE YOUNG ADULTS THAT READ THIS SITE FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT ASPECT. SO WHY POLLUTE THEIR MINDS AND INDOCTRINATE THEM WITH AN UNREALISTIC VIEW OF OBAMA WHO IS JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN. I’M NOT SAYING THAT HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY. JUST GIVE THE UN PERVERTED TRUTH TO THE READERS. ADULTS OVER 30 ARE PRETTY KNOWLEDGEABLE TO THE MECHANICS OF POLITICS. I AM SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT BOTH CANDIDATES ARE SAYING EVERYTHING THEY CAN JUST TO GET ELECTED. YOUNG PEOPLE MIGHT NOT REALIZE THAT, WHICH IS WHY I SAY THAT THE MEDIAOUTRAGE STAFF (WHICH I’M SURE IS NOT THE LEAST BIT NAIVE) IS PAINTING THIS FLAWLESS PICTURE OF OBAMA. I WON’T EVEN DARE ASK THE QUESTION OF WHETHER THE WRITERS AND OWNERS OF THIS SITE ARE BLACK.

I don’t watch fox, because I don’t think they can separate spin from facts. I do watch CNN, even when they don’t paint my candidate in a good light, at least it’s balanced. Same here.

Why do you assume we are all young and not intelligent enough to make up our minds based on, three debates, researching for ourselves their tax plans, health care, foreign policies, and how they plan to dig the US out of this economic slump. Tell me what post Mo put out that told anyone how to vote and who to vote for….

RV, you do know that this is a gossip site right? That means they have the liberty unlike Oprah to pretty much say what ever they choose without fear of public opinion. Again, this site is in PRESIDENT OBAMA’S corner and it would be contradictory to itself to post anything that could jeapardize his victory. As far as those impressionable young adults, I’m pretty sure they’re getting all sorts of opinions about PRESIDENT OBAMA via television, internet, and news papers. If this site is that influential that it makes them support him too, then Mediaoutrage has done its job. Be careful RV you’re starting to sound like that dunce Sarah (commentor 33) with your last statement and I know you are much more informed than her.

Qualifications to be President of the United States

You have to be a natural-born US Citizen (a citizen from birth – but not necessarily born in the USA, which is a common misconception).

You have to be at least 35 years of age.

You have to have resided in the US for the last 14 years.

Hell, Im qualified to be President. I might be over qualified, I have a degree in Security Management.

  88. RubHer Says:

    @Dan

I don’t absorb or follow “politricks” but the answer Why Obama? is simple. There IS no alternative. Obama’s rhetoric and liberalism may be inadequate, but McCain’s conservatism is unacceptable.

GREED has been the given reason for the economic crisis. But greed is what this country was erected upon. World Wars, Crusades, Slavery all carried an implicit economic dimension. Today the worlds economy is manipulated and directed principally by “Christians”.

“A fertilizer bomb that kills hundreds in Oklahoma. Fuel laden civil jets that kill 4000 in New York. A sanctions policy that kills one and a half million in Iraq. A trade policy that immiserates continents. You can make a bomb out of anything. The ones on paper hurt the most”. Raj Patel

Radical Islamics? Historically bloodier Radical Christianity is similarly as perverse and damaging. Bush Jr. owes his 8yrs and “accomplishments” to this faction. God may create us equal but we all know we are not born equal. The institutions and hegemony of our country and our allies have effectively subordinated the rest of the world.

The mortgage crisis was more about GREED than anything in the name of ending discrimination. This greed is what has lead to our current market morality. Obama will certainly not change wholly the American economy but he may succeed in promoting non-market values back to the forefront of American’s lives.

Worth is what people ascribe to a thing, not what the thing is truly made of. What accomplishments?
There is one major accomplishment Obama has undertaken. As a black man, with as u say, a questionable past, little experience, an with the name Hussien Obama, has moved the nation to nominate him as it’s democratic representative and soon elect him as first African American president, despite the bigots, conservatives, and intelligent critics like yourself.

As for his ascendancy…you of all people should know, god works in mysterious ways.

    To answer this question:

    “Paul Says:
    October 23, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Dan I have a question for you. You wrote “Barrack made the statement — not Sarah Palin – though she would make a great president — but she is NOT the issue.” Why do you believe Sarah Palin would make a great president?”

    First, some background.
Barrack-Messiah, was asked the question from Rick Warren:
“At what point does a baby get human rights, in your view?”

He stammered and stuttered before he came up with the following clever answer (His exact words):

“Well, I think that whether you’re looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade. But let me just speak more generally about the issue of abortion because this is something I — obviously, the country wrestles with.

One thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is that there is a moral and ethical element to this issue. And so I think anybody who tries to deny the moral difficulties and gravity of the abortion issue, I think, is not paying attention. So that would be point number one.

But point number two: I am — I am pro-choice. I believe in Roe v. Wade. And I come to that conclusion not because I’m pro-abortion but because, ultimately, I don’t think women make these decisions casually. I think they wrestle with these things in profound ways, in consultation with their pastors, or their spouses, or their doctors [and] their family members.

And, so for me, the goal right now should be — and this is where I think we can find common ground — and by the way, I’ve now inserted this into the Democratic Party platform — is: how do we reduce the number of abortions? Because the fact is is that, although we’ve had a President who is opposed to abortion over the last eight years, abortions have not gone down. And that, I think, is something that we have to …”

John McCain was asked the identical question and the answer from this mere mortal was, without stammering and hesitation:

    “At the moment of conception.

    I have a 25-year pro-life record in the
Congress, [and] in the Senate. And as President of the United States , I will be a pro-life President, and this Presidency will have pro-life policies.

That’s my commitment; that’s my commitment to you.”

That was his entire answer. Whether a person agrees with or not, we know where he stands, and there’s no “fluff” for various constituencies.

The statement that I was referring to earlier was how PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, Barrack Hussein Obama danced around his the fact of his voting record and his STATMENTS that support his late-term abortion stance, opposing the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA).

Then when Obama was confronted clearly about it, he said that “I’m sorry but those people lied” and he went on to elaborate using one of his common diversionary phrases, like: “I was against the language of the bill.”

That was the STATEMENT I was referring to. He is the one who speaks with a “forked tongue” and he’s the candidate for president.

Senator Palin is not the issue, but since she says what she means, and does not mince her words, and is a person of clear moral character, yes, in fact, she would make a “darn good” president.

She earned her election as governor of Alaska honestly, not like Obama.

She currently has the highest voter approval record of ANY elected official above congressman level in the country.

First paragraph from an article in the Weekly Standard entitled: “The Most Popular Governor”

    by Fred Barnes
    07/16/2007, Volume 012, Issue 41

    “Juneau
The wipeout in the 2006 election left Republicans in such a state of dejection that they’ve overlooked the one shining victory in which a Republican star was born. The triumph came in Alaska where Sarah Palin, a politician of eye-popping integrity, was elected governor. She is now the most popular governor in America, with ‘AN APPROVAL RATING IN THE 90′S’, and probably the most popular public official in any state.”

Let’s put it another way, give me YOUR statistics — please cite the next most popular governor, and the approval rating by his or her respective constituency.

And there are many other articles that support this. We could make the statement safer by saying that she is one of the most popular governors in recent history.

And it’s not because of rhetoric — not because she was a community organizer, but because she does her job well — most women should be proud of her.

  93. Dan Says:

Regarding some of the loose comments referring to Christian terrorists, please name the organizations the military factions, the political parties that support, and are engaging in “Christian terrorism” across the globe today.

Citing Vernon Richards, analysis in his book “Islam Undressed”:

“But the truth is that the Crusades were not religiously inspired unprovoked aggressions intended to forcibly convert the non-Christian world. In A Concise History of the Crusades, by renowned medieval historian Thomas F. Madden, the record is set straight. The Crusades, he shows, were not the brainchild of an ambitious pope, nor were they inspired by opportunistic, cold-blooded plundering knights. What they were was a much delayed response to more than four centuries of conquests in which Muslims had already captured two thirds of what was the old Christian world. At some point, Christianity as a faith and a culture had to defend itself or be subsumed by Islam. The Crusades were that defense. The story of the Crusades is one of Western reaction to Muslim advances — they were no more offensive than was the American invasion of Normandy.” (p.52-53)

The same book lists “Recent Islamic Terrorism Actions, by Country”

Just to give a sample here is ONLY the first country:

ALGERIA – Approximately 130,000 people have been killed in Algeria during the last 9 years or so. The incidents are too numerous to report in any detail, and continue today. Below is one story from one of the survivors of an Islamic terrorist attack. The Muslim terrorists are not responsible for all the deaths; the Algerian police and Army have also killed many. However, the Muslim terrorists frequently target civilians, children, and those that are unable to defend themselves. By one account Muslim terrorists stabbed to death 4 French nuns.

Here is a long (but shortened) list of the terrorism that has taken place in Israel:

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Lopsided statistics citing only the number of deaths of each side do not answer the question of the parties’ moral culpability and standing for acts causing the casualties. Consider that, of the current causalities in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, 2.5% of Palestinian deaths were female, all unintended targets (or female homicide bombers). Contrast that with 36% of Israeli victims being female, and targeted. There have also been hundreds of other shooting, vehicular, mortar, bomb, and stabbing attacks not listed here. The following is a chronology of only the Palestinian homicide/suicide bombing attacks since Palestinians chose violence September 2000:

Do your homework. Don’t give a bunch of nonsense about “Christian terrorism” Don’t be ridiculous. You can’t blame World Wars on Christians. Humanity, yes — and that includes you.

Islam represents a real threat today – in our world – the one we live in. Why? – because at the very least, it is a religion that has a world view that does not tolerate the co-existence of other world views such as this one which we enjoy right now. Islam, at the very least harbors within its religion “radical, terrorist Islam” without condemning it and without taking any action whatsoever to stop its spread. Here on this blog we can debate and discuss Islam and politics. Try doing this in Algeria or Pakistan my friend.

I Read this in Dan’s Post. “Barrack was attending communist rallies and involved in Marxist ideals around the time he was writing his thesis.” This is a no brainer, he was attending communist rallies because he was gathering Info and facts for his Masters thesis.

Sure, whatever you say 2020… And what exactly am I supposed think from that statement — that Obama is a John-Birch-Society right-winger? Have you read Obama’s thesis?

No — you haven’t. Obama will not let anyone read it. Well, he may have allowed Bill Ayers to read it ;)

I think this not “Executive Privilege” but this is “Messiah Privilege” — and only Barack Hussein Obamas has it.

Just believe. Have faith. There’s no reason to question anything. If you want to believe he will solve the economic crisis, just believe. If you want to think Obama will make the world a happier place, just believe. If you want a healthier, greener earth, just beleive. If you think he is everything YOU think he says he is, just believe.

Too bad though — some people don’t beleive that he is qualified to be president because he’s not a ‘natural born’ citizen. (Those infidels! Imagine — such godless arrogance to expect real proof of birth like any other candidate! Even ASKING such a question!)

One site that has been following that question on the assumptionn that Obama was born in Hawaii has recently posted some new information:

    “Barack Hussein Obama II
    By Judah Benjamin, Guest Author

It has been asserted by a number of sources, including Andy Martin, that Barack Hussein Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya and not in Hawaii. Philip Berg’s Latest Motion to the Court is more explicit since it gives an exact Place of Birth. I must assume that Berg did not simply pluck the Location out of thin air, Mombasa has more than one Hospital, though Coast Provincial General was the best in 1961.

British Birth Certificates have a Standard Format which has been more or less the same since 1837 and they can only be challenged in a British Court. Kenyan Law is explicit and can only be challenged in a Kenyan Court. Indonesian Law is explicit and can only be challenged in an Indonesian Court. Be clear, if Obama was born in Kenya this is not simply a matter for the US Courts, or US Law.

If he was born in Kenya, and his parents were Legally Married [which on the Preponderance of Evidence they were, his father's first "Marriage" being a Tribal, or Village, Marriage, which was not Legally Recognized] due to the age of his mother he would NOT have been a US Citizen. The Immigration and Nationality Act 1952, 8 U.S.C. 1401. Sec. 301 (g) [Effective November 14, 1986] does not apply, nor does Title III, Immigration and Nationality Act Section 309. [8 U.S.C. 1409].

Unless he has taken the Oath of Allegiance as a Naturalized Citizen since he was 18 years old, and if he was born in Mombasa, Kenya, Barack Hussein Obama II would not be a US Citizen, period. The issue of whether or not he was Natural Born under Article II of the Constitution of the United States would cease to matter and he would need to be Deported as an Illegal Alien.

Impeachment as a Senator would seem not to be necessary since he would never Legally have been one, but Diane Feinstein and the members of the Senate Ethics and Rules Committee would be liable to Impeachment. So would their opposite numbers in the Illinois Senate and the appropriate officials of the Illinois State Supreme Court and Bar, so far as I can see.

If Senator Barack Hussein Obama II was born in The Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombasa in Kenya at 7.24 PM on August 4th 1961, or at any other time, he is not a Natural Born Citizen of these United States and he never was. Philip J Berg, Esq, is correct, under the Nationality Act of 1940, as Revised June 1952 and in accord with United States of America vs Cervantes-Nava 281 F 3d 501 (2002) and Drozd vs INS, 155 F 3d 81, 85-88 (2d Circuit 1998) Senator Barack Hussein Obama II would not ever have been a Legal US Citizen at all, unless he was Naturalized.

If he was born in The Coast Provincial General Hospital at Mombasa in Kenya any Certificate, or Certification of Live Birth, issued for him by the State of Hawaii is a Fraudulent and Illegal Document. At Birth he would have been a UK and Colonies Citizen and in accord with the Kenyan Constitution he would have become a Kenyan Citizen in December 1963. He would not have been a US Citizen.”

DO NOT CHECK OUT ANYTHING — JUST BELIEVE!
… but if there is a little bit of skeptical blood in you, you can read the rest of what Mr. Benjamin wrote:

Dan it’s cool. All I’m saying and every other person on this blog is there are EXTREMIST in all religions and Christianity isn’t an exception. Don’t bury your head in the sand and pretend radicals don’t exist in Christianity. I’m not going to waste my time trying to further expand on my point of view with facts (comments #66,#87). As far as the book you’ve found to support your argument, any author can put their spin on a historical event to persuade the reader. Also, the book you briefly critiqued is written from a biased point of view. Examine the language and what is written. It’s obvious that the author is not a follower of Islam and therefore, doesn’t agree with its teachings. Dan I’ve taken many college courses that expanded my knowledge on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. One course in particular (Problems in World Justice) stands out to me right now because you’re proving my professor’s point. You read about or watch tv depict the horrible Palestinian suicide bombers who claim so many Israeli lives. What you are not informed about is the Israeli counter attack that claims far more Palestinian lives. The Palestinians do not have an army, so their warfare tactics are primitive. The Israelis on the other hand, have an army who are supplied weapons by the USA and are far superior. So you can continue to unearth as many books as you want. That’s just a shame you’re fine with Muslims dying for you but you cringe at the thought of a Muslim president. There might come a day when a decorated war veteran runs for office and he/she might be a devout Muslim.

    [Reply]

  97. Dan Says:

    Terrance,

Listen carefully. I know the son of one of the founders of Hamas. His father is in jail right now in Israel. He has converted to follow Christ. His opinion is based on his inside experience as a member of a terrorist organization that hates Christians (whatever moves and identifies itself with Christianity) and Jews (and all people sympathetic or related to Jews or Judaism).

He has warned us in the U.S. to stop being so naive–before it is too late. He spoke last Friday on this subject, and stated clearly that “Islam” (not just radical terrorism) has the stated aim “to destroy and replace” Christianity… particularly in the U.S.

    Yes.

This isn’t a website or a book I’m referring to, but what I witnessed with my own ears. How many of you Kool-Aid drinking Obamians can say this? Do you know any former Hamas party member? I have other friends from Lebanon, Egypt, and Iraq who know this issue and who are alarmed at what is going on. (Outside of Iraq, where I live is one of the highest populations of Kurds and Chaldeans in the U.S.) My immigrant friends who rejector Islam think that the people in the U.S. are like lemmings be led right off a cliff.

I can’t even begin to take seriously some of the nonsense that has been said on this blog. So I simply ignore some of those posts. They don’t mean anything. But as far as studying history, I am a student, and yes, some folks have a bias. When you have knowledge, or expertise in an area, it is impossible to be in a position of being “open-minded.” You are right about that. I’m sorry, but some of us ARE biased. That’s what you should expect when a person has studied an issue thoroughly.

For example, I wrote a 300 + page ‘paper’ a little over one year ago. In my research log, I read about 20,000 pages of material. That’s research. Yes, I’m biased. (Unlike Messiah Obama though, if it was my thesis, you can be sure, that I would be happy to let everyone read it! ;) )

Hatred is what motivates terrorism. It is not a sadistic thrill, just blind hatred. There has to be an underlying belief system that justifies the intentional killing of innocent victims. They are just part of the cost. A little child, whether it be Jew, or Christian is just as much an infidel and deserving of death as his parents.

Terrorists live with this kind of ‘simplified’ world-view. There is no difference between a nominal Christian or a devout, prayerful follower of Jesus who serves selflessly his fellow man. To the terrorist, if you are an American, you are ‘Christian’ and you have one option: become a Muslim. If not, eventually you and your people and your nation will be overthrown.

It is just a matter of time — in their view.

That’s what that list of terrorist attacks and ‘suicide bombings’ was for. Just a small reminder of what has been an alarming trend these last 40+ years.
    It’s not revenge.
It’s not defense, as an engagement of war – or a counter-attack as the Allied forces against Hitler’s army.
It’s not even a perverted, misguided sense of justice, like getting back for what the Crusaders did.
It is evil that has blinded people in these times we live in. When evil resides in the hearts of a group of people who think they must take action to satisfy hatred’s thirst, then scattered body parts, blood, maimed and hurting is justified. It is right. It is ‘noble’ hate. It is hatred strengthened by the belief that they are meant to rule and Allah is using them as his instruments to bring this about a new ‘religious’ empire. As Nonie Darwish put it simply:

“As a child I attended Gaza elementary schools .
We were taught that Jihad is a religious holy war for the sake of Allah.
That is what it is, to conquer the world for Allah.”

For reference and a brief breakdown of the approximately 270 million who died as result of Jihad go to:
    http://www.primechoice.com/philosophy/jihad.htm

I’m sorry folks, but even a slightly Islamic background in the context of the times we live in, is a legitimate cause for hesitation. When it comes to choosing our president it is reason for a thorough investigation.

Obama has not given us that opportunity. Everything is off-limits, including criticism or questioning.

It’s not just the media that thinks Obamah is the Messiah:

Oliver North reported that this Wednesday a Messiah-chanting event:

“During Wednesday afternoon’s rush hour, I was making my way home on the “Dulles Greenway” when a phalanx of police motorcycles and cruisers stopped all traffic and ordered us to pull our vehicles off the highway onto the shoulders. Over a loudspeaker we were told to stay put until the Obama campaign convoy passed, on the way to a rally in Leesburg, Virginia.

Instantly, hundreds of people were out of their cars. Directly in front of me a group of supporters — evident by their bumper-stickers — jumped out with cameras, cell-phones and banners.

They began chanting: “The Messiah! He’s coming! Obama is coming!”

The shouting only intensified as the candidate and his entourage — motorcycles, police cars, black Secret Service Suburbans and busses — roared past us.

What I found so disturbing was seeing so many of my countrymen who apparently think — or believe — or hope — that the next president of the United States will save us from ourselves. Senator Obama has said we can not, “Wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” He would do well to remember that unfulfilled expectations are the greatest cause of anger on the planet… He might also recall that humility is a virtue that has distinguished our greatest leaders.

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,443829,00.html

It’s the only explanation. The Messiah needs no introduction, no explanation — Obama just is — . Like the old Coke commercial, “He’s the real thing!”

He’s the “I AM.” Perhaps because he’s come from heaven we can’t get him to respond with an authenticated (vault copy) of his birth certificate.

And you had the nerve to defer to Fox news…. which is the most racist news organization on cable tv.

Yea, sorry, but I don’t care what your temporary feelings are or whether you believe what I’ve reported. I only presented news and information. I have not lied about anything. If I have call me out on it and be specific. And you call that narrow? Why? Because you don’t like hearing that another side actually exists? Why don’t you complain to Oliver North about what he wrote or to Fox News?

I’ve lived in a third-world socialist country. I know what hyperinflation is and how politicians buy votes with a “food-basket” and empty promises. I know that the risks are real.

Yea, I back up almost everything I say with some kind of support. For example, recently the famous comments by Obama exposing his socialist leanings with his tax and spread the wealth remarks with Joe (the plumber) Wurzlebacher:

“Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” Wurzlebacher asked.

“It’s not that I want to punish your success,” Obama explained. “I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” ”
    http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2008/10/14/obamas-tax-plan-and-the-redistribution-of-wealth/

You could help me out by giving some reason for your objections — something specific that could enlighten me and support your view. Then maybe I will look less narrow-minded…
and you will look more open-minded.

After the Messiah is elected (maybe I should say His being “chosen” comes to pass) we will be stuck with him and his policies and the subsuequent damage for years to come.

Still, in all these posts NO ONE has presented a long list or short list of the Messiah’s presidential-worthy accomplishments. If someone were to give me such a list, I would consider casting my vote for Obama.

    Cordially,

    Dan

    @all, mostly Dan.

Radical Fundamentalist Islam is separate from traditional Islam.
Radical Islam is a reactionary effect to the subordination of non-western nations and the inflating influence of western culture on the world. The implied superiority and hypocrisy of the G8 nations has fueled this. If hatred is now in the hearts and minds of Islamic fundamentalists, it is because of the long history of orchestration by the western world in the affairs of their countries.

U stated what it means to be a true Christian. That rings hollow in the silence of Christians with the rise of Modernity and the hand that Christian civic and corporate leaders have played in the devastation of communities across the Earth.

U asked to list “Christian terrorists org.” Let’s start with American and Europeon MNC’s business as usual operations and the private armies efforts employed to secure them. Principally Christians.

“It has been Christian (or post-Christian) cultures that have led the world in recent times into the unabashed worship of wealth.” J.B. Cobb Jr.

I do not mean to state blame on Christians for this brutal economism, but certainly fundamental Islamics do. U spoke of “nonsense” expressed in some posts, I assume, as u didn’t reply, u include my previous. NOTHING i have stated is untrue. It is not surprising to avoid truth when engaging in politricks.

“conservatives….the narrowness of their viewpoints reflects the narrowness of the liberal perspective with which they are obsessed.” C.W.

Economics is the sidestep to all world affairs. It is naive to not consider this fact. Middle Age Europe may have heard the murmur of Islam, but certainly used the wealth of the recaptured Muslim east to gild the treasuries of the Church and King.

I respect your informed viewpoints but recognize u cannot see the forest for the trees. Obama is a transcendent figure because he represents progression. Whether or not he justifies this admiration or will actualize this remains to be seen. Why he is worthy is a mute point. He is the Democratic nominee and McCain/Palin is an unacceptable choice to many in this country. THAT is why he garners support.
