We were treated with disrespect and degraded as second class citizens of this country. This country that our ancestors helped to build with blood, sweat and tears..my great great grandmother was forced to bear over 15 mulatto slaves with her Caucasian master! Last night I was filled with joy as I remembered my family history and the pain and agony that my ancestors endured and I was grateful that God allowed me to see this historic moment! There are soo many individuals that are unaware of the humiliation that African Americans suffered in this country. How we were not permitted to vote? The civil rights movement? How the racist people and government of this country killed our many leaders? If you had known this history then you would surely understand why this is such a monumental event in African American history. Yes you are very naive. How the heck could race be such an issue on CNN. This seems to be such an amazing feat.........why???? We are all humans, Barak was the best choice to correct the deficit affecting both contries.....why the issue???? Is it becuase I am Canadian that I do not get the race benefit???? I am not naive that race plays into alot of our business and life experiences but have we not overcome most of those issues to the degree that CNN plays them to be, maybe I am the naive one!
