It’s not easy being Damon Dash, has-been hip-hop mogul.

The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear – who in 2005 sold his share in the clothing empire to Jay-Z for $20 million – is under assault in Manhattan Supreme Court from lawyers, lenders and landlords fed up with not getting paid.

Kanye was arrested early this morning at a hotel in England after he got into a scuffle with a photographer. The photog says Yeezy spazzed out on him and smashed his grill piece. Kanye was released from custody and charges will not be filed.

Here’s what Kanye had to say about his legacy:

“I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice,” he said in an interview on Wednesday. “It’s me settling into that position of just really accepting that it’s one thing to say you want to do it and it’s another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan.”

“There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin went on vacation I made albums,” he said. “And it just came out to be that.”

With the release of her 3rd solo album only 4 days away, it seems that Matthew Knowles and the gang have cranked up the publicity engine something nice. Somewhere, there’s a talented as hell singer, who’s probably surviving on McDonalds while living in a one room apartment with no windows, pondering whether to use the revolver or SK to transfer their brains to the table, just because they’re not recieving any pub at all, and their cd has been shelved more than an old stankin’ library book.
