Christine Beatty pleaded guilty today to two felonies and will spend 120 days in jail for her part in the text message scandal that removed Kwame Kilpatrick as Mayor of Detroit.

Christine Beatty, once Detroit’s most powerful woman as a top aide to Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, today pleaded guilty to two felonies and will serve 120 days in jail for her role in the text-message scandal that also brought down her former boss.
Beatty, who admitted guilt to two counts of obstructing justice for lying in a police whistle-blower case, also will be on probation for five years. During that time, she will have to reimburse the City of Detroit for $100,000 if she is able.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said after the hearing that Beatty’s deal doesn’t call for her to cooperate in any ongoing probes of Kilpatrick or city officials.
“The cooperation wasn’t a consideration,” she said. “I’ve said all along this is an ongoing investigation.”
Beatty, standing before Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny, choked up and paused before admitting her crimes, accepting a tissue from a sheriff’s deputy before speaking.
She then took a deep breath and repeated the line uttered by Kilpatrick when he pleaded guilty in September.
“I lied under oath,” Beatty told the judge. He accepted her plea deal and set a sentencing date of Jan. 5, when she will enter the Wayne County Jail.
“The chapter on the perjury allegations … is now closed. But we are continuing to investigate other matters,” Worthy said, declining to be specific. But she said the more than 625,000 text messages obtained by her office are a treasure trove of information.
Mediaoutrage- Damn, 625,000 text messages? That’s a lot of text sexing. SMH. Ol’ Christine just better start getting them tongue excersises ready because there’s a few rough chicks probably waiting to get they sweat boxes tongued down.

She will be alright. She just needs to trust in GOD. 120 days aint nothing but 4 months and it sounds like she will be in the County Jail. Better that than boot camp or prison.

625,000 text messages?!?! They wasnt doing shit at work except sending messages. Something tells me that their production was throwed and they wasnt carrying their load.
They got off easy. Why do people get chocked up and all teary eyed after they have been caught and have to face the music? I bet she wasnt chocked up when she was sending text messages to another womans husband telling him that she wanted to give him some “smokin top” or asking him when he was going to leave his wife for her. They got big headed and was running around having a good time on the tax payers dollars acting like they were untouchable. He wearing alligator shoes and $1,000 suits to court acting like he in charge of the court room waving, smiling and chunkin up deuces. Im sorry folks but this was some unadulterated……….Hoarse Hockey!!!!!!!

I think most of the women that mess with married men, may have low self esteem, be living in a delusion or be unable to committ completely in a relationship.
If I was in her shoes, I’d leave the state when my term is served I would be too ashamed to show my face in public after this mess!
