Danity Kane Breaks Up

Danity Kane has been dismembered according to Dawn Richard. Diddy put the group together for Making The Band.

When “Making the Band” returns on February 12, fans already know two former members will be missing: Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods, who were dismissed from the group by Diddy last season. But they’ll probably be surprised that Shannon Bex isn’t there either, which apparently means the end of the band.
“As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist],” Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). “It’s devastating for me.”
“You’ll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn’t even make,” she continued. “We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That’s fine if that’s the choice.
“It changes [our situation] completely,” she said. “We have fans out there who love Danity Kane. We love Danity Kane. It’s hard. We’re sitting here trying to make sense of it now. It’s hard. We’re put in this position that we didn’t ask to be in and we’re being told to fix it.”
Richard said that Bex apparently made the decision not to show up for the season on her own.
“I don’t know why [Bex left]. I think she’s just happy. I don’t want to even try to answer it ’cause that’s not fair to her. I haven’t [spoken to her] but I heard she’s doing well with her husband and she got a house. I love her, but I don’t know.”
Richard admitted that she was as surprised as anyone that she and Drea were the only members on the set. “We are the only two that showed up,” she said. “The thing about it … I thought we were all going to come back and talk, or maybe if Aubrey didn’t come back, ’cause I don’t know how Puff was feeling about that, if the four of us got together. I didn’t know what to expect. I just know I got off the plane and found out I was the only one there and Drea came the next day.”

danity kane wasnt going anywhere anyway in my opinion. i wasnt a huge fan of theirs . i liked show stopper and damaged . but i feel like w/ puffy u r only going to have one album maybe two and then u are M.I.A. wat happened to loon, da band, black rob, dream , etc. shit it seems like puffy dont even have artists on his label. he hype up their first album and ppl go platinum and then the second album come out and its D.O.A lol . i do agree with puff that aubrey changed . she doesnt look or act the same . she wanted to be the lead , the star of the group , i completely agree with him on that . but hw r u going to ask her for an opinon, she give it , u dnt like it, bcuz shes prob telling the truth and it shows u n a negative light , and u fire her . wth . and anyway i jus heard yesterday that dawn is the only one left . shes solo and puff let aundrea go .

@ beach chick . day 26 is not goin to be around . shit to me puff dnt have artists lol. the only ppl he rep on bad boy is HIM ( LOL) and BIG . and who knows how he wud have treated b.i.g. as an artist down the line . man , for real im waiting on total to come back lol they were the shit

Danity Kane lasted longer than I anticipated. They were money makers, I can’t believe he disbanded them..nah I can.

No I didn’t care for them…I saw the show a few seasons ago and then I started boycotting MTV’s wack a$$ reality shows. Diddy needs to just give it up..the label Bad Boy should be changed to Dead Boy cause all the folks on the label have dead careers!!

Awww…there going to be with the rest of Bad Boy’s lost talents….G-dep,Mase,Cain,Dream,Da Band….did I forget anyone? But didn’t they break up during the finale of the show anyway?

@ Arriell- I’m waiting on that Total reunion too. Both their albums were bangers.
Diddy does a good job at the initial hype, but he seems to have trouble with longevity. He keeps trying to reinvent the next big teen group but can’t create a lasting star. That seems to be a recurring theme with him, personally & professionally.
