Beyonce: "I Will Never Retire"
Posted by Media Outrage on February 27th, 2009
Beyonce covers the April 2009 issue of Ebony. In this issue she speaks a little about her marriage to Jay. Right now she definitely has the game in a choke hold. Oh and very soon Bey will be embarking on her world tour for the I Am…Sasha Fierce double album. All we can say is she’s going to make hell-a-cake on this one. She earned $50 million from her last tour.
Check what Beyonce says really gets on Hov’s nerves
“I’m a little messy. Oh, yeah. Whenever I’m out in public, I have to be put together. When I get home, I rebel against it and I don’t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I’m relaxed. I don’t have any shoes on. No makeup. My purse is in the kitchen. I think that is most difficult thing for him. He’s very, very organized. I’m extremely organized when I’m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don’t want to think about anything.”
As for what Jay-Z does that get on her nerves: She laughs, “I won’t say.”
“I will never retire. I love it way to much,” Beyonce shares with Ebony.
“I’ve worked so hard on my craft and I will never stop.”
According to the singer’s sit down with Ebony for its April issue, Beyonce seems fully aware that she’s stepping over an earlier comment that she’d retire to have children in her 20s.
Mediaoutrage- We can understand how she can do it until she’s well into her 70′s. Look at Tina Turner and Patti Labelle. They both look and sound excellent and are in great shape. Singing is definitely a career you can have for a lifetime if you take care of your voice and body.

she sure is bad, and can sing her ass off to me, i love beyonce, no hating here, no need to hate, if you got it, then hell god gave it to you and you suppose TO USE IT!!! i am proud of the sister, and her husband. for me, I am also an educated, black young busines owner, married, w/kids, just two boy and a girl, 4, 7. own home, 2 cars, doing very well, not as rich as my girl. but im not wanting for nothing, and got a whole closet the size of a mid size room full of clothes, so im not hurting at all. but i am willing to give props where its due, and she has 100% of props from me, i mean what can you say bad about her, most chicks get on here and say they sick of seeing her, but hey, she is popular, talented, and beautiful, get use to it, you are gonna see her, and lots of her,

Yea I will never retire, is so overrated cause you will never continue to have the same thing you have when your young. So enjoy now cause later down tha line you would get tired of tha same ole same ole, and of course your gonna wanna retire after your accomplishments.
Do you bey!

Im glad she is doing well and has so many fans! Im also happy for her she is planning on doing this for a lot more years to come! But on another note, who gives a shit? You will retire when the fans decide you retire. Many, many singers wanted to sing until they were medicare eligible, but fell off, ppl stop listening to them, and now they are Dlisted!
To name a few:
Brandy
Mya
Hammer
Ashanti
Dru hill
K-ci & jojo
Tevin campbell
Khia
112
New Edition
Bobby Brown
And the list goes on but these were some of my faves I used to listen to, but fell off! It can happen to anyone!
So do you Bey! And more power to you! But I have never owned a Bey album, never will. No hate. Just not my cup of tea. Im more into the soulful, laid back singers, like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, india Arie

@ Smurfette- you’re right, she’s out when fans say she’s out & it will be tough to maintain her sex symbol image when she’s 50. Unfortunately, as a female entertainer, there will always be someone younger & prettier on your heels.
She’s done well & is set for life money wise, I don’t know why she wouldn’t want to take a break & enjoy all that she’s worked for. What’s the point of killing yourself to earn more & more when she & Jay couldn’t spend all that money in two lifetimes? You see his ass ain’t pressed to work. I wouldn’t want to be compared to Patti or Tina (or Janet for that matter) because, as talented as they are in their field, none have an ideal personal situation. The public is fickle, it’s never worth trading yourself & your life for fans who will jump ship as soon as the wind blows wrong. I pity poor Beyonce, her parents have made her into a prize pony & she’s crazy enough to love it.

& on a whole other note- I’m tired of her trying to look more ‘ethnic’ when she does black magazines…
Ok- now I’m done…

Sweet_Tea I think Beyonce just loves what she does as she says. Jay-Z retired what like 5 years ago but came back and put out 2 more albums and has a third one on the way in a few months. So see they are both addicted to doing what they do. It’s not about the money with Bey because as it stands now, she is worth more than $100 million. I think she just gets personal satisfaction out of recording and performing great music. As it stands now, she can rule the music game for another 6 years easily. There really is no female artist besides Alicia Keys to challenge her right now.
The great thing about being a singer is that a great voice never goes out of style. Her fans will age with her. So by the time she’s 60 if she chooses to still put out music and tour, then her 40, 50 and 60 year old fans will pack out the venues.
Patti and Tina are in good situations in my opinion. Patti has more money than she knows what to do with. Still touring and doing what she loves. What can be better than that?

Brenda, there are many things worth more than money. Everyone knows what Tina sacrificed to get where she is, if she had it all to do over again, who’s to say she would?
Alicia Keys does stand as a challenge to Beyonce but I believe AK would emerge as the winner in the longevity competition. Much of Beyonce’s fame rests on her look and market value as an image. I would put her in the Diana Ross category, she’s hot for our generation but the up & comings will have their own version. AK has never banked on shaking her ass to gain fame & ballads are timeless (hence me putting her in the Mariah category). AK’ll be hitting those notes until she’s 100 and continue to have success without having to reinvent an image as she ages. No doubt Beyonce will be an icon, I just feel like she’ll be more like Madonna in that she’ll be old school eventually.

I think if she doesn’t accomplish anything else… she has done very well for herself.
Keeping a level head and she will be set for life.
Congratulations Bey.
