Billy Ray Cyrus: “Nothing Funny About Jamie’s Comments Towards My Daughter”
Posted by Media Outrage on April 17, 2009
Billy Ray Cyrus has finally expressed his disappointment and hurt over Jamie Foxx’ hilarious verbal attack on his daughter, Miley.
Via Singersroom:
Miley Cyrus’ father Billy Ray says the “jokes” Jamie Foxx told via his Sirius radio show were not so comedic, especially since he has a teenage daughter too.
“There was nothing funny about it and quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic,” Cyrus shared with the “Bonnie Hunt Show” Thursday.
“It was hurtful,” Cyrus offered.
Billy Ray’s comments come after Foxx made a few off cuff comments, which he has since apologized for, regarding “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus including “make a sex tape” and “get like Britney Spears and do some heroin”.
Apologizing via Jay Leno’s late evening broadcast, Foxx said “I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart. Miley, I apologize so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand”.
Mediaoutrage- We understand that because she’s only 16 that people were offended. Our thing is, he’s a damn comedian and that is what he does. Everyone knows, that he didn’t really mean for her to go out and try heroin or make a sex tape. Now those gums, lol, she could use a transplant Lmao! Ashame when you can’t even be funny anymore.

Billy; EVRERYTHING WAS FUNNY… shut the fuck up , your daughter is a brat
April 17, 2009 at 2:02 pm
Oh Lighten the F*ck up..When your precious Miley was posting pics of herself in her underwear on her myspace page..(at age 14/15)..I bet you found that ‘cute/funny’…or the magazine cover where she looks as if she’s half naked..and last but not least the fact that she’s dating a 20 year old..give me a break!!
April 17, 2009 at 2:14 pm
Damn the guy was joking! If he was serious, he’d tell you find a plastic surgeon to cut those awful gums down.
Looks like she was chewing on Raw Goat meat!
April 17, 2009 at 2:25 pm
Get off Jamie’s d*ck, he already apologized.
I will give her a couple of years, she gonna end up doin somethan just like Jamie mentioned. Not even realizing she took his advice, dumbazz!
Now Billy I was just playin, please don’t put me on blast!lol

I have no problem with what was said…they were being funny…offensive, but funny. The thing that really gets me is that once again a group of black people(well one of Jamie’s Co-hosts) said something very racist, calling Miley a Little White Bitch or something like that and it was OK!!! Knowing damn well if Imus would of called a black celeb a little black bitch there would be protest, Jesse Jackson would be pitching a fit, and there would be all types of boycotts and trying to get him fired….again.
I also shocked that non of you caught that. I’m not trying to bash anyone up here, but every single time a white person says or does something that even seems racist ya’ll are all pissed and hoping the person gets, fired rots in hell, etc. However, when a black person is racist there is nothing said. Racism is racism be it black, white, asian, etc, and I really believe whoever made that racist comment was in the wrong and should apologize as well.

Achy-Breaky ( ONE HIT WONDER ) Billy Ray needs to chill, just a joke.

billy ray you and your daughter can go to hell, she is a spoil brat and you know it, jamie fox told the truth, who cares if its a white girl or what, white people call black people names all the time, and gets away with it, billy ray and his daughter can go to hell, they are so annoying. What jamie was saying is that because she didnt meet the group she started throwing a hissy fit, now everyone wants to blame jamie because he told her what she needs to hear, he shouldve told her to shut to hell up and go sing for a bunch of three year old kids, who wants to hear her, people saying she is the darling of the US, I think not, she is a spoil rich brat who wants her own way.
April 17, 2009 at 4:29 pm
billy ray, you use your daughter to hip up your career because it was going downhill, so you should shut to hell up, wasnt your precious little daughter in some pictures with only a sheet in front of her, was she the precious little thing then? she is a spoil brat and she needs to learn some manners, why dont you go home and teach her some. She is not that precious little girl she have lots of boyfriends and she know the ropes already,if I was jamie I wont apologize to her because that makes her look good and innocent. I dont see what the fuss is all about, the guy is a comedian, so billy ray you need to stop trying to get more sympathy than you already got, go away you and your spoil ass daughter.
April 17, 2009 at 5:25 pm
He just needs to sit his old country ass down and shut up. Jamie apologized.
What jamie needs to do is come at billy talking bout how he raises his daughter. 15yrs old posing nude on a magazine cover. in 2yrs “daddy’s little princess” will be a train wreck like britney.
April 17, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Billy Ray needs to sit his a$$ down somewhere, if Jeff Foxworthy cracked a joke on his daughter he’d probably be high fiving him, while slapping his knee in laughter. But since a brotha said some he’s screaming bloody murder and how hurtful it was. C’mon dude you know what the man does for a living, Jamie has joked about his own kids before, he also apologized. Get over it Billy Bob, i meant Billy Rogers, or Billy Ray..whatever!!!
April 17, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Awww boo hoo! The comments broke his achy, breaky heart! Get over it already!
@ Claudette I feel you. I didn’t get to hear what was said so I didn’t know about the little white bitch comment. But whoever did say that was more out of line than Jamie was and they should apologize.
April 17, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Sorry, guys. I like Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus.I have young girls. As far as Jamie Foxx – he’s losing his comedic turn on. He should go with the acting gig. That’s where his niche is. You all know damn well you would be up in arms if a white person said that about Jamie’s daughter. You know it !!! Remember Imus and the “nappy headed hoes” ? Same thing…. same thing.
April 17, 2009 at 11:33 pm
It was hilarious & he already disappointed us and apologized. Stop beating a dead horse Billy Ray. Get a job!
April 17, 2009 at 11:52 pm
Being the daughter of quincy jones i must say i look like an olive tree. really, i am so skinny, ugly and both on the inside and outside. i have a big mouth and thank god i am a celebrity child otherwise i would not make it in this world. i wonder why my dad did not name me olive, like an olive tree?
April 18, 2009 at 2:20 am
Naw that shit WAS NOT funny? That was rude. Jamie just mad it took him 20 years to get recognized, he thinks he’s still 20 yrs old ‘blame it on the alcohol’? How much you gon drink OLD man! I think it was rude for him to come at a child like that. If somebody would have said that about his square ass daughter he would have broke all have. Jamie needs to grow the fuk up FAST!
April 18, 2009 at 5:16 am
I like Jamie Foxx; movies, music, etc… My children like watching Hanna Montana also. Yes I agree that the whole thing is getting out of hand and I DO believe that Jamie was just telling a joke. Comedian’s make jokes about things we are sick of hearing about or something we can relate to. Many people might be sick of hearing about Miley Cyrus/Hanna Montana, but everyone has his/her own opinion.
Here’s the thing; regardless how FUNNY people think Jamie’s comment was and whoever has a “GET OVER IT” attitude, Miley Cyrus is still a kid – teenager. So how low do we sink to laugh at that ignorant sh*t when it comes to kids and adolescents? But then get mad if they get smart a$$ mouths to adults or the girls look like sluts by the way they dress or the boys are ready to get their wiener-meats waxed. What if it were your kids? Billy Ray had every right to make the comment to say “I think if I said those things about his daughter, he might not find it so comedic.” Hell no he wouldn’t find it funny. Have you seen Jamie’s daughter? She’s a beautiful girl. I’d be p*ssed off if she was my daughter and someone had some crazy a$$ sh*t to say or “joke” about the way he did. Get real people….or don’t b*tch when someone does the same SH*T to your kid. Waaaaaa
April 19, 2009 at 8:12 pm
Some sense! Thank you.
April 19, 2009 at 9:34 pm
How was that funny at all? I didnt find it funny at all even thoe he is an comedian so what does that mean he has the right to say whatever he wants about an 16 yr old girl? And for all you people saying for billy ray to go sit down and shut up thats his DAUGHTER that a grown man is talking about. Im sorry but if somebody was talking about my daughter in that kind of way i would defend her too. You cant expect a man to sit back and let somebody make rude comments about his daighter. What kinda bull is that.. I bet you Jaime would’ve got all defensive if it was the other way around
April 20, 2009 at 4:44 am
i agree with Claudette 100%
i surely caught that “lil white bitch” comment.
that was were the line was crossed.
and EVERYBODY KNOWS that if it was the other way around,
Billy Ray Cyrus calling his daughter a “lil black bitch”, ALL YALL would be up in arms.
shit i would be mad as fuck.
that gum comment was hilarious, im not gonna lie.
but it was waayyy out of line.
April 20, 2009 at 1:13 pm
@ Claudette and the FOXX.. I kind of agree and disagrre with yall
Watch Chris Rock’s “kill the Messenger” And it will put a different perspective to what you think is contradicting….
I’m not sayin ya wrong but a group of people have had 2 to 3 hundred years their chance to say and do what ever they wanted to a whole nother group of people in a much different context than comedy..
When Imus does it generates foul memories certain word in relation to what came along with the not so distant past of Black folks in America.. Thats it you don’t have to agree just check the perspective that I’m writing about…
What Jamie said was kind of low but was deemed funny in the particular context.. Comedy yall…
April 20, 2009 at 1:31 pm
Everybodys comments are on point!
April 21, 2009 at 12:01 am
Unfortunately, the comment made by #21 was not ‘on point.’ Jamie’s remarks about Miley, and especially the comment made by someone connected about Miley being a ‘little white bitch’ were out of line. Using the history of racism in this country to justify it is wrong; since black americans have felt the stigma of negative comments about and behaviour toward them, they have an extra responsibility not to do it to anyone else. Putting the remarks in ‘perspective does not change that.

i see where you’re coming from [Banga77],
but like Claudette said, Racism is Racism.
our ancestors suffered through all of that so we could not repeat the same shit.
we cant always use the black card.
