Jay-Z Defends Michael Phelps

Hovy Hov came to the aid of Michael Phelps, for the scrutiny he’s received since the photos surfaced of him smoking marijuana out of a bong.

“You look at all these people who graduated from Princeton and Harvard, who are supposed to be pillars of the community – every day (they’re) in the newspaper arrested for some kind of financial fraud.
Then you look at someone like Michael Phelps. He’s 23. What’s he gonna do? He’s a kid. He’s going to experiment.”

Mediaoutrage-  Everyone does make a mistake or two, but just don’t get caught in the act after bringing  home all those gold medals.

I think that people forget that celebrities are human! I agree M.O. that he should have been more careful considering the fact that so many people look up to him…especially teens and young adults but he is young himself and is only doing what we all are doing…living and learning! It’s called LIFE!

at least he aint smoking damn crack, or shooting heroin, they kill me with these weed campaigns and ads, and heroin junkies and crack heads are multiplying , i know cops, judges and doctors, and lawyers that smoke herb, and glaucoma patients, cancer patients, doctors prescribed marijuana pills for people that has been shot, for pain, i know a guy was shot 5 times, and the doc gave me marijuana pills, so what dude smoked a joint, if that is his choice, so what, its his business, and half of these youths are far gona to set any example for, they smoke more herb than anyone that is an adult, personally i dont smoke it, but i dont knock anyone that does, that is their choice if they are an adult

I agree with Jay, even though he’s a celebrity (still human)!!
Michael Phelps is just a kid, I know I was wild as hell at his age (no drugs) but still wild.

  5. OMG!!! There is nothing wrong with weed! Michael Phelps did nothing wrong! I would be pissed if they caught him smoking cigarettes versus weed, because weed isn’t really that bad!

    WEED AIN’T NEVER KILLED NOBODY!!

Plain and simple, he’s human just like the rest of us.

God I hate the overreacting media!

Of course Camel Joe would defend anybody smoking. He was right though.

Funny, how when I said that, no one cared. He makes half a statement and the world changes their mind.

Real talk….America wasn’t complaining when he was holding us down at the Olympics. Whatever he does in his off season is his business. PPl keep looking for someone to idolize and when that person doesn’t conform, they’re after them with torches and pitchforks. Teach ur kids to look up to YOU and NOT some guy who can swim fast, or throw a football well. Maybe then, you won’t lose your darn minds when these ppl decide to party as hard as they work. Shizit!

Right on Monealicia! When I was a kid my mom told me to look up to Jesus, and when I did that, never went wrong! They treat him like a God, and he and the rest of these celebrities are far from it!

Michael is no different than the people that go to Amsterdam. There is a bar/club there where weed is on the menu. You get your choice of smoking it in a pipe and different flavors of paper. Should you become hungry afterward they have a deli with dessert for your selection. The media hyped Mike. When his halo fell off they turned on him…. Honestly I think we as Americans are hipocrites. We stand in judgement of what we don’t like, but travel to other countries do what we don’t like in the U.S and call it vacation.
