Natalie Cole Released From Hospital

Natalie Cole has been released from the hospital after receiving a kidney transplant.

Natalie Cole was discharged from the hospital on Sunday following her kidney transplant surgery that took place five days earlier.
The Grammy winner, 59, was scheduled to attend a private family memorial service yesterday for her sister Carol “Cookie” Cole, who passed away following a battle with lung cancer the same day Natalie received her life-saving organ transplant.
“Natalie is continuing to do well under the circumstances,” says her rep, according to People.com.
Cole, who had been receiving dialysis three times a week to treat her hepatitis C (now in remission), was holding vigil at her ailing sister’s bedside when she got the call that a donor organ was available.
The artist is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating and will reschedule her summer tour dates in support of her album “Still Unforgettable.”
