Don Cheadle, Cedric The Entertainer, Reggie Miller, Kenny Smith, Marlon Wayans, Montel Williams, Jason Kidd, Mekhi Phifer, Rob Schneider, Andy Bloch, Charles Barkley, Matt Damon and plenty other stars will descend upon the Rio, in Las Vegas this weekend, for an intense fun tournament of poker.  What’s really hot about the entire event, is that the proceeds will provide aid and assistance to the survivors of the crisis in Darfur, Sudan.

Don Cheadle is hosting the third annual Ante Up for Africa, No Limit Texas
Hold-Em
Tournament in association with the World Series of Poker. Proceeds from the event will once again go to charities that provide aid and
assistance to the survivors of the crisis in Darfur, Sudan and support
activism dedicated to resolving this crisis. Previous Ante Up tournaments
have raised more than $2 million for the cause.

Don Cheadle’s Ante Up for Africa charity poker tournament is set for July
2nd at the Rio in Las Vegas and there will plenty of celebs and NBA stars
at the tables. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck join Don Cheadle and Annie Duke
for their charity tournament at the the WSOP. Other confirmed stars include
Brad Garrett, Cedric The Entertainer, Charles Barkley, Danny Masterson,
Hank Azaria, Herschel Walker, Jason Alexander, Kenny Smith, Marlon Wayans, Montel Williams, Reggie Miller, Tia Carrere, Sarah Silverman, Jason Kidd,
Shawn Marion, Cheryl Hines, Mekhi Phifer, Rob Schneider, Howard Lederer,
Andy Bloch, Tiffany Michelle, Erik Seidel and Phil Hellmuth will all be
playing Texas Hold Em for a good cause.

Through efforts like Ante Up For Africa, we can continue to keep the issue
in the spotlight while providing real funds to support a brighter future
for the people of Sudan. You can get more information about this cause from
The Enough Project.

It’s always a GOOD thing to see celebrities exhibiting altruism.  The Darfur crisis is something that gets absolutely no attention in the media anymore.  So Kudos to Don Cheadle and the rest of the celebrities that have the balls to make a difference and shine some light back on the genocide taking place.

Folks are missing the point. Sure, the brother is looking well, but the real point is the brother has put together a fundraiser for the people of darfur.

Who else is trying to help people in dire straits in the motherland.

    Much respect Don.
