Quincy Jones didn’t just have just one white wife–ALL of his wives were white–no African-Americans, no Asians–just white. It is always amazing to me that African-American men like Quincy Jones always claim “they don’t see color”–but all they seem to deal with are white women–not Japenese women, African women, Indian women, etc. Some of Quincy Jones kids are as “white” as Michael’s adopted kids so I really don’t understand WHY HE’S SOUNDING OFF ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON. HE’S OLD NOW and now appears in public with some women of color – GO FIGURE.

I’ve always felt that Michael was influenced by the self-loathing and color-struct African-American community of entertainers he ran into at an early age–they influenced his mind-set–they set the example for him. Now they want to talk “mess” about him now that he’s dead.

I don’t think Jones’ was being disrespectful; he was just being truthful. If Jackson had vitiligo, I could see lightening his skin so that he didn’t look blotchy. I think he took it too far, though. I mean, the guy was pastey white, almost like a ghost.

But it is true that his kids are white. I can’t comment on that. Maybe Jackson just thought that caucasian features were preferable. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder, after all.

As for the drugs, Jones isn’t the first person to confirm it. Many people get hooked on prescription drugs, starting with pain killers following an accident of some kind. Pain killers are downers; MJ had a very high energy act. He would have had to take uppers to counteract the effects of the downers. That’s a lethal combination. Same thing, pretty much, that Elvis Presley died of.

Take Jackson’s apparent anorexia, which weakens the heart, among other things, add the pills, the high energy demands of his work, his anxiety and penchant for perfectionism, and you have a recipe for death.

Virgos are generally very fussy, very perfectionistic, in just about everything they do, in what they look like, in what they eat, in what they wear, etc. They can also be hypocondriacs, which I suspect was also true of MJ. The need to take pills to keep the weight down in order to do the dance moves, the need to take a pill for every ache and pain – all of this is pretty familiar territory for many, if not most, Virgos at some point in their lives.

None of this negates MJ’s talent, or his heart. No one is merely the sum of their faults or their good points. Most people are a combination, if not a contradiction, of both. I suspect MJ was perhaps more normal than he realized, in that respect.

That being said, I’m kind of hoping that at some point in his memorial service, he will rise from his coffin and this would all have been a whopper of a publicity stunt. I’m not going to hold my breath, but it would be a publicity stunt to end all publicity stunts, and one that even I could forgive and applaud him for.

I bet most of his fans would, too. My guess is that most people would rather he be alive, than dead.

But I get Jones’ decision not to attend the memorial service. It will be a circus, I’m sure, and some people are too private, or would rather remember someone as they knew them when they were alive, in some private moment together. Going to a funeral or a memorial service isn’t the only way to pay one’s respects.

At any rate, on the probable chance that this isn’t a publicity stunt, I wish MJ Godspeed. I hope that he has found his peace, at last.

Yes, Micheal was out there but he made history and the music he created is only reduplicated by every artist.

The man is a legend weather we like it or not and has changed music forever.

So what he changed his skin. Have some respect for the dead is all I am saying. Talk about the man in his face,if you say you were a personal and “close” friend who knew him…. I too don’t give a damn what he did in his personal life. There are strange people in every walk of life. You may be considered strange by your neighbors, does not mean you are strange to everybody. I may talk about celebrities when they are alive, but the dead I leave alone.
