Question of The Day??

Posted by Media Outrage on August 18th, 2009

Church1

Our question of the day is as follows:

If you met someone that you really liked and felt they possessed most of the qaulities that you wanted in a significant other BUT had a different RELIGIOUS belief than you practiced, would you still get involved in a SERIOUS relationship with that person?  Would you even marry that person?  Let us know…..

My husband is Muslim and I am Christian. We have been married for 7.5 years. He respects my religion and I respect his. He goes to church with me sometimes and I go to the mosque with him sometimes. How we look at it is that at the end of the day we are serving ONE GOD.

As long as their belief is still God. I don’t have a problem with dating them. Now if their belief does not include God at all as the father. and there is nothing I can say to make them believe otherwise then we don’t have a damn thing to talk about.

    @ MO typo–> qaulities =qualities.

“As my pastor would say ‘they are unequally yolked’…but seriously most religions are based on the concept of a GOD…hence union would be possible, although quite difficult…

For me religion is MAN MADE and i won’t commit to any partticular one… I say I’M SPIRITUAL, i believe in the concept of a spirit and whether it’s Mother Nature, Serendipity, God or whatever it’s all good…

Mo the bigger question should be:

    * Could you be in a relationship with a person who doesn’t believe in God/Atheist.

    * Could you be in a relationship with a person who is ANTI-GOD.

P.S. there is a difference in questions.

Atheism:- can be either the rejection of theism,[1] or the position that deities do not exist.[2] In the broadest sense, it is the absence of belief in the existence of deities.[3]

Anti-God :- the opposite of God without being the Devil makes; basically can’t stand hearing the mention of GOD.

Atheist believe God doesn’t exist; Anti-God acknowledges the concept of God but is against, without been eveil, more like neutral.

Please Answer Questions MO PEEPS, thanks!

@ Ms.Behave…. My question for you is explain to me why you say “religion is man made”? And are you saying then man came up with the whole concept of a higher being? We know man wrote the bible. Also I have a friend who is an Atheist. He knows the bible back and forward but does not believe in it. Nor does he believe in God. He is now married to a woman who does. He does not attend church. I find myself debating him on how he could once believe and now he does not. Also I have asked her how do they get alone, with his strong dislike for God. I often wonder is something that happens in a persons life for them to stop believing?

I also know science has a disagreement with some of the teachings of the bible, but purely from a scientific perspective.

My cousin came back from Iraq after his first tour and it hurt my heart to hear him say he no longer believed in God. He could not understand the if there was a God how could so many innocent people suffer and die, who did not deserve it. He saw so much death he said it made him question whats real and whats not. So he feels left on a fence about how he feels…..

I think a couple with different religious preferences can be healthy and work….they’ll both eventually find that they are praying to the same common GOD, being, etc….

@ Ms.Behave…religion is MAN MADE…I feel you, I’ve toiled with that notion my whole life….it’s like a huge puzzle and I have not managed to piece it together….I’m one that feels each individual should be entitled to find GOD for themselves….nothing’s wrong with questioning things!

The amazing thing is that you can find the story of the Bible carved on some of the tombs and ruins in Ancient Kemet(Egypt), thousands of years before the introduction of Christianity…I beleive religion, in one form or another, is a control mechanism for the powers that be…it’s printed on the “Almighty Dollar” and besides that, could you imagine if the Gov’t announced that there was No GOD tomorrow…the World would be pure chaos…Morality would be obselete.

Why did King James revise, alter, misplace, or purposely remove chapters from the Bible?..this is clearly his version….What happened to the “Keys of Enoch(the Elohim)” or the “Book of Yahweh(Yahshua)”???

  12. Yvonne Says:

It depends on what type of religion he’s in. I am not in any organized religion but I do believe in a Higher Power.

As long as he can accept that and his religion does not require me to join his, then I would have a serious relationship with him which could possibly lead to marriage.

@ YISI….I’m just like you. All my life I questioned things I didn’t understand. The more I kept reading, the more questions I had….I don’t beleive everthing I read, but my philosphy is to read everything and use my mind, soul, conscious, and heart to guide me towards the truth

I also research the Bible and all different aspects of ancient civilizations. Not that I’m on some space type stuff, but I keep my mind open to all possibilities. Many scholars and researchers beleive that the Keys of Enoch were removed from the Bible(reference the Dead Sea Scrolls)…Enoch is recorded to be the father of Methusela and great-grandfather of NOAH. Enoch was said to be taken up with GOD and was showed the “keys of higher knowledge”……Enoch is said to be linked with building the Great Pyramid complex(I don’t care what nobody says, someone possessed higher knowledge when they built the Pyramids…we can’t replicate them today with our technology)…Enoch was known as THOTH to the Egyptians and HERMES(messenger of the Gods) to the Greeks…..Look up the Elohim(sometimes spelled Eloheem) on the Net if you get a chance…

Basically I’m amazed at how the ancients constructed the pyramids with millions of multi-ton blocks, how they mapped the earth without planes, how they had such an intimate understanding of the constellations without telescopes, thousands of years ago???…..Where did this kowledge go?….The Great Pyramid was built “directly at/on the Center of the Earth”…the Pyramids were not Tombs…this is fact

Give me your thoughts and feedback YISI, I learn somthing new everytime I build with a person on this subject and life in general too.

  23. Yeah I Said It Says:

@ ALLISWELLS, In my search this is what i found out on Enoch, but it is called the secret book of Enoch or Slavonic Enoch or 2 Enoch. And you are right there is a reference to him being the father of (Methuselah). when he was 165 yrs old. Here is an excerpt of what he had to say about what the angels showed him as he looked down from heaven as told to his sons

to pass, when Enoch had told his sons, that the angels took him on to their wings and bore him up on to the first heaven and placed him on the clouds. And there I looked, and again I looked higher, and saw the ether, and they placed me on the first heaven and showed me a very great Sea, greater than the earthly sea.

    Chapter 4, IV
1 They brought before my face the elders and rulers of the stellar orders, and showed me two hundred angels, who rule the stars and (their) services to the heavens, and fly with their wings and come round all those who sail.

    Chapter 5, V
1 And here I looked down and saw the treasure-houses of the snow, and the angels who keep their terrible store-houses, and the clouds whence they come out and into which they go.

    Chapter 6, VI
1 They showed me the treasure-house of the dew, like oil of the olive, and the appearance of its form, as of all the flowers of the earth; further many angels guarding the treasure-houses of these (things), and how they are made to shut and open.

    Chapter 7, VII
1 And those men took me and led me up on to the second heaven, and showed me darkness, greater than earthly darkness, and there I saw prisoners hanging, watched, awaiting the great and boundless judgment, and these angels (spirits) were dark-looking, more than earthly darkness, and incessantly making weeping through all hours.

2 And I said to the men who were with me: Wherefore are these incessantly tortured? They answered me: These are God’s apostates, who obeyed not God’s commands, but took counsel with their own will, and turned away with their prince, who also (is) fastened on the fifth heaven.

3 And I felt great pity for them, and they saluted me, and said to me: Man of God, pray for us to the Lord; and I answered to them: Who am I, a mortal man, that I should pray for angels (spirits)? Who knows whither I go, or what will befall me? Or who will pray for me?

    Chapter 8, VIII
1 And those men took me thence, and led me up on to the third heaven, and placed me there; and I looked downwards, and saw the produce of these places, such as has never been known for goodness.

2 And I saw all the sweet-flowering trees and beheld their fruits, which were sweet-smelling, and all the foods borne (by them) bubbling with fragrant exhalation.

3 And in the midst of the trees that of life, in that place whereon the Lord rests, when he goes up into paradise; and this tree is of ineffable goodness and fragrance, and adorned more than every existing thing; and on all sides (it is) in form gold-looking and vermilion and fire-like and covers all, and it has produce from all fruits.

4 Its root is in the garden at the earth’s end.

5 And paradise is between corruptibility and incorruptibility.

You gotta love that. I would marry that person as well. Like they say, it is only one GOD anyway. I dig it.

@ ALLISWELL, I am in wonderment of how it came to mind of those before Christ to build period. If I think to much it will cause me to question my belief and that’s something I don’t want to put in jeopardy.

Like you I have a lot of questions. I also read what really happen to Adam and Eve when they first left the garden. Things I find hard to believe is Eve knowing there was only herself and Adam, why not question where Satan came from in human form after they were thrown out of the garden? Yet she believe him once again.

MARK LEHNER, Archaeologist, Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago, and Harvard Semitic Museum had this to say: In your extensive work and research at Giza have you ever once questioned whether humans built the pyramids?

His answer:No. But have I ever questioned whether they had divine or super intelligent inspiration?

Religion is a real touchy subject with me because I have always looked at things in life and tried to figure out exactly what’s going on with it because the more I live the more I realize a point where everything in life is more than what’s is on the Surface and at this point religion is on deck for me to decipher. Now I grew up going to church, been baptized and saved and the whole 9. But there have been a great many discrepancies that have been given to us and religion is one that has the most. It is one of the most confusing things in the world and it keeps us guessing, it keeps many of us docile and subservient. We blindly give a percentage of our earnings to men who are more flawed than we are we go to war over it and in some cases have been trained to do things without asking……why…….because we are told that we must have faith. I’m not throwing religion out of the window, I still pray and I still got to church…Lol. But maybe…..just maybe, it is man made and used as a tool to control the sheep for the “committee of 300″

When you start to dig into the Different Gods the different religions worship, they all have the same characteristics. Birthdays, 12 disciples or siblings, born to virgins, rose from the dead etc, etc. Why war fight and separate if you worshiping the same God???? To bring dissention and separatism to the world. If ALL people came together then the Committee would have power but as long as we fight and stay separated them we are to busy fighting to see what is really going on at the top. I’m not saying that Religion is definitely man made but the way it is given to us it is a good tool in controlling the people.

Or maybe the Evil people are taking advantage of us religious people because it causes us to “sit on our hands” and take all kinds of bullshit and abuse because we are scared to retaliate with the same type of vicious immoral tactics and Ideas that Evil people do for fear that we will not be blessed and reap the benefits that are told come after we die.

Don’t get me wrong, I will see yall at church this Sunday, but I’m still trying to get to the bottom of this religion thing. Dats Really Doe!!!!

However, you can rarely change any woman’s views on anything so I wouldn’t even try it. This can get real complicated

@2020 the only problem I have is with paying my tithes, i don’t mind paying them i just want to pay them where I think they belong and to those less fortunate. The church is suppose to be God’s house where all is welcome especially those in need.

I asked a pastor once does it matter where I apply my tithes as long as it goes to Gods people? He did not answer and said he would talk to me about it. He never did. I don’t have a problem with Pastors having a salary. I do have a problem with him living better than the people he serves in Gods house.

I put Gods house very hight on a pedestal and respect those that say they have been called to preach his word, however I lose faith in that church when I see the pastor with a Mercedes, his wife with a Lexus, and the family car is a Mercedes and the church starts having a pastors love day and find out his home is 5000 sq ft.

At the same time there are members that need help with food, bills, and some don’t have a place to stay. So most of the time I give my tithes to the homeless and those that i know need help and pray to God to ask if I do better serving him this way…..

  32. 2020VIZN Says:

YISI, I was gonna say the same thing about how some of these people are living lavishly, but I chose to hold off on that because Its not the money that its the love of money thats evil. But that preacher is the perfect example of a reason why doubt these bastards. The first thing he should have said is No sista it does not matter wher you pay your tithes because when you give you are giving to the spirit of the Lord, but all he could think of was his “dogone percectage” Ole Dollar Bill as preacher. I know we all fall short of the Glory (so I was told) but that Pastor is far worse than me because even if I did want your money, I would not have wanted it bad enough to kill my credibility as a man of the cloth. The sad thing is the fact that he was so blinded by the dollar that he didnt even realize that had he said that it did not matter where you tithed it was up to you as long as you were giving from your heart, then you would have been more inclined to give your 10% to his greedy ass. I dont know YISI, I find more evil, ill will, ill feelings, back talk, blastphemy, adultry, greed, judgement, deception, materialism and lies in some churches. I have been to churches that I could feel negative vibes in the atmosphere as soon as a I walked in. Im not looking for perfect people in the church, I want to find more good people in the house of the Lord. Realy Doe!!!

one of the fundamentals of religion is the Value of LIFE…since life was ‘given’ it should only be ‘taken’ by the ‘giver’ and not ‘receiver’…it is idiotically to believe that ur life is more valuable and that u have the POWER/RIGHT to take another…

u say ‘allah’ told them…are u sure? weren’t they ‘taught’ to believe that?…how do u know it was ‘allah’ and not their ‘collective beliefs’…what about their ‘conscience’?…don’t ALL God/Allah fearing people have that?…

I can’t be with someone that believes in ‘killing’…i can’t be with someone who is ‘religiously closeminded’…seriously, are u going to take everything your pastor say as gospel? no questions? not one?…

@ Ms.Behave….I never knew you fell out-of-love with me….lol I’m not married yet, but I do have a fiance(signing my life over & jumping the broom in 2010…lol). We met in College and have a 5-year old daughter together…How about you?…Since You & I share some of the same views, then I can bet that we are both “misunderstood” by others sometimes.

@ YISI….I appreciate your feedback & open-mindedness. I will definitely utilize the links above and research…I didn’t know that many verses chronicled Enoch…learn something new everyday!…As for the question: Where did the many people come from who built the pyramid?….I’m puzzled, there are so many possibilities…Some refer to Enoch’s higher knowledge, which manipulated sound/harmonics to basically move large objects. The precision of the pyramids is amazing(the 3 pyramids at Giza align perfectly with the stars)…Check out the Pyramids at Cydonia(Mars)

Not to be directly associated with the pyramids, but some beleive that the The Nephilim may have been able to construct such massive buildings: The Nephilim were an antediluvian race (pre-flood) race which are referred to in the Bible as giants. They were reportedly the children born from the “daughters of men” and the “Sons of God”…..See Genesis verse below..

    Genesis 6:1-7
1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 5 The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them.”

    After the great flood:

    Numbers 13:30-33
30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

Overall, I feel that a higher intelligence once existed, and is lost today.

I respect everybody’s comments above….Seems like this is a life long journey, but before I leave this earth, I hope GOD(most high) knows that I sought for him in this life!

    Peace
