Kanye Finally Calls Taylor Swift And Apologizes
Posted by Media Outrage on September 16th, 2009
Kanye West finally came to his senses and did the right thing by calling 19 year old Taylor Swift and apologizing personally instead of doing it through the media.
Via Contact Music:
Rapper Kanye West has personally apologised to Taylor Swift for his stage invasion and outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (13.08.09).
Kanye West has personally apologised for his outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The rapper has finally said sorry to 19-year-old pop singer Taylor Swift – who was awarded the prize for the Best Female Video on Sunday (13.08.09) – after he ran onto the stage during her acceptance speech, snatched her microphone and told the star-studded audience he thought Beyonce Knowles deserved to win.
Taylor revealed: “Kanye did call me, and he was very sincere in his apology, and I accepted that apology.”
His gesture came after the ‘Love Story’ singer appeared on US chat show The View yesterday (15.09.09) and admitted she hadn’t heard from Kanye.
She said: “He has not personally reached out or anything, but if he wanted to say hi… My overall thought process went something like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe I won. This is awesome. Don’t trip and fall. I’m going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool. Oh, Kanye West is here! Cool haircut! What are you doing there?’ And then, ‘Ouch!’ And then, ‘I guess I’m not going to thank the fans.’ ”
The teenage starlet also admitted she was shocked by the support given to her by some of the industry’s biggest names, including Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Pink, who all criticised the rapper’s behaviour on Twitter.
She said: “I just never imagined that there were that many people out there looking out for me, so it was really wonderful to see that people were out there defending me so I didn’t have to.”
Meanwhile, Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles has revealed he is proud with how his daughter dealt with the incident.
When she won the Video of the Year prize for ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’, the 28-year-old singer invited Taylor on stage to finish the speech Kanye cut short.
Mathew – who is also Beyonce’s manager – said: “It wasn’t my decision to bring Taylor out. It was all Beyonce’s idea.
“I can only say it was a proud night for me as a manager, but more importantly as a father.
“I’ve always said the thing that makes me most proud about Beyonce is not how many records she sold or how many awards she has; it’s that she’s a genuine good person.”
Mediaoutrage- Good job Kanye, now fall back for a minute and do some self analyzing.

OK. A couple of things…..
-As of yesterday, I lost 90% respect for Kanye West. He’s just…dumb. (I’m trying not to cuss)
-Twitter really needs to DIE. I’m sick of all these idiots (NOT MO STAFF OR LOYAL CONTRIBUTORS) doing this senseless blogging about something which either a)doesn’t concern them b)is a publicity stunt c)is NOT relevant d)has something to do with “fashion”–skinny jeans or other gay looking ass shit (I tried, dammit)
-Who gives a dead moose’s last fuck about what Matt K. gotta say about this?!?!?
-Dunno much about Swifty, but God bless her heart for acting with poise after D-Bag McGee upstaged her to Halifax!

My perception, Kayne was acting out and was drunk since his mother passing. Kayne is still very hurt, anger and directing that anger at the wrong people. It is good he is going to regroup for awhile and get his head to gether. I like his music and my daughter loves him. SO get it together Kayne and forgiveness is for all. I hope he finds himself and finds solance in his mother’s passing.

I respect his opinion, but I don’t respect how he voiced his opinion. There’s a time n place 4 everything! Plus he was escorted like a kid disrupting class out of the VMA’s. Lmao

@ Random: I think you are over esimating her STAR power. Her rays of light had not reached the urban community yet. He did indeed make her a bigger star because now all of the people that knew Kanye and not her now know who she is, and in all fairness, all of the country music lovers who knew her and not him know who he is. So its an even swap in my opinion.

He should’ve apologized, but I agree with Unkle Death.
Why does a celebrity’s opinion matter SO much? Right is right and wrong is wrong at the end of the day regardless of how Pink or Katy Perry feel about it. It’s just a way for them to get in on the press that she & Kanye got. Stay out of it and do your jobs. You’re singers, not ambassadors.

Kanye can keep on apologizing, because this is something that will always follow him.If he is so sorry he would have never taken his ass on that stage.Since jayz thinks everybody is blowing it out of portion,I wonder what he would have said if had did that to 50 cent or another rapper and got his ass beat.
