Kansas City Chiefs Running Back Larry Johnson Apologizes For Using Gay Slur

Jay-Z’s boy Larry Johnson is feeling the heat after using a gay slur.
Via Eurweb:
Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has apologized for using a gay slur to describe a Twitter follower and members of the press on Monday, and the team has punished the athlete by keeping him off the practice field.
Johnson wrote:
First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday.
I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate. I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said.
I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them. I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate, and member of the Kansas City chiefs team and community.
The Chiefs have “instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities” while they conduct an internal investigation.
Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, says he hopes the whole episode will be used as an example to other players in the NFL.
Barrios told TMZ:
Larry Johnson’s apology sends an important message that there is no excuse for using anti-gay epithets.
GLAAD is continuing to call on the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs to use this unfortunate incident as a way to educate and start a dialogue with players and fans regarding the dangers of homophobia in sports.”
And what did he say specifically? Here’s what Advocate.com wrote:
“Johnson, who has a history of assault charges, sparked an outcry with his utterance of antigay slurs on Sunday and Monday after his team lost to the San Diego Chargers.
In the first instance, he called a Twitter follower’s profile picture a ‘fag pic,’ and called the person a ‘Christopher street boy,’ the Kansas City Star reported.
On Monday, Johnson again used an antigay slur in a request for reporters to leave the locker room. Then Johnson turned away and whispered, ‘Get your faggot ass out of here,’ the Kansas City Star reported.”
Speaking of the Star, Johnson’s father told the news outlet that he was hurt by his son’s use of gay slurs.
“That’s just not who we are and not what we believe,” Larry Johnson Sr. told the newspaper. “It’s not how he was raised. It’s tough for me as a father.”

WTF? If that the case then MO needs to apologize for those Cock smoking comments from the other day, on the racism post. I dont see why or when GLADD or PETA gained so much power. Mike Vick lost MILLIONS for fighting dogs and Hiliary Duff is telling me i cant say fag. Well i guess i need to move to England so I can buy a pack of fags (cigarettes)and fight dogs.

GLAAD has nothing to do with it..it’s all about the sponsors, he doesn’t want to lose them….it’s all about the money. If GLAAD only knew the type of language that was used during practice and in the locker room ? AH !

@Lio- that’s true. It’s their N-word, they can say it but we’d better be ready for all hell to break loose. Crazy how that double standard works…
