Nas Seeks To Block Kelis’ Support Payments

Nas has put his lawyer to work in an attempt to block the $72,728 monthly support payments due to Kelis.

Despite making public appearances together in the past month, Queens rapper Nas’ divorce from his estranged wife R&B singer Kelis continues on.
According to TMZ.com, Nas lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan filed court papers today (November 2), seeking to block Kelis’ request for $72,728 a month in spousal support.
Nas had been ordered to pay Kelis $44,000 in child support payments in addition to a one-time payment of $45,000 to pay Rogers’ attorney fees and for a forensic accountant.
In August, Kelis’ attorney Laura Wasser filed a motion seeking to increase amount to $72,728 in income based on the $240,000 the rapper earns per-month.
She also seeks $17,225 a month in child support, $72,728 in spousal support, $29,522 in back child support and finally, retro spousal support in the amount of $281,571.
Kelis gave birth to their Knight in July of 2009. After six years of marriage, she filed for divorce from Nas in April, citing irreconcilable differences.
In September, the pair were seen together at New York hotspot Marquee and other events, sparking rumors that the reconciliation might be possible.
In October, the IRS filed a lien against Nas, because the rapper owes $2,584,206.31 to the government for unpaid taxes on income earned throughout 2006 and 2007.

The way of America….fuck the dads and give everything to the momz to pay their shit. I don’t believe in child support and yes I am a woman. Momz and the system abuse the shit out of men. If they don’t want to pay go get yours fuck beggin for some money!!!! YISI, that is what you are doing: beggin at the court house. Get up off your ass get a good job go to school and provide for yours or hustle or get a legal hustle whatever to provide. When he/she gets older, child will know the deal and the father has to deal with his no good self for not providing. 1st of all choose a man that will be a provider to start with than we would not have these fuckin problems in the system. Woman are stupid and dumb when it comes to some dick I swear!!!!!!! Kelis should be a shame of herself and other out their exploiting man for their own gratification and not for the child. SAD!

Well, I believe in Child Support, it took two to create, so TWO to Support. However, the Nas/Kelis situation is different, she ISN’T providing for the child- Nas has to bear ALL, even though he doesn’t have full custody, this is extremely excessive and i hate the Judiciary System for allowing men to be raped by women, just hate it.

He should’ve spoke up soon as the judge ruled that silly ass petition.. I would’ve been in court everyday until something reasonable was reached. I would’ve been camped outside the courthouse waiting on any judge to show up..

Kelis has a big problem.. She shouldn’t have made NYC her place of residence….because their previous junction was held in Cali.. And Cali has a 50/50 law. And has different child support laws.. In Nyc you will get less for child support, and damn near nothing for spousal support.. Nas’ lawyers are getting smart.. They need to get smarter and get home boy outta the Tax lien because Uncle Sam is no joke

Damn Kelis! Get a fucking job and take care of your baby. Funny (yet not so funny) that I can be a 34 year old single mother who gets NO child support (not by choice) to a 14 year old and still live life. And this bitch is crying she wants THOUSANDS for a damn baby? What ever happened to being and independant woman?

It’s very unreasonable- a baby maybe expensive, but not that dayum expensive. She spending that loot on her and her lifestyle. The baby needs clothes, food and shelter and you can get that wayyy cheaper than what she’s getting from this man. That judge needs their azz whipped for allowing that to go down. If she wants to continue the lifestyle of the rich and famous get her azz in a recording booth try to put out something the masses would want to hear. I can’t believe anyone feel this is a reasonable amount..
