Patti Labelle played her part at the BET Awards when she did sang her tribute to Prince. Patti’s definitely one of the greatest to ever do this. For those who saw her performance, how would you rate it??

She did NOT do his song justice. I though she may have forgotten the words first, then when she kicked off her shoes, and started with the scream fest i knew it was no longer about prince but about her.
I was not impressed.

Treys performance was pooey. But i enjoyed PATTY very much shes in her 60s 70s and still on stage in stalletos sanging 100 times better than the majority of todays artist period, male or female. I give her a 10! :^)

I liked it cause it was Patti. That’s how she gets down. But she could have done better. I mean it was ‘Purple Rain’ for crying out loud! Trey had already fucked up so I just knew somebody was gone do better. Guess not.
Alicia Keys is indeed the only one who did the tribute justice.

Patti did her thing!!! I wanted an encore. Prince was right to scoop up her shoe. Those are some hard shoes to fill.

The whole Prince tribute was, as that ninja DT would say, the square root of a$$. I enjoyed the antics of Patti kickin her shoes off and making the song feel more like one of her own, but without a performer that could mimic a Prince performance (Guitar Included) makes what they did a little pointless.

Patti kicking off her shoes is what makes Patti, Patti. I loved her performance. And Prince knew what he was getting when he selected those artists 2 tribute him.
