Our recommended reading suggestion comes courtesy of John H. Johnson’s inspirational auto-biography Succeeding Against The Odds. John H. Johnson is the legendary visionary that founded the EBONY & JET magazine empire.
We’ve had the pleasure of reading this book a good 7 times and it is the bomb. Very inspiratioal. He details all of the roadblocks he encountered during the Jim Crow era while trying to build an editorial empire. What you will leave with after completing this read is a bold confidence in the power of persistence, vigor, hunger for success and vision.
