If there’s an injustice anywhere taking place within the African-American diaspora, Rev. Al’s the man to get all in ya shyte and shine light on the foul behavior at hand.  Despite the fact that he might be a dead wringer for Bookman From GoodTimes he’s still the most effective voice we have in America at combating racism and inequality.  Does he get the props he really deserves??

Rush Limbaugh is at it again with his controversial rhetoric.  He had some out-of-pocket things to say about Yankees owner George Steinbrenner who passed the other day.  Peep game…

*Al Sharpton has released a statement condemning radio host Rush Limbaugh for his comments about the late New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner.

On Rush’s radio show Tuesday, the conservative host remembered Steinbrenner as the “classic capitalist” by saying: “That cracker made a lot of African-American millionaires. …And at the same time he fired a bunch of white guys.”

The watchdog group MediaMatters pounced on the comments, calling them “race-baiting.”

Sharpton said the remarks were “repugnant and offensive whether they were intended to be facetious or tongue and cheek.”

“The statements made by Rush Limbaugh about George Steinbrenner were repugnant and offensive whether they were intended to be facetious or tongue and cheek. The fact that he could make these comments less than 24-hours after Mr. Steinbrenner’s death makes it even more offensive.

For the last 20-years I have known George Steinbrenner and we have quarreled over diversity and community programs but I always found him fair, direct, and genuinely prone to do what he felt was right. He generated a lot of money for a lot of players as well as for baseball as a whole and should not be disparaged in any matter.

In later years, in a twist of irony, his granddaughter and my daughter became close, which only brought me closer to knowing him, and we developed a mutual respect. Mr. Limbaugh and his broadcasters owe his family an apology that the first day of their mourning to have to be subjected to this type of rhetoric.

To think that just a year ago Mr. Limbaugh sought to be an owner of an NFL team and has now said this about a legendary baseball team owner. This says more about Mr. Limbaugh than it does Mr. Steinbrenner.”

Damn sh*t is real in the field.  Dominque Sharpton’s boyfriend socked her in the mouth and threw her out of the car while they were breaking up:

The boyfriend of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s daughter was charged yesterday with misdemeanor assault for socking her in the mouth during an argument in Harlem, police sources said.

Latrelle Peeks, 23, allegedly punched Dominique Sharpton in the mouth Tuesday during an argument on W. 145th St.

Police sources said Peeks – who is 6-feet-7 and weighs 250 pounds – hit Sharpton, also 23, and also threw her out of a car while they were breaking up, sources said.

Dominique Sharpton reported the incident to police and was treated at Harlem Hospital for a cut inside her lip.

Yesterday, she told police she did not want Peeks arrested, but the NYPD’s policy is to charge domestic violence offenders even if the victim doesn’t cooperate.

Peeks’ mother, Jewel Gomez, defended her son, saying: “He said he did not hit her. They had a scuffle and one thing led to another. … I’m sure that if she had not been Sharpton’s daughter, this would had been a private matter.”

Dominique Sharpton and her mother, Kathy Jordan, go on trial next month for allegedly resisting arrest last October.
