Dwyane Wade dropped 41 points and Bron dropped 28. Wade had 26 by halftime and could not be stopped! The HEAT are now awaiting the winner out of the Celtics Sixers series which will be decided Saturday in Boston.

Forbes has released its annual list of the world’s 100 “Most Powerful Celebrities”. You already know there are plenty of familiar names on this list.

It used to be enough for a celebrity to act or sing or swing a bat really well. Now to be considered a real success, he or she needs to sell clothes, hawk fragrances–maybe even invest in technology startups.

While she hasn’t stormed Silicon Valley just yet, Jennifer Lopezis a state-of-the-art celebrity success story. With $52 million in earnings over the last 12 months and a massive amount of fame, Lopez lands at No. 1 on our Celebrity 100 list for the first time.

A few years ago it looked like Lopez was done. Her albums, like the all-Spanish Como Ama una Mujer, failed to find the broad audience she once enjoyed. Her movies, like El Cantante, flopped.

Then in 2010 the singer landed a judge’s chair on American Idol. The job gave her a platform to promote her music and turn her image around. It didn’t hurt that she also split from her husband, Marc Anthony. Suddenly a single mother, Lopez lapped up the media attention and scored lucrative endorsement deals with companies like L’Oreal and Gillette. She now has a line of clothing at Kohl’s, a top-selling fragrance and she was able to secure a nice bump—to $20 million–on herIdol salary for a second season. With 6.6 million followers on Twitter and 12 million fans on Facebook, she’s also proved a master of social media.

Lopez unseats Lady Gaga, who topped the list last year. The pop star slides to fifth place this time around with $52 million in earnings, down from $90 million last year (Gaga didn’t tour much in the last 12 months). Her new album, Born This Way, was still a smash hit, selling 1 million copies its first week out.

In second place is Oprah Winfrey, whom Gaga unseated for No. 1 last year. Winfrey had a rough 12 months. Her 25-year syndication run ended in May but she still managed to earn more than anyone else on the list ($165 million) thanks to her empire of spin-off shows (Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray) her magazine and her radio deal with Sirius XM. Winfrey doesn’t earn any money from the struggling OWN cable network. The talk-show legend will now turn her full attention to trying to improve things at OWN.

Ranking third: Justin Bieber. Only 18, Bieber is making his second appearance on our list. The star earned $55 million in the past year thanks to touring and record sales, but as he explains in our cover story, Bieber is more than just a pop star. He’s also a budding venture capitalist. Bieber has used his fame and fortune to invest in startup companies likeSpotify, Tinychat and Enflick.

With most of our lists we keep it strictly on the money: earnings or net worth. The Celebrity 100 is a little different. This list–which includes film and television actors, TV personalities, models, athletes, authors, musicians and comedians–is based on money and fame. We define fame as media visibility in print, television, radio and online, plus social media power, which we measure by looking at each celebrity’s presence on Facebook and Twitter. The earnings consist of pretax income between May 1, 2011, and May 1, 2012. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Forbes has been publishing the list annually since 1999.

Crunching all those numbers always ensures we have an interesting slew of new people on the list; this year, Kim and Khloe Kardashian made the cut. Say what you want about the sisters, they know how to stay famous and earn millions. Thanks to the money she earned from her wedding (and the publicity she earned from her divorce just a few months later), Kim ranks seventh with $18 million. Khloe, who now has her own successful spin-off show (Khloe and Lamar), ranks 73rd with $11 million.

Another newcomer: Ashton Kutcher. The actor, who took over the lead onTwo and a Half Men following Charlie Sheen’s very public meltdown, is now one of the highest-paid men on television. (Sheen failed to make the list this year.) He’s also a savvy tech investor who managed to get in early on companies like Skype, Spotify and Airbnb, which is now worth a reported $1 billion. Kutcher, who is a Twitter superstar, got plenty of press attention this year for his personal life as well as his professional life. He split from his wife of six years, Demi Moore, last fall. The actor debuts in 51st place with $24 million.

LeBron James took the time to introduce Miami Heat teammate Norris Cole to Jay-Z after last night’s win against the New Jersey Nets at the Prudential Center. He also gave his sweaty headband and sneakers to a young fan.

Former Deadspin contributor Sarah Kogod overheard what she called a “heated conversation” between LeBron James and a Wizards fan last night. She then spoke to the fan, got his take, and tweeted what he had to say, which included a threat from LeBron:

…LeBron was waiting alone in the backcourt when fan Bob Moore made a comment to LeBron about Delonte West and LeBron’s mom…

…According to Moore, LeBron said “The only reason you talk shit is because you know I can’t come off the court right now and beat your ass”…

…Also according to Moore, LeBron continued “But if I had a free pass, I’d kick your ass right now.”…

…Moore replied “I’m right here baby. Let’s go” before security stepped in.

LeBron James is having a whole lot of fun at the expense of his hometown fans. He says he won’t rule out a return to play for Cleveland if the fans would have him.

CLEVELAND (AP) — LeBron James says he could picture returning to the place where his NBA journey began. Back in Cleveland.

Imagine that.

After practicing in a gym where he refined his game for seven seasons, James said Thursday he would not rule out a return to the Cavaliers, the team he carried to the brink of a championship before he spurned an entire region by leaving as a free agent for Miami in 2010.

Asked if he could play for the Cavs again, James initially paused before giving his answer.

“I don’t know. I think it would be great,” he said. “It would be fun to play in front of these fans again. I had a lot fun times in my seven years here. You can’t predict the future and hopefully I continue to stay healthy. I’m here as a Miami Heat player, and I’m happy where I am now, but I don’t rule that out in no sense.

“And if I decide to come back, hopefully the fans will accept me.”

James put Cleveland back on the NBA map by taking the Cavs to one finals and winning two MVP awards during his stay. He left the franchise during a summer in which he held an entire city at bay as it awaited his decision. After he announced he was joining the Heat during a nationally televised special, the Akron native was vilified by the same fans who cheered every one of his dribbles and dunks.

Time has healed some of the wounds — not all.

James has made no attempt to patch things up with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, who harshly criticized James in a scathing letter to Cleveland’s fans. Gilbert promised to win a title before James, questioned his character and told The Associated Press he felt James quit on the Cavs during the playoffs.

James said he has no bitterness toward Gilbert. They have not spoken since James met with the Cavaliers on July 3, 2010, when they were one of several teams courting him to sign with them.

“I don’t have any hard feelings. He said what he said and I’ve moved on,” said James, who is under contract with the Heat for two more seasons. “But there’s been no attempt to patch things up.”

James, however, said he can envision being friends again with Gilbert.

“I don’t hold grudges,” he said. “I hold them a little bit, but I don’t hold them that long. He said what he said out of anger and he would probably want to take that back. But I made a mistake, too, and there are some things I would want to take back as well.

“You make mistakes and move on.”

On Friday night, James will play his third game in Cleveland since leaving. The reception won’t be nearly as hostile as it was on Dec. 2 last season toward James, who spent the past two days at his colossal home he has kept in nearby Bath, Ohio.

James expects to be booed, but it won’t be as nasty as before.

“It doesn’t sting anymore,” James said. “The booing isn’t as bad as it was last year so it’s not even a big deal.”

James’ comments about a hypothetical return to Cleveland didn’t surprise teammate Dwyane Wade.

Could Wade imagine James with the Cavs again?

“Anything is possible,” he said. “Hopefully, I’m retired.”

Oklahoma City Thunder Kendrick Perkins could care less for LeBron and here’s why:

OAKLAND, Calif. – Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins has seen the replays of Blake Griffin dunking on him. He’s also read all the Twitter buzz about what is being called one of the greatest slams in NBA history.

But if Griffin challenges him again, Perkins doesn’t plan to run for cover.

“If I was in the same position, in the same rotation, I’m going to jump again and again and again,” Perkins told Yahoo! Sports. “I don’t care. A lot of people are afraid of humiliation or don’t know how to handle embarrassment or would even get embarrassed. I don’t care.

“I’m the same Perk you’re going to see. I’m still going to sign autographs the same way. I ain’t going to change. The people that move out the way and stuff are the people who have insecurity problems.

“That’s my job. How will my teammates look at me if next time I just back out the way and just let him dunk when I’m supposed to be defensive-minded, a shot-blocker? That would be a coward move on me. He’d just have to dunk on me again.”

Perkins respected Griffin for not making a spectacle of the dunk afterward or gloating about it. But he wasn’t too appreciative of LeBron James tweeting praise to Griffin.

Several NBA players commented about the dunk on Twitter and in media interviews, but the only one that bothered Perkins was James.

Shortly after the dunk, James tweeted, “Dunk of the Year! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!!! Wow! I guess I’m No. 2 now. Move over #6.” James was referring to his alley-oop dunk he threw down after jumping over Chicago Bulls guard John Lucas III a day earlier.

“You don’t see Kobe [Bryant] tweeting,” Perkins said. “You don’t see Michael Jordan tweeting. If you’re an elite player, plays like that don’t excite you. At the end of the day, the guys who are playing for the right reasons who are trying to win championships are not worrying about one play.

“They also are not tweeting about themselves talking about going down to No. 2. I just feel [James] is always looking for attention and he wants the world to like him.”

Even Perkins admits Griffin’s dunk was “nice; a nice finish.” He also remembers the advice his former Boston Celtics teammate,Kevin Garnett, once gave him: To be an effective post defender, you have to risk getting dunked on.

“It’s part of the game,” Perkins said. “If you are a shot-blocker, you don’t pick and choose when you are going to jump with somebody or when you are going to rotate.

“You’re not going to lose no friends about it. You might get talked about. But who cares at the end of the day.”

Thunder coach Scott Brooks was playing for the Houston Rockets when Phoenix Suns guard Kevin Johnson threw down his famous dunk over Rockets center Hakeem Olajuwon. Brooks loved that Olajuwon was never afraid to challenge a shot – and he sees some of the same qualities in Perkins.

“There are sorry defenders, the guys that don’t want to defend or the guys that run away because they don’t want to put themselves in position like that,” Brooks said. “Perk is not going to run. If it happens again, hopefully it will be a different result. But he is going to put himself in that position again.

“That’s what he is about.”

Mike Brown shared his opinions on the differences between the two superstars he’s had the opportunity of coaching in LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

Here’s what he had to say regarding both players

“LeBron [James] is a guy who is still learning and still growing, and the reality of it is that being down there with Dwyane Wade has helped him,” Brown said. “They’re different personalities. LeBron, he’s a guy who likes to laugh and joke. He knows obviously there’s a time to be serious, but he’s youthful.

“Kobe is not as much. Kobe’s more serious-minded and so on and so forth. But Kobe knows how to have fun in his own way, too.”
