Kobe Bryant and the Lamar Odom-less Lakers were on television during yesterday’s Christmas telecast against the Derrick Rose led Chicago Bulls. Fans were just glad to have the NBA back. Kobe and the Lakers had a nice lead with 1 minute to go but ended up letting Derrick Rose steal the show and air out of Staples Center with last second heroics. Kobe had one more chance to hit the final shot with about 4 seconds but had his attempt blocked by Luol Deng.

Lil Wayne is doing pretty alright in the department of album sales. He broke iTunes records with his new album:

It has been a great week for Lil Wayne, as his new album Tha Carter IV has shattered the record for iTunes downloads.

The “Mrs. Officer” rapper sold 300,000 units in the first four days of release, beating out Kanye West and Jay-Z’s record of 290,000 downloads for Watch the Throne.

And that’s just the beginning- Wayne’s album is near 850,000 copies sold overall, making for the biggest first-week sales numbers since his 2008 release Tha Carter III.

Musicians love lawsuits don’t they? Of course they do!

The lawsuits continued over Lil Wayne’s critically acclaimed albumTha Carter III.

Producer David Kirkwood filed a lawsuit against Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment imprint, as well as Cash Money Records.

The lawsuit, which was filed in New York Southern District Court on Friday (June 3rd), claims Lil Wayne’s label Young Money and Cash Money Records have stiffed him out of over $1.5 million in royalties and production services.

This is at least the third lawsuit over unpaid royalties and production services for Tha Carter III.

In March ,the rapper was sued for $20 million by producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison, who claimed he was never paid for his work on Tha Carter III.

In 2007, producer Bangladesh also sued over Tha Carter III, claiming he was never paid for his work on the album either.

Lil Wayne, who is not mentioned in this particular lawsuit, is currently working on Tha Carter IV, which has a tentative release date of August 29th.
