Natalie Cole Celebrates 60th Birthday

A Night For Cookie

Cookie Johnson was surrounded by her closest friends on Saturday night at the Conga Room at L.A. Live to celebrate her birthday and the launch of her Jeans line.  Magic really knows how to do it up for his beautiful wife.  Everybody and they momma came out to celebrate with Cookie.  Frankie Beverly and Teena Marie performed.  Natalie Cole and Cookie embraced for pictures.  It was definitely a night for couples.  All the old Lakers greats were in the building with their wives.  Plenty of wonderful pics await…. Magic Johnson Turns 50

Magic Johnson, the man who gave us “showtime” with the Los Angeles Lakers, turned 50 years old yesterday on August 14th.  The night before his birthday, he and Cookie hit up the Annual Harold Pump Foundation Gala honoring Bill Russell and himself. 

All the great athletes of our time came out to celebrate with Magic and Bill.  Magic’s best friend and kissing buddy, Isaiah Thomas, Julius Erving, Sugar Ray Leaonard, Robert horry, Jim Brown, James Worthy, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, Cedric, Warrend Moon and Johnny Mathis all descended on Beverly Hills to attend the event.  Good pics when you Read the rest of this entry »

Natalie Cole: I was close to death

Natalie Cole recently did an interview with etonline about her health troubles. She speaks very candidly about

Via etonline:

“I was in denial that I was close to dying until after three to four days of being hospitalized and them putting me on dialysis,” she says. “I had a lot of time to think. The first thing I knew was that I would never work the same way again. … [I'd have] three hours a day, three times a week [in dialysis] that I would just have to sit there and be glad that I have something that is gonna keep me going.”

Already battling Hepatitis C, Natalie reveals that if she didn’t go to the hospital at the urging of close friend Denise Rich, “They would have found me either unconscious or dead. … I think I was on my way out.” Read the rest of this entry »
