*A concert promoter has been ordered by the court to pay  Ne-Yo almost a million dollars stemming from A lawsuit filed earlier this year.

R.Kelly f*#ked my sh#t up royally

Posted by Media Outrage on August 7, 2008

Singer Joe shared some interesting information with Eurweb about the sabotaging of his career which he says was spearheaded by none other than the Pied Piper himself Rrrrrruuuuh.

Via Eurweb:

*He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but R&B artist Joe felt something wasn’t quite right with his situation at Jive Records. So after 11 years on the label and six albums, the singer decided earlier this year to bounce and give the independent route a try.

It wasn’t until after he left the label that Joe says he found out what was behind his perceived stalled progress. He says his own label mate, R. Kelly, put pressure on Jive execs and radio stations to fall back on promoting his records when the singles appeared to be getting too much attention.

“R. Kelly was very instrumental in making a lot of decisions when it came to my records being played on the radio,” Joe told EUR’s Lee Bailey Tuesday. “He would make a call to the radio station or to the label and say, ‘Hey, this Joe record is too hot right now. Yall need to pull that back.’ And they would oblige.” Read the rest of this entry »

R. Kelly witness speaks

Posted by Media Outrage on June 22, 2008

The prosecution’s star witness in the R. Kelly child pornography trial, Lisa Van Allen, who testified against him spoke candidly with Essence about her relationship with Kellz. It’s a long but very juicy read.

Essence.com: What are your feelings about the verdict?

Lisa Van Allen: I’m not surprised. The evidence against him was there, but the case seemed to be going in the defense’s favor. I never thought he would actually go to jail, just based on what I’ve seen happen with celebrities when they get in trouble. I thought he’d get a slap on the wrist, like, “Don’t do it again.” But I at least wanted him to be held responsible for what he had done.

Essence.com: How did you meet R. Kelly?

Van Allen: I met him in Alpharetta, Georgia, at the “Home Alone” video shoot, probably in ’98. I was 17, and he was 31. I was fresh out of high school. My friend’s girlfriend was going to the video shoot, and he didn’t want her to go by herself. I just tagged along with her and ended up being an extra in it.

Essence.com: So how did you go from being an extra to meeting him personally? Read the rest of this entry »

Beat them charges like Rocky

Posted by Media Outrage on June 13, 2008

Well it’s in folk and yall probably already know that R. Kelly is a free man! He got off and was acquitted of all 15 counts against him.

Via AP:

R. Kelly was acquitted of all charges Friday after less than a day of deliberations in his child pornography trial, ending a six-year ordeal for the R&B superstar.

Kelly dabbed his face with a handkerchief and hugged each of his four attorneys after the verdict — not guilty on all 14 counts — was read. The Grammy award-winning singer had faced 15 years in prison if convicted.

Minutes later, surrounded by bodyguards, he left the courthouse without comment. Dozens of fans screamed and cheered as he climbed into a waiting SUV.

Prosecutors had argued that a video tape mailed to the Chicago Sun-Times in 2002 showed Kelly engaged in graphic sex actswith a girl as young as 13 at the time. Both Kelly, 41, and the now 23-year-old alleged victim had denied they were the ones on the tape. Neither testified during the trial.

The prosecution’s star witness was a woman who said she engaged in three-way sex with Kelly and the alleged victim. Defense attorneys argued the man on the tape didn’t have a large mole on his back; Kelly has such a mole.

Mediaoutrage- Wow R done done it again. He beat them charges like a domestic violence victim. We know he went home and took a nice long piss. We know he happy to be free.
