Terrence Howard says his estranged wife HATES black people … and she would often call him names like, “monkey” and “n**ger”  … this according to new court docs obtained by TMZ.

Howard is in the middle of perhaps the nastiest divorce we’ve ever seen — with both sides accusing the other of extreme violence and other hateful conduct.

Now, Howard has filed a new declaration in L.A. County Superior Court –  claiming Michelle inexplicably turned from a “loving, gentle” person … into a monster … who once threatened to have him killed by some violent Russians.

In the docs, Howard notes Michelle is NOT black — and claims that when she would get upset, she would scream things like, “[I] never wanted to marry a n**ger in the first place” and “[I] definitely didn’t want to be the step mother of some n**ger kids.”

As TMZ first reported, Howard claims Michelle is trying to extort him over private recordings she allegedly stole from his personal computer – and in the new docs, T.H. alleges his wife threatened to have him “clipped” if he went to police.

Howard says his wife once bragged, “I have a lot of Russian friends who would do it as a favor.”

Howard also claims Michelle has jealousy issues — and TWICE attacked him with a bottle after accusing Howard of talking with other women. Howard claims he never struck back.

Terrence has asked the court to issue a restraining order against Michelle. A hearing is set for January 17.

We reached out to Michelle’s lawyer — so far, no response.

Terrence Howard is best known for his pretty-boy acting skills in films we like but with these new allegations he might want to take an anger-management class stat! His wife Michelle Howard filed a restraining order against the actor and his widow’s peak:

Terrence Howard’s estranged wife Michelle Howard has received a temporary restraining order after claiming a pattern of physical abuse and menacing behavior on the part of the “Hustle & Flow” star.

Under the order, which has been obtained by TheWrap, the actor, 42, must stay at least 100 yards from his wife, her residence, her car and her workplace. The order will stay in effect until a Jan. 17 hearing on the matter.

In a declaration accompanying her request for the order, Michelle Howard — who wed the actor on Jan. 20, 2010 and filed for divorce a year later — says that the “August Rush” star “became verbally and physically abusive toward me” shortly after their wedding.

Just seven days after the wedding, she says, Howard punched her across the face and neck during an argument about a second cell phone that he’d allegedly kept secret from her.

During another blow-up in July 2010, Michelle Howard says, the actor grabbed her by the neck and threw her across the room, then threatened to toss her off of a hotel balcony.

During yet another incident, she claims, he hit her so hard in the face that her tooth chipped.

The alleged pattern of threats and harassment continued up to Dec. 1, when Howard allegedly sent her a text message saying, “Satan is taunting me and there is no rest for my mind. So I beg you not to exercise the right that you have, divorce me and do what you wish but do not crush my families [sic] already threatened livelihood. I can’t promise how I will respond.”

In his own declaration, Howard says that he’s never threatened Michelle, and that the Dec. 1 text was not sent as a threat. To the contrary, he says, despite having agreed to only communicate through their lawyers in September, Michelle has made numerous phone calls, text messages and emails, and threatened to release personal material to third parties unless he agreed to pay her.

Howard, who came to singer Chris Brown’s defense after he was arrested for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, was himself arrested for domestic violence in 2001, after allegedly punching his estranged wife Lori McCommas in the face.

Terrence Howard ain’t playing with you thirsty dudes out there that think it’s cool to make moves in the direction of his lady. He left a threatening message on some poor dude’s phone letting him know exactly what will happen should he call his wife just one more time.

Oscar-nominated actor Terrence Howard left a life-threatening message on a stranger’s voicemail, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively obtained the shocking audio.

In the message, left early in the morning of August 31, Terrence identifies himself before going off on an angry tirade about the source calling his wife.

“N**ga, you been calling my wife… If you call my wife again I’m going to come to your house and I’m going to cut your f***ing throat,” Terrence says in the message.

“Understand that. I’m gonna tell you this one time. You call my wife again, I’m going to kill you.”

According to the source, just five days prior, a female friend of his said she got Terrence’s phone number from another friend. After a night of drinking with the source, she decided to prank call Terrence and leave a message expressing her undying love.

“Her phone was dead, so she used mine and left about a three-minute voicemail professing her love for him,” the source — who wishes to remain anonymous — told RadarOnline.com.

“But apparently the call was made to his wife’s phone, not his. I’m assuming she got the voicemail of my friend gushing about Terrence and questioned him about it.”

On September 7, Terrence again called the source and left another voicemail, but this time to apologize.

“I’m so sorry for calling you and speaking that way,” Terrence said. “I thought you were somebody that’s been harassing my wife. Please forgive me.”

The Hustle & Flow actor’s voice is unmistakable in both messages, and RadarOnline.com has confirmed that Terrence made the calls.

“I was shocked when I got another voicemail from him, but it didn’t surprise me that he’d probably realized what he did and wanted to try to patch it up,” the source said.

Not only did Terrence leave the source a second voicemail, but he sent him a text message as well, also obtained by RadarOnline.com.

“My wife told me that she was receiving obscene text from you and that she was being harassed. Therefore I responded with the protective nature that a husband has for his wife,” Terrence wrote.

“Forgive me for the anger, but as you are watching over your girl friend, I too am devoted to my love.”

Terrence and his wife, Michelle Ghent, wed in a secret ceremony in 2010 and by February of 2011 she had already filed for divorce, although it appears the couple has reconciled.

RadarOnline.com reached out for comment from Terrence’s rep, but has received no response.

When asked if the source had a personal message for Terrence he stated: “All I have to say is, it’s hard out here for a pimp.”
