Cory and Tia Hardict named their new son:

Thoroughly enjoying her new role as mother, Tia Mowry has announced the name of her newborn son.

The “Sister Sister” actress and her husband Cory Hardict decided on the name Cree Taylor Hardict for their new edition.

Mowry gushed, “I never knew how much love I could feel for someone.” Cory added, “We both have tears of joy!”

Tia and her sister Tamera will star in a new docu-series called “Tia and Tamera” on the STYLE network this fall.

Cory Hardict and Tia Mowry were looking happier than a mug during the 42nd NAACP Image Awards in LA this past weekend. Tia is carrying her pregnancy quite beautifully. We wish them nothing but the best.

*Being pregnant may not always be the most comfortable time in a woman’s life, but for Tia Mowry the perks make the experience well worth the discomfort.

“You get special treatment, I’m not going to lie. Everyone is always making sure you’re okay,” The Game star, 32, told People.com at the recent Essence Black Women in Television event. “And feeling your baby kick for the first time is one of the most amazing, beautiful things I’ve ever felt.”

“The first time I felt him kick I was laying down in my bed watching “A Baby Story” and I felt [what I call a] ‘butterfly flutter,’” she adds. “I laugh with him when he kicks because he’ll tickle me.”

Mowry says she is now “obsessed” with the kicks and explains that if she hasn’t felt one in a while, her husband Cory Hardrict will try and motivate their future son.

“Sometimes my husband will just tap my belly like, ‘Hey! Are you in there?’” she said. “But he moves when I eat because he’s eating and loves it.”

Mowry and her husband have also been spending a lot of time researching baby names, and while she is not ready to reveal what’s on the short list, she has given some clues.

“We’re definitely looking at ‘C’ names because my husband’s name is Cory. And the meaning that we’re looking at is ‘warrior’ because my husband thinks he’s this warrior,” Mowry said, rolling her eyes in jest.

With a due date of July 3rd, Mowry is already feeling a profound connection with her son.

“I now know what the word ‘love’ means, but this goes even deeper than that,” she said. “It is just amazing.”

How are you feeling?

I actually feel great. The first trimester was insane; the nausea kind of got the best of me. I actually wear these nausea bands, they’re bands that people wear on cruise ships and stuff and they’ve been my best friend. They’re in my wardrobe now.

What do people believe you’re having?

Everybody has been saying a boy, boy, boy, boy just by the way I’ve been carrying. Nobody has said a girl, so I can’t wait to find out what’s inside?

How did you tell your husband?

We we’re actually separated at the time because he was shooting the movie “The Day” and I was shooting “The Game.” I just called him up, well actually I sent him a picture of the pregnancy test and it said pregnant of it. He didn’t believe me, he was like no, so I took about 6 or 8 other pregnancy test and he finally was like “ok it’s a done deal.”

Will the child’s name start with a T since all your siblings name does?

No, we’re actually looking at C’s for Corey because that’s my husband’s name.

How much is Kelsey Grammar involved in with “The Game”?

Kelsey is great. He’s showed up on set several times and been apart of the casting process and all that good stuff. He’s such a great, cool, laid-back kind of guy.

On the CW canceling the show and fans campaigning to bring it back

Yeah, that’s the reason that we’re back, it’s because of our fans. They started twitter accounts, they started facebook accounts…Now the woman that actually started the facebook account has been hired by BET and that’s her job. She’s following the show, all the articles that the cast members do and we got to meet her. It’s all because of the fans, that’s the reason why we’re back. I’m still in shock. It’s unbelievable how many viewers we got in out first airing. Our second airing we kind of stayed in there, we had like six million.

We love DRAMA! BET is basking in the success of “The Game” right now. As you know season 4′s premiere episode drew a whopping 7.7 million viewers to BET but peep how many stayed fastened to their seats during week two…

After debuting to a record-breaking 7.7 million viewers on Jan. 11th, “The Game” held onto most of its audience the following week drawing 6 million viewers on Jan. 19.  This must have The CW licking its wounds.  “This was a show that should never have been cancelled, but The CW had nowhere to put it,” says industry analyst Marc Berman ofAdweekMedia.

Marc says BET’s decision was,

“…one of the smartest moves I’ve ever seen a network do. The advantage [BET] had was that people were familiar with the show.  And BET has a niche audience and caters to the African-American community — and that was the audience watching The CW sitcoms.”

And apparently BET put a lot of money into advertising and marketing for the show which is clearly paying off.  BETNetworks Chairman/CEO Debra Lee said several conscious marketing decisions to raise “The Game’s” profile.

“When we started to think about the marketing campaign behind ‘The Game,’ it made sense to give the biggest scripted launch on our network the biggest overall platform on our network, which is the ‘BET Awards.  We started with a teaser spot with the cast of ‘The Game’ during the ‘BET Awards’ and then began to leverage every major program to deliver the message about the return of ‘The Game’ — from ‘Black Girls Rock!’ to the ‘Soul Train Awards.”

She continued,

“In addition to that, we did the traditional off-channel tactics such as billboards, bus buys and radio spots. We also did a fantastic job of leveraging the show’s fan base on social media sites.”

Glad to see BET has a hit on its hands that doesn’t involve baby mamas or reality television.  And the industry is taking notice too.  “The CW’s loss is BET’s gain, says Marc Berman. “It’s a win/win situation and I commend them for it.”

BET scored a major ratings victory last night (Jan.11) with the debut of their new night of scripted series.

‘The Game,’ which was previously cancelled in 2008 by The CW and picked up by BET, pulled in 7.7 million viewers to become the cable network’s biggest audience for a scripted series debut.Although The New York Times cited dismal ratings as the reason The CW canned the show,’The Game’s premiere surpasses ratings for last October’s BET Hip Hop Awards, which drew 3.5 million viewers and even the network’s tenth annual BET Awards, which drew just over 7 million viewers. It is the second most watched program in the history of the network behind the 2009 BET Awards, which took in 10.6 million viewers.

Last night, topics related to the show including ‘Tasha Mack,’ ‘Derwin,’ ‘Rick Fox,’ ‘Melanie’ ‘GameOn’ and ‘The Game’ generated between six and seven of the top-10 Twitter Trending Topics throughout the hour of the show’s first broadcast.
The dramedy, which follows the relationships of football players — and the women who love them, was created by ‘Girlfriends’ creator/producer Mara Brock Akil. Yesterday’s episode marked the premiere of the series’ fourth season having already aired for three seasons on the CW. The half-hour sitcom stars Tia Mowry-Hardrict,Pooch Hall,Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell, Hosea Chanchez, and Brittany Daniel.

BET has been very aggressive in their marketing push of ‘The Game’ airing marathons of the previous three seasons for two consecutive weekends, buying commercial spots on major networks, including FOX, and even showcasing the show at the Television Critics Association’s winter show preview last week in Pasadena. The New York Times even did a feature on ‘The Game’ calling it “more real than reality TV.” There were also screening parties held around the country.

In addition, the Queen Latifah produced ‘Let’s Stay Together’ drew 4.4 million viewers. It follows the relationship challenges of five young African-Americans.

‘The Game’ airs on BET Tuesday at 10 pm EST. ‘Let’s Stay Together’ airs immediately after at 10:30pm EST.

Last night “The Game” returned with its long-awaited 4th season on BET which saw plenty of drama unveiled on the one hour debut. Every body and they mama was watching while Tweeting and Facebook’ing about the episode. What we want to know is did the first episode live up to the HYPE???
