Christine Kim has filed for divorce from David Alan Grier.  It’s ashame to see so many Hollywood marriages just disintegrate but oh well, the most important thing is that you have a f*king prenup lol, because it doesn’t matter where you go to find a wife or what language she does or doesn’t speak, because HALF is Universal.

We’ve just learned David Alan Grier’s wife has filed for divorce.

According to the docs, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, Christine Kim cited irreconcilable differences. The two were married in July of ‘07 — they have a 1-year-old daughter together.

Forbes has released its annual top earners in hip-hop.  Peep game to see who landed on top this year and who made the list

Despite earning 57% less between June 2008 and June 2009 than he did in the same period the previous year, Jay-Z has topped this year’s Forbes list of Hip-Hop Cash Kings.

The Roc-A-Fella co-founder raked in an estimated $35 million in the 12 month qualifying period.

While his income was almost $50 million less than what he made to qualify for last year’s list, Hova still managed to reclaim the top of the list from fellow entrepreneurial rapper 50 Cent, who fell to the number four position this year with estimated earnings of $20 million.

According to Forbes, one of the biggest reasons for the drastic change in income for both rappers was that they each had huge one-time deals to include in their 2008 earnings.

Rapper 50 Cent received $100 million from Coca-Cola for his stake in Glaceau, the company behind VitaminWater; while Jay-Z signed a one-of-a-kind “360” deal with concert promoter Live Nation, receiving the lion’s share of $150 million last year.

But like most other business men, Hip-Hop’s top earners have definitely been affected by the current economic climate. Last year, the top five artists on the list earned a combined $500 million.

This year’s top 5 earners – Jay-Z, Diddy, Kanye West, Akon, and 50 Cent – made a total $300 million.

According to Forbes.com, the Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list includes male recording artists whose work is primarily classified as Hip-Hop or Rap.

The earnings estimates used to compile the list are calculated from record sales, digital downloads, touring, films, TV shows, endorsements, books and other entertainment ventures.

Management, agent and attorney fees are not subtracted from the gross totals. Forbes’ analysts assessed that what has kept Hip-Hop artists afloat is licensing.

Jay-Z earned approximately $1 million from Budweiser’s use of “Show Me What You Got” in a recent ad campaign.

In addition to earnings from Bad Boy Records, Sean John and his reality TV ventures, which include Making the Band and Run’s House, a portion of Diddy’s earnings came from his relationship with Ciroc Vodka.

Kanye West added to his income year with the release of the limited-edition Nike Air Yeezy, and is expected to add to his 2010 income with his new shoe partnership with Louis Vuitton.

Common also earned some licensing money through his Lincoln Navigator ad campaign.

“Despite the economy, Hip-Hop is just as powerful as it’s ever been in the endorsement and licensing world,” explainrf Ryan Schinman, who’s company Platinum Rye is the world’s largest buyer of music and talent for corporations.

“Tween stars and rock legends are very reliable, but the impact of Hip-Hop on pop-culture and fashion continues to lead the charge,” Schinman told Forbes.

Two of the few rappers to actually see their income increase this year, Akon and Lil Wayne, did so simply by outworking most other artists.

The bulk of their earnings came from hectic tour schedules and financially rewarding collaborations.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shut the door on a resolution honoring Michael Jackson because a debate could raise “contrary views” on the Pop Star’s life.

WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi shut the door Thursday to a resolution honoring Michael Jackson because debate on the symbolic measure could raise “contrary views” about the pop star’s life.

Lawmakers are free to use House speeches “to express their sympathy or their praise any time that they wish,” said Pelosi, D-Calif. “I don’t think it’s necessary for us to have a resolution.”

A resolution sponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, cites some of the singer’s charitable acts and proclaims him an American legend, musical icon and world humanitarian.

Even before Pelosi’s comments, some Democrats said privately they did not support the resolution and a divisive debate would hurt House efforts to muster the votes for priorities such as health care and climate change.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who posted a video on YouTube calling Michael Jackson a “pervert” and a “pedophile,” has pledged to do all he could to block the resolution.

Michael Jackson was acquitted in 2005 of charges that he molested a 13-year-old boy. Those allegations, and his admission that children slept in his bed at his home but nothing sexual occurred, have led some members of Congress to put distance between themselves and any formal honor for the entertainer.

“A resolution, I think, would open up to contrary views to — that are not necessary at this time to be expressed in association with a resolution whose purpose is quite different,” Pelosi said at a Capitol Hill news conference where she discussed various legislative matters.

Unbowed, Jackson Lee said she will seek support from colleagues who thanked her when she introduced the measure June 26, one day after Michael Jackson died. She said honorary resolutions don’t often “pass the next day.”

“On this floor we elevate people and doing that we have to work to tell your story,” she said after a House vote. But she would need support from Democratic leadership for the resolution to advance to the full House from the committee where it is now.

When members of the Congressional Black Caucus held a moment of silence in the House after Jackson died June 25, some lawmakers walked out of the chamber.

Jackson Lee has pledged that the resolution, now before the House Foreign Affairs Committee where she is a member, would come to the full House for debate. Such honorary measures normally move quickly from committee to the full House and pass on a voice vote.

But Jackson Lee’s resolution was in trouble early. It drew only one co-sponsor, Rep. Diane Watson, D-Calif., and was not endorsed by other black caucus members.

From the stage at Jackson’s memorial Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Jackson Lee hoisted a framed copy of the resolution.

Since Michael Jackson’s death, his albums have dominated the charts in both number one songs and sales.

Nielsen SoundScan says 800,000 copies of Michael Jackson albums were bought in the U.S. last week — nearly double his sales from the previous week.

Jackson is claiming the entire Top 10 roster on the Top Catalog Album chart this week. His “Number Ones” collection is the top seller, followed by “Thriller.” Solo albums occupy every position but No. 7, where the Jackson 5’s “Ultimate Collection” album resides.

Data from the week ending Sunday — the first full week since Jackson’s June 25 death — shows physical albums accounted for 80 percent of his sales.

On Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart, Jackson holds five out of the top 10 slots, with “Man in the Mirror” leading as his top-selling digital download song of the week.

Four Jackson CDs also are in the top 10 albums sold on iTunes, and five of the top 10 singles for the week ending Monday.

Yesterday thousands piled into Mount Baptist Church in Tennessee for Steve McNair’s memorial service.  Video footage after the jump

*A three-hour visitation for slain ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair was held Thursday in Tennessee at the Mount Zion Baptist Church as well as a memorial service later in the evening.       

Some fans attending the service wore their Tennessee Titans to view the closed silvery-gray casket topped with white lilies next to a portrait of the former Titans star. A helicopter provided live TV footage as McNair’s body was taken by hearse to his church for a memorial service Thursday night.      

Titans owner Bud Adams, Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, and many of McNair’s current and former teammates attended the memorial service. Derrick Mason, who played with McNair in both Tennessee and Baltimore spoke along with Titans coach Jeff Fisher.

Also present was McNair’s wife, Mechelle, who later left wearing sunglasses. Bishop Joseph W. Walker III, McNair’s pastor and close friend called her an amazing woman.”You have inspired us all to endure hardship as a good soldier,” he said.

It was her first public appearance since her husband died, and press photographers were asked not to take pictures of her or other family members.

Earlier at the visitation, many people were disappointed that McNair’s casket was closed. Among them was Jackie Smith.

“I wanted to view him — I didn’t want to view a casket. I think everybody expected to see him,” said Smith, who stopped by before going to work at the U.S. Postal Service.

Smith described herself as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, “but I enjoyed that Air McNair.” She said the reality of McNair’s death finally kicked in yesterday when she saw his obituary in the newspaper, “but still I’d prefer to view the body to have some closure.”

Approximately 4,500 filled the church sanctuary for the memorial service, and church officials had overflow areas with a handful of people there.

The Titans estimated approximately 9,000 people had visited LP Field, where fans could reminisce about his career, between Wednesday and midday Thursday. A couple of radio stations were broadcasting from the stadium where the shop had sold out all of its McNair merchandise except for a few children’s shirts.
