Yesterday, Spike Lee was presented the Golden Needle Award for outstanding achievement in directing at the 2009 Seattle International Film Festival.  Spike is definitely a director who has given us all a very interesting and diverse body of work to enjoy.  Your favorite Spike Lee film would be??

Spike Lee and Rosie Perez got together last week at the Lincoln Center in NYC to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of “Do The Right Thing.” Even though we haven’t seen Rosie Perez in anything lately she still looks good after all of these years. We know Spike probably wishes he wasn’t married so he could do the right thing in her draws. Malinda Williams and D Nice were also in the building.

Michael Jordan, who probably went into that voter booth on Tuesday, and punched the button for McClame and Salin, was spotted front row at the Garden for the Knicks and Bobcats. Knicks regular Spike Lee who’s probably working on an Obama film as we speak, was spotted cheering on his team that will probably never celebrate a parade in the NBA. Yep folks we’re more likely to see a Garth Brooks G-Unit collaboration before we watch the Knicks hoist the trophy. Chris Rock and his homie were front row looking like they were plotting to run Amtrak on that cheerleader. Knicks great Charles Oakley was also on hand for the game.

Last night more than 125,000 people were outside at Grant Park in Chicago as Barack Obama sailed way past 270 electoral votes to become the 44th President of the United States. Amongst those 125,000 elated citizens was Oprah Winfrey, Jesse Jackson, Hill Harper, Will i am, and Spike Lee. From day one Oprah was one of President Barack Obama’s most avid supporters. She used her everything except her show platform to add feul to his campaign. So it goes without saying that last night was a very proud moment for her. Congrats President Obama! Ahmad Rashad and his new billionaire wife Sale Johnson, took in a New York knicks game on Suday. She’s definitely no Phylicia Rashad in the looks department, but when your account is that husky in economic times like these who cares about looks right? Spike Lee and his son, and Roy Jones Jr. who’s scheduled to fight this upcoming Saturday November 8th, was also at the game.

Lil’ Kim, Rocsi, Valeisha Butterfield, LL, Bow wow, Spike and Tonya Lee, Malik Yoba, Dikembe Mutombo, Fab, Ice T and Coco, and Russell Simmons all came under one roof to celebrate the upcoming election. It’s great to see so many celebs have taken part in this critical election. Props to Russell Simmons who has always tried to encourage young people to utilize their political voice. The Obama shirt that LL is holding is hilarious. We love it!
